I have a 2001 chevy venture that had a recall on the fuel tank because it could leak fuel and a cause a fire. on april 19th my wife took the van in to chapman chevrolet in tempe,az to get the tank replaced because it has been leaking fuel for some time now. we were never notified of this recall. we looked it up online. when she got there she was told that we were over the mileage for the free tank replacement and would have to pay a $1000 to have it replaced. that was of course out of the question and it is not our fault that they made a defective tank and is a fire hazard that they want people to drive around in unless they have a thousand dollars to spend on replacing it. please help if you can. this can be a serious problem and gm needs to stand behind their products. *tr
