The driver side seat belt does not buckle into the latch. there's a metal piece inside the latch blocking it from sliding in and snapping in. this started happening a few days ago, preventing me from driving the van since i can't use my seat belt.

Driver seatbelt will not buckle properly. it takes about 4 attempts to secure the seatbelt. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet uplander. the contact stated when he inspected the vehicle he noticed the third row seat belt was not bolted onto the floor. the dealer stated there was nothing they could do to correct the failure. the manufacturer was contacted and denied assistance with the repair. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 71,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet uplander. the contact stated that the two seat belts on the middle row are starting to split and the rear seat belts were stuck and would not move. the vehicle was taking to a car seat inspection station and the contact was told that the seat belts could not be used because they were a safety hazard. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and was told that since the vehicle was not under warranty, there was nothing that could be done. the contact also stated that the side sliding door on the left would not automatically close properly. if the door was not closed by hand, the door would open randomly. the contact also stated that the side rails have been replaced twice on the vehicle because of rust. the failure and current mileages were 109000.

My 7 year old daughter was sitting in her booster seat with her seatbelt on, in the rear passenger seat of our 2005 chevy uplander. she leaned forward to pick something off the floor, and the seatbelt ripped out of the seat. *tr

Power sliding doors open / close by themselves at times (usually right door, but sometimes left). sometimes, when the door has been closed it will reopen & have to be closed manually. at times the door will stay closed, but the 'dinging' noise will continue for the entire time i am driving. there have been occasions when it continued dinging well after the ignition was turned off. we have had it in the shop and 'fixed' a few times. the fix sometimes lasted a week or two. sometimes, it only lasted a couple of days. we were never able to pinpoint or predict when the malfunction would occur. finally, we have removed the fuse permanently and only operate the doors manually to prevent a serious injury from occurring to the children. in the rear (3rd) seat, the right seat belt has also retracted & will not release. this happened one day when i was trying to remove a child from the vehicle. he was in a booster seat and strapped in by the seat belt. when i unlatched the belt, it retracted slightly, but would not pull back out. now it is too tight to place a car seat, booster, or have someone sit there. i have not made the trip to the service department for this situation. no one is allowed to sit it that seat because the safety restraint is not-usable. *tr

Front passenger seat belt latch failure. when attempting to fasten my seatbelt it will not catch and lock. it usually takes several attempts to fasten seatbelt before it will engage and lock. i listed the last time it occur; however, this has been going on for about a year now. *tr

On march 17, 2007 at approximately 6:00 pm my husband, myself and 4 children arrived home. we own a 2005 chevrolet uplander. my oldest daughter 7 was sitting all the way to the rear driver's side when she unbuckled the seat belt and she started yelling that she couldn't get out! my husband went to the back to see what was wrong ,and she was completely entangled in the seat belt. she was crying hysterically, and was scared to death! somehow when she unbuckled the seat it retracted so fast that it was twisted and entangled around her waist. it locked and kept getting tighter and tighter!, it was so tight that i couldn't get my fingers between the belt and her waist. my husband tried unlocking the seat belt but it just kept getting tighter. we had no choice but to cut it off on her. it was so tight that it left bruises and marks completely around her waist. currently, she and my 3 year old son are scared to death to get into the car. i contacted gm and the dealer right away. gm sent an inspector to take pictures. gm claimed that they found no defect with the belt, and it was our responsibility to fix it. they said that it was our choice to cut the seat belt. i explained to them that we had no choice, and if it somehow got wrapped around her neck that it would have killed her. gm inspector insisted that my daughter must have been playing with the seat belt. she was not! i told her that i do have the pictures of the injuries that it did ,and i would take further action! the least they could do was to fix the seat belt. she refused, and was very rude! i asked to speak to a supervisor ,who told me the same thing. i told her that i didn't care if it wasn't defective, but i did care that it was unsafe. there was a big difference. *ak the dealer has offered to fix the seat belt but did state right away that they weren't fixing it ...
