Drivers side passenger door power lock stopped working. our 2016 trax has only 17000 miles on it. we had our 4 yr old granddaughter in the back in here car seat. we could not get the door open. eventually i was able to pull the door lock up from the top of the car. we were stationary at the house after leaving the park. if this car was to have caught on fire i am not sure what we would have done. our bumper to bumper warranty ended in june which was 3yr 36,000 mikes. however we did purchase a 3rd party extended warranty which makes me pay a $200 deductible. i made contact with chevrolet, here is the claim number [xxx] the senior advisor is john. i believe that chevrolet has an integrity issue with doing the right thing especially a severe safety flaw with there power door locks. the service advisor at haley chevrolet in midlothian va said that the door locks just stopped working for no reason. its not the $200 that i have to pay it is just the principle of them giving me the run around. this could be a on going issue that is building. hopefully, know one will be injured due t this flaw. thanks, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
When i get on highway doing faster speed my car is very loud inside like a bad air leak coming from back somewhere. this is very annoying can't use blue tooth phone because you cannot hear to have a conversation or hear the radio at a normal volume because it is so loud. had i known this i would have never bought this vechicle.
Started driving and in 10 minutes the car started hesitating and suddenly stalled. the engine light and the stability light also went on.. i was able to start the car again just long enough to park it on the side of the road. waited for tow which was taking long in 96 degree weather. so i drove the car home (15 minutes away) had to drive very slow cause felt like turning off..took 45 minutes to get home..called dealer in the morning and they gave me a towing number. i called @9:30am, waited to call back at 12:30pm and no record of anyone sent out. again they said some would be sent. they arrived at2:50pm. praying everything turns out good.
Got this vehicle on 07/23/2016, the vehicle had major issues until 09/2018. in september 2018 i took the vehicle to the original lot to have it inspected as when switching the fan for the a/c from 3 to 4 on the blower motor settings stopped working. my dealership replaced the original blower motor. along with that i was having the issues of the center console (radio unit) and the dash (where the speed, mileage, etc... is) would go out will driving or not turn on at all and the back up camera wouldn't turn on go. they re-installed the computer software and updated the system and sent me on my way. in 02/2019 i started having the same issues, back up camera and center console not working, and dash turning off and not coming on. also when i took the key out of the ignition and got out of the car and locked the door and the car was still running. the radio was still playing and the car was still running even though there was no key in the ignition and it was not remote started. i called the dealership that morning to bring the car in that night for service the next day. they kept the trax for roughly 1 week. the installed a new radio, re-flashed and updated the computer, and re-installed the back up camera software. i picked the car up drove roughly 3 miles and brought it back same hour due to it having the same issues. they kept it another 3 days and i got it back after about 2 weeks of work at the dealership. as of 06/11/19 i had to take the car back in for the same issues: dash going out, radio going out, back up camera not working, and the trax still running with no key in the ignition. i called on 06/12/19 they stated the car would not communicate with the diagnostics computer and they would have to replace the radio they installed 4 months ago. part was ordered and over-nighted but never came in on 06/12/19. waiting to see if i can return this lemon of a car now.
