My 2014 chevy traverse has been having this issue for months now. i will be driving and my service stabilitrak, traction control off, check engine light will light up, and engine power reduced will pop up. i can not go over 20 mph. at times the engine will become very stally, jerky, my steering wheel and brakes will be very hard to use. these are very random and non patterned i will have to safely pull over rather it be on a back road or a highway wherever it happens turn the engine off for 5-20 minutes and it will eventually clear everything but the check engine light; which will clear within that day or the next until the next time it happens. it has also cause my key to lock up in the ignition. this is very unsafe and scary. this is my family car and will eventually cause an accident and hurt myself, my kids, or someone else. if you google the issue there are tons of forums, websites, blogs that have the same issue with this car. i have spent numerous hours investigating the issue, lots of money replacing parts as recommended or by the check engine light and it continues to do this. gm is going to have a lawsuit on their hands when someone gets seriously hurt over this issue because they are not doing anything about it.

Blind zone system needs service, causing blinkers to not work, steering column failed and radio quit working
It keeps saying service airbags the first time it did this two weeks after purchase we took it back to dealer in sikeston and the replace connector under seat which cost us 800 dollars now for months later light is back on and with this light on the airbags are disabled which is a big safety problem for my family the issue needs be fixed because of safety reasons also a costly repair bill car has only 70 thousand miles what can i do to get this issue resolved with my vehicle it happened it september and now in december both times you start the vehicle it comes on an will not go off without costly repair that should not be charge for safety issues with vehicle
My vehicle will first stall and slow down with 'engine power reduced' and something about the traction control and stability track going across the dash right before my vehicle stops on me. this happens frequently at any moment and now i am unable to start it back up. i was told by pep boys that it is an electrical problem, with codes reading a shortage in the fuse box. i checked the web for any recalls and saw that others were having the same issues, yet no recalls. this is dangerous because my vehicle stops at any moment in the middle of a drive, even on the highway. now i am without reliable transportation in my 2014 traverse. i love my vehicle, but gm needs to fix this issue.
Driving the kids to school and the vehicle just cut off on the interstate and the traction control turned off. i was able to catch the exit and make it to the side. it would not start. it finally started and i was able to go two miles where it cut off again, holding up morning school and work traffic on the two lane road. there was no shoulder to pull off to. i just read where there was an issue with a short in the electrical system that causes the car to just shut off. i put my vin number in the recall database to see what to do and it tells me my car is not on the recall list. this is dangerous and i fear for my family knowing these types of issues exist.
While driving my traverse it stalled going 50 mph. after restarting the vehicle the engine was at low power and would only go 20 miles per hour. the dash read low engine power, stabilitrak and traction control issues. drove the vehicle at 20 mph in a 55 mph zone for about 5 miles with the flashers on. took the vehicle to todd wenzel in davison michigan. upon restarting to go to the dealership the vehicle drove as normal with the engine light on. the dealership coded it.( see attached) we did do the work the dealership recommended. this was the fourth time we have had similar issues. the past three times just the engine light came on with no stalling or speed issues and the code was ignition switch fuse. we had the fuse replaced each time. all within 8-9 months. engine issues came up as possible recall but not with my vin #.
Tl* the contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2014 chevrolet traverse. the vehicle stalled while driving the contact was almost left stranded the contact stated that there were several electrical issues with the vehicle while driving at approximately 60-65 mph, without warning the vehicle stalled. the driver was able to restart and drive the vehicle to the residence at a reduced speed. the vehicle was taken to jim ellis chevrolet, 5900 peachtree blvd, atlanta, ga 30341, (770) 457-8211, to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that there was moisture in the fuse box which caused an electrical short. the driver was informed that the fuse box needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v614000 (electrical system). the failure was intermittent. the manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was unknown.
Engine power comes up low power and i just brought a new battery which i know that not it. the car will throttle and then i can only go up to 20 miles per an hour and it's hard to steer. i will have to stop the car for twenty minutes and it will start back up with the engine light on. this is very dangerous to take on the highway or even drive especially i have kids in my car. what can i do???
A life and safety issue! with no warning the vehicle will suddenly shut off. it does not matter if you're moving on the freeway or parked, it is very intermittent and only happened three times in the last 6 to 8 weeks. two different mechanics said error it's code p1682 is the fault but it will not duplicate the symptoms. i contacted chevy corporate and they knowledge other vehicles this year have a recall but claim mice vin number is not affected and will do nothing. hey fuel vehicle is in safe and do not want my family in it until i am certain it will not suddenly shut off while they are in motion.
Check engine light intermittently comes on and off. car misfired and stalled while idling (parked). took to mechanic and check engine code noted to bevp1682. chevy recall 14187 and chevy recall 14007 are similar to these symptoms but currently our vin in not included despite a similar situation. fuel guage also reads inaccurately.
In the course of the last year my chevy traverse has lost power on the freeway. our traction control light has come on several times powering down the engine and placing us, me & my family in a very harmful situation. we have taken it to our mechanics they have diagnosed it and replaced several relays. that did not remedy the problem placing me on the freeway once again down in lax with my child in the car powering down & traction light coming on and pulling over and placing us in yet another dangerous situation. i have read the motor vehicle code for california title 49 section 301. this malfunction definitely poses an unreasonable risk to the public. also, noted on nhtsa, national highway transportation safety administration website notes there is a recall on electrical system was reported.
I was entering the on-ramp going east and my vehicle completely stopped. i was going around 25-30 mph and i had my kids in the car. my computer forced my brakes and i was unable to drive the vehicle. my suv literally made a full stop while driving at 25-30 mph with my kids in the car and no brake lights ignited. the check engine light and the traction control light came on. they eventually turned off. this happened one other time. i was driving on a residental street and the vehicle stopped again. my husband whom was driving the car said the car just stopped in the middle of the intersection. he tried pressing the traction control button because the check engine light and the traction control light came on and the brakes were forced again and nothing. imagine going 25mph and stopping abruptly without brake lights for other cars to see. this time i did research and i saw that other 2014 chevy traverses were recalled for the chassis module (recall number 14v614000). i saw youtube videos and i checked several consumer the complaint websites and i literally saw over 10 other complaints about the same issue this month! i also put a reader in my vehicle and the two codes that come up is p16aa & p1682. one is for the electronic module system in which the chassis (pertaining to the recall) is listed under). i called the dealer and they said that the recall was active for 2014 chevy traverses..... but not mine! i am completely disgusted. these vehicles will kill you - literally and they know it, and they refuse to do anything about it! now i'm paying a car note and i can't even drive it - for the safety of my family, others, and myself. shame on them - again this is happening to other people! this is a urgent request for help!
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet traverse. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the traction control warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was restarted after an hour. the contact mentioned that the failure previously occurred and the battery was replaced; however, the failure was persistent. the vehicle was taken to family auto mart (1900 aurora rd, melbourne, fl 32935, (321) 242-0328 )where the contact was informed that the vehicle was bought as is and that the electronic control computer failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
My truck started shaking, after pulling over and turning it off, it cranked and ran normal (several times). the engine light came on and the reading was a starter relay fuse (similar to an ice cube) that was replaced. then it started shaking, loosing power and not starting (rolling over but not catching). code read throttle body which was cleaned. the very next morning exiting the interstate it lost power, would not start, again turning over but not catching. towed to the dealer and diagnosed: fuel harness wiring. #3 ignition coil, spark plugs and fuel system cleaning. all done except fuel system cleaning. drove to work, attempted to leave work and the vehicle would not crank, turning over but not cranking. eventually cranked and 2 days later started jerking. came to a stop sign, making a left turn it jerked and lost power in the middle of the road. towed to dealer again replacing the entire fuse box. fuse box is on back order, pending results.
I have been driving and my driver side headlight will randomly shut off and sometimes come back on. my driver side control for the passenger side window has stopped working, the passenger side can only be rolled down by the passenger side control. front passenger side tire keeps deflating with for no reason there is nothing in the tire to make a hole but the tire keeps losing pressure. for the tire it is anytime if the car is moving or if it is stopped. the headlight will turn off and on if i hit any bumps, hit the headlight cover by hand, and sometimes it will turn off and on without any bumps at all. the window control just does not work at all now and it has started to effect the rear passenger side as well.
I was driving on the highway when the car started losing power! as i hit the gas petal it would putt putt as if it wasn't getting any gas. i lost complete power at red light, had to turn the switch all the way down then back up then the car slowly winded up as if it didn't want to start so i had to give it a little gas then it cranked up on the dash board you can see the rpm going up and down as if it wanting to shut off!
My car keeps dying for no reason. it has a reading of low engine lower and traction control system needing service. they car just shuts off in the middle of the road. my vehicle went from 70 to 30 mph on the highway.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet traverse. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine power reduced and check stabilitrac messages appeared on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be changed. the contact mentioned that the failure occurred for over a year and a half. the vehicle was taken to marine chevrolet (1408 western blvd, jacksonville, nc 28546) to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. the vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: [xxx]. the approximate failure mileage was 82,000. parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc
C0242,p1682. while driving the stability control turns off reduced engine power and the vehicle turns off leaving you no way to stream the vehicle . this happens at all speeds and in park. this happens everyone the vehicle is driven.
2014 chevy traverse ls, 66k miles, purchased used in may 2018. at random, traction control turns off, reduced engine power and sometimes shuts off. has happened 5 times in the last 3 weeks while driving in traffic, stopped at a red light, and once while car was parked in my driveway! turn car off for about 5 mins, and it runs normally, but check engine light stays on, until the next day then all is normal again. then the cycle repeats--over and over! after some research, found a recall for this issue (gm #14515), but it did not cover all 2014 traverses, not to mention this issue affects several gm makes and models and has been a problem since at least 2007!! this problem is well documented by hundreds of consumers who are experiencing the same thing. i find it extremely hard to believe that gm has not been made to make this right via full fledged recall--not just certain vehicles. this is dangerous!! my family and i could have been in a few serious accidents because of this "flaw" that gm is well aware of since they issued a recall to fix it (but not for all affected vehicles). called gm customer service, and although the person was nice, he said nothing helpful at all (take it to a dealer and pay a $120 diagnostic fee for what? gm knows exactly what's wrong), and advised my car was not a part of the recall. why not?!?!?!? it most certainly has the issue for which the recall was done!!! the electronic control module needs to be replaced asap before someone gets hurt or killed because my car decided to randomly reduce power and/or shut down. unless that's what gm is waiting for before they do the right thing. and to think my father spent 36 years working for this company...
While driving the car, it happens to loose power and it is very difficult to wheel and move the car . it stops in the middle of the freeway and service traction control comes up , then service stabilitytrak and then traction control off . it has to be turned off and then wait and restart it again , with a check engine
While driving, car slows to 25mph and dash flashes between the following warnings: service stabilitrak, traction control off, service traction control, power engine reduced. the check engine light and traction control light also turn on at this time . this has happened 5 times so far. i have been driving on the highway and on side streets when this happens. this is very dangerous and could cause an accident easily.
The car will short out dash and smells like burning and will return to normal. took to dealer and supposedly my vin not included in recall. it happens with car in motion.
Takata recall my computer system told me i had low air pressure in my right front tire. i pulled off the interstate on my way home from work and put air in my tire. after each fill i rechecked the tire pressure through the computer system and it continues to drop in number. i spent around 20 minutes trying to figure out why it didn't look flat but my vehicle was recording it was. i decided it must be a computer error and proceeded to fill my other tires and vacuum my car. i pulled off and something told me to ask the gentleman getting gas if my front right tire looked flat, he said, 'no, it's your back right tire, i can hear the air escaping' sure enough i could hear it to, and could see a large crack in the tire. i decided to continue home but it got to low and had to pull over. so my computer system in my new used car warned me me about a perfectly good tire and pulled my attention away from a tire that had a hole in it. i am very disappointed and feel chevy needs to fix this and compensate me for having to sit in a big lots parking lot for 2 hours waiting for assistance when i could have been home waiting in my living room had i not wasted so much precious time filling a tire that was perfectly fine.
The car has started to do a shimmy and then the car completely turns off and won't start again. there is always gas in the car, and the oil is changed regularly. the car has been taken to a local repair shop to address the issue. i was told that there is a small electrical connection box under the gas tank that was filled with dirt and getting poor contact. the small box was cleaned out and electric conductive gel was used. the car didn't have a problem for about 9 days and then it started to do the same thing as before. it has turned off mostly when the vehicle is moving. the latest time this happened was 11/6/2018
I purchased this vehicle used and within 3 months my airbag service light came on. i told back to the dealer and i was told my extended warranty would not cover the the airbag service. this is a safety issue and should be covered by the manufacture with the massive airbag recall a few years ago. now my car dashboard is getting very dim while driving and then brightens and again the dealership is unable to find the problem and this is also a safety problem, with no recall.
Ac won't come on or just shuts off while driving, sometimes the service airbag warning comes on, sometimes it sets a check engine light code p0119, if the recirculate button is not on then it lights up and ac compressor shuts off, pull over out of traffic and shut the car off and let everything come to a complete stop and restart the car, sometimes every thing clears up but sometimes it takes several restarts to get car to function properly. happens driving on road or stationary. checked battery but seems to be ok, checked fuse box and the entire fuse box is loose, the hold down screws in the fuse box appear to be stripped and will not tighten, shimmed the box to the frame to prevent it from shaking around in the engine compartment. car was purchased from lakeside chevrolet in rockwall, tx as a certified used car, it has been back to the dealer for the service airbag issue but they did not resolve the problem. has been happening every since we purchased the vehicle. keep looking for recalls but nothing yet. there are considerable complaints about this problem or similar problems. the problem with carrying this vehicle back to dealer is that they don't seem to know how to fix it. general motors should recall this vehicle and repair it because it is obviously factory defective.
Was driving on highway all of a sudden car starts shaking and slows down push on gas can barely go over 35 service light come on for stability trax service stability trak get to a safe place of the highway and turns car off turn car back on still says stability trax engine almost seems like it will cut off pressing on gas with full tank and car barely moving car slowed down dramatically when it first happen could have caused an accident went home read to turn car off wait a while and see if lservice light would come on went away took to a mechanic even though it doesn't say fix the service stability trax had a friend run codes by doing an diagnostic test came up thru diagnostic test to take to dealer and have them fix it. but doesn't flash anymore about stability trac right window will not roll up passenger window.
Driving on freeway, warning lights came on with error 'service traction control' and 'engine power reduced'. emergency flashers would not come on. barely able to limp to the side of the freeway with cars honking and swerving around vehicle. traverse has 40,000 miles on it. has had same issue except this time while parked. turn truck off and restarts fine. both incidents within a month of buying vehicle used. took vehicle to carmax, oxnard, ca, 93036 where we have extended warranty. they were not able to replicate the issue and returned vehicle. this was after the first time it happened. in carmax 8/9/2018.
The vehicle will all of a sudden go into low engine power mode, traction stability turns on and it limps - dealership states they can not recreate issue so can not fix. several times to dealership each time they can not fix and it is running fine. all of the internet same problem with same vehicle. this is a huge safety issues as it has occured on the highway and an intersection before. it is very dangerous. the vehilce is not operatable during the eposide. you stop the vehile let it sit for a brief minute and it will start up and drive normal. when it happen this morning on the freeway it was very dangerous as it cause a stopage on the freeway in rush hour traffic and limping to the side at 5mph is scarry crossing lanes. this is a know issue and the company is not doing anything about it. please help!!!!!!
I received an alert that some 2014 chevrolet traverses had a recall that required a computer update; however, researching my vin # shows no recall. i have experienced several electrical type issues that was explained to me that the computer system is losing contact with several modulators. so far it has been my power train modulator, fuel pump modulator and my on-star modulator. i strongly feel like this is a manufacture defect and that a recall should be issued to correct the problem. no accident has occurred at the time of this complaint but i feel that it won't be long before i have an issue that will result in an accident.
While sitting in traffic at a red light, i felt the car shudder, and the engine died. it started right up. drove it home. it produced a check engine light. my mechanic checked it with his analyzer, and he told me there was a short in the ignition somewhere. i googled recalls for my model year and recall 14515b popped up. nobody at gm (toll freenumber) or the service manager at the dealership where i bought the car will acknowledge this memo exists. it describes perfectly what happened with my vehicle
Radio going crazy, horn honk for no reason when you get out of it,low battery blink then go off, check engine light go on , then go off after few minutes, speedometer act like its sticking when acceleration or deceleration, traction control light come on then go off, cruise control on and it reduce speed, tachometer go up as if your speeding up when its sitting still, car is not shifting smooth like it use to, burnt plastic smell, weird gear oil smell, but no signs of leak, and locks unlocking hours after you lock it and alarm is on, it just takes turns doing different things, started couple of weeks ago, so far, they have not figured out what's going on yet, been in shop since tuesday and it still has warranty for pre certified cars, all these problems happened while driving it on the highway, it start with occasional incident and now its daily, i am concerned the next time instead of slowing the car down that it will just shut off like some of the others have done
Last week when my car was parked, it died. when i got back in, i realized it had died, and tried to start it. when i started it, all of these errors started popping up: "engine power reduced", "traction control is off", "service stabilitrak". the power was definitely reduced, and i could barely creep along. the car even shook like it was about to die. then when i was trying to stop the abs breaks came on and off several times. i parked and turned it off then turned it back on after a minute. it was back to normal except the service engine light was on. so i took it to the dealership and had them check it out. they couldn't find anything to fix and said to call again if anything happened again (they did charge the battery). i went and picked it up and drove it 10 miles. i parked and shut it off. when i came back out to start it about 30 minutes later, this time there was an error about the guidelines on the camera system not working and the same stabilitrak error. so i shut it off and started it back up. it seemed to be functional after restarting it. it was okay for a few days until the major errors happened again this morning. i was trying to pull into a parking spot and it did the same thing with the same errors that i first had. it actually went to a total stop and would not move forward at all. i was thankful that i was in a parking lot and not on the highway my children in the car with me. it was so sudden, that if we had been on the highway, i am sure i would have been in an accident. i turned it off and back on and the same thing happened again with the same errors. so i turned it off again and let it sit for a minute and turned it back on. the errors were gone but the service light was on. it seemed functional again. there are tons of similar situations reported online. the dealership is supposed to check it again.
Loses power on high way. bought car brand new in 2014. been happening since 2014 and 20 thousand miles. big safety consern when power is lost lose about 20 mph and the
I have had to replace my headlights every month or two. everytime i use my remote start, it blows a headlight.
Been having issues with my vehicle with stabilitak and sensors. my car starts shaking engine power is reduced to 10-15 mph. taken it to dealeship 6 different times and have been told that there is nothing wrong with it that they can figure out. almost got hit on the highway when my car abruptly went down to 15mph without any warning. car behind me had to swerve to the side to avoid impact. it doesn't matter whether i'm driving or slowing down for a red light it happens at all different times.
My vehicle only has 45,000 miles. the past few months, i have been experiencing problems with the motor as it suddenly loses potency as the vehicle is in motion. the check engine light is always on. when the motor loses potency, it puts "track control on" and "track control off" right away, as well as a sign to service "stabilitrack". i have taken the car to the mechanic and they did a computerized scan where it shows there are problems with the oxygen sensor, low air entrance, problems with the injectors, low voltage problem, brake system off, etc. in conclusion, a series of problems with the car which are not real. i have searched online and there are thousands to claims due to this same problem i am having. to this date, i have not found any recall of the manufacturer to fix this.
While driving my 2014 chevy traverse my stability track light and engine light came on loss of power the car jerks cannot control it can cause an accident happened more than once this is november 1, 2017 that happened or five times already call today to complain to chevy my car is now the dealership trying to figure out what is wrong with it
On october 13, 2017 i was driving on the highway going 50 mph. when suddenly the car de-accelerated its velocity at 15 to 20 mph. then notice the instrument panel displaying traction control on and cycling to off. it also displayed stabilizer control service with a flashing check engine light. it was very frightened when vehicles behind me had to come to a reduce speed almost resulting in an accident with the risk of getting hit on the back or tail of the vehicle. had to pull over changing from one of the two middle lanes at slow velocity which was a dangerous maneuver to make it to the shoulder. i've read this same issue on line with other owners on this type of vehicle. therefore a recall or an investigation with this issue should be done.
Service stabilitrak, reduced engine power, traction control off warnings all came on with no warning or reason. vehicle lost all power and wouldn't move. this is a known issue with many chevy models and years.
14 traverse fuel low light stays on, even after filling the vehicle up with a full tank of gas. gauge fluctuates and we cannot tell exactly how much fuel we have. very dangerous when driving children around.
Housing cases crack from the inside and water gets in. shorts out the fuse. constant changing on bulbs on headlamps and stop lamps. housing cases for lights cost more than car note. onstar not alerted by problem and i don't know until i'm driving and someone else flags me down. multiple people have almost rear-ended me.
Radio stays on after car is off and computer keeps saying tighten fuel cap and taction driver shuts off all sudden then check engine light comes on then resets and goes bacck to normal on its own
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet traverse. while driving 55 mph on the freeway, the vehicle started to veer to the left and right independently. the contact heard a ding noise and the vehicle felt like it would stall. in addition, the instrument panel indicators flickered and the electronic stability sensor and traction control indicator remained illuminated. the contact notified the dealer (mountain view chevrolet 1079 w foothill blvd, upland, ca 91786 909-985-2866) and was informed to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer stated that they would notify the dealer and would call the contact back within 24 hours. the failure mileage was 80,000.
