Tl* the contact owns a 2018 chevrolet traverse. the contact stated that without the drivers seat belt securely latched, the hill ascent and descent function became inoperable. the contact that while the vehicle was on an incline, the hill descent feature failed and the vehicle rolled backwards and stalled. the vehicle was taken to wentworth motors dealer, (139 franklin st, dansville, ny 14437, (585) 204-0905) and it was confirmed that the feature would be disengaged if the seat belt was not securely fastened. the technician informed the contact that there was no fix for the failure however, to prevent the failure the seat belt should be worn at all times. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximate 21,958.

Attempted to put seat belt on. won't latch therefore doesn't stay on. car was stationary at time first attempted to use the seat belt, was in motion when made several other attempts. interior locking mechanism must be broken/defective.

Child(ren) are at risk in the 2nd row as the seat belt no longer fastens.
