Tl* the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet venture. the contact stated that the vehicle was being driven approximately 50 mph when the driver crashed into a deer. the seat belt did not properly restrain the driver, who sustained a mild concussion. the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene and was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the technician stated that all six seat belts needed to be replaced because they would not properly restrain a person during a crash. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 123,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet venture. the contact stated the driver side seat belt failed. the contact mentioned that the latch plate failed to fit into the buckle. the manufacturer was made aware of the problem. in addition, the contact stated that the rear view mirror adhesive melted and broke off.the approximate failure mileage was 170,000.

We have found that due to the angle of the seat belt receiver, a child safety seat cannot be adequately immobilized in either outboard second row position. i am an ex-nhtsa car safety seat technician, and know how to install very well. short of using a latch kit (which we are now using), there is no other way to prevent side to side movement of the child seat.*ak

Consumer's vehicle hit another vehicle head on while driving at 25 mph. the seat belt failed to retract. also, upon impact, air bags failed to deploy. driver sustained chin injuries, passenger in the front seat sustained knee injuries, and passenger in the second seat sustained head injuries. upon inspection of the vehicle dealership indicated that sensor that controls the air bags was damaged.*ak

While driving at 35 mph another vehicle collided with consumer's vehicle on the front passenger's side. the consumer's child was seated in a child seat that was built into the vehicle. the five point harness that was restraining the child became undone. four persons were in the vehicle at the time of the collision, and three sustained minor injuries.*ak 2003 chevrolet venture was involved in a collision with another vehicle. during the collision the built in child seat five point harness became unbuckled. four people were in the vehicle at the time of the collision. one of the passengers was a child that was seated in the built in child seat. the four passengers sustained minor injuries.*mr

The mechanism used to tighten and loosen the integrated child seat harness strap was too accessible to the toddlers who were able to access the device and tighten/loosen the straps. it nearly caused serious injuries to the children, but was noticed in time to prevent it. *ak *scc *jb
