I purchased a 2010 traverse from molle chevy in blue springs 3 years ago. we have 61,000 miles and were sent letters to go have more recalls and "special adjustments" done. (chevy's way of more recalls without calling them that) besides many other codes, this weeks p0008 code is a known timing chain issue. since we took it in and it wasn't one of the special adjustments, they made us pay for the $90 diagnostic, wouldn't give me the car until i paid. offered for "us" to pay and fix the problem and they would split the cost with us, went from $2,700 to $863, what a deal! it is a known defect! why should we pay a $1, we already paid for the vehicle??? after holding are car hostage for the $90 and offering for us to pay for gm's fix, we have decided to check all reacall's and buy used with the least amount. i really hope the people get a dose of what they give in life. they have these people trained to sell a line of crap all the way from purchase to end of life on the vehicle. i know they are a necessary evil, but buyers beware, cars are the biggest waste of money, stress, and time. they don't pay for all your time for the recalls, why? buy a cheaper used car and check the recalls before you do. don't buy new, you don't know what's wrong with them yet. no one looks cool in an costly car with a ton of issues. life's to short. i would say don't go to chevy but they are all similar to a point. good luck, my traverse is being sold this week. sorry to whoever buys it from carmax. always research!!!!! always buy at least a year old, gives time to find issues, 2 is better.
My traverse just pulled a p0008 and p0017 engine code. after bringing it to the mechanic, i had an oil flush and induction system cleaning. the following day the p0008 code when off again. this is specific for the timing chain and cylinder heads. apparently there was a recall and warranty extension for 08-09 chevy traverses however that has not transferred over to my particular model year. my vehicle is 1 year out of warranty with only 63,000 miles on it. my repairs are to be an estimated $4,000 - $6,300 but am being offered a 50/50 split that i feel is still unacceptable on a vehicle with only 63,000 miles.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. the contact stated that the vehicle drove abnormally rough and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. an independent mechanic diagnosed that the timing chain stretched and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
Engine was running rough; vehicle was sluggish. check engine light came on. dealership, burlington chevrolet, ran a diagnostic and there were some failed codes (p0011 and p008), all related to the camshaft and timing chains. to repair, it would cost about $2,700 since i was six months over the powertrain warranty. they contacted gm and they stated that it would cost me $681 plus tax. i agreed to have the repairs completed which also included replacing the waterpump which was leaking. i have read online that timing chain problems on have occurred more frequently on 2007-2010 chevy traverse, saturn outlook, gmc acadia, and buick enclave. all of these suv's have the 3.6 liter v6 engine with dual overhead cams. what is happening on these vehicles is that the timing chains are stretching which leads to correlation errors with the cam sensors and actuators. after 2010, general motors has seemed to correct the problem with updated chains and ecm calibrations.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. the contact stated that the power steering rack and the power steering pump failed and needed to be replaced. the details were not available. in addition, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of failure. the failure mileage was 75,827.
I was driving on highway going 70mph. traction control/stabilitrak off came on dash along with park assist off. i felt the engine lose power and speed dropped to 25mph. i has to swerve and miss several cars from hitting me due to this reduce speed on the highway. pressed on the peddle to speed up and the engine would not go past 1st gear ( well at least that's what it felt like) i had the car towed home. to afraid to drive. took it to our shop and nothing was registered on the diagnostic code. car seems fine now, just afraid to drive. is there a recall for this?
I have a 2010 chevy traverse with 67,000 miles on it. check engine light comes on and detects timing chains. take it to the dealership and $3200 later had new timing chains put on. there is no way with that amount of mileage that this should have to be repaired yet. when is this recall going to take effect!!!! on top of that the warranty expired in march, so no help what so ever..... gm needs to step up.
My car could have gotten me killed. i was on my way to work, stopped at a stop sign and when i mashed the gas to go it said stability track off ,motor reduced. my car literally was in the road with traffic coming. there was no way to turn it off . another day i had to pull over on a four lane because it done the same and wouldn't go. this is so dangerous to anyone who has these chevy traverse.i have looked at many reviews and this is a big complaint out of hundreds of people on the same issue. it's a matter of time before someone is killed. it's not safe for an individual much less a family, because you never know when it's going to shut down. no shop can fix this problem. i've had new tires, sensor, and reset and it doesn't work. please consider looking at all the reviews on these cars.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the stabilitrac and motor power reduced indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact stated that the vehicle was shut off, restarted, and returned to normal for a few miles before the failure recurred. the contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but it could not be diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 160,000.
My traverse just pulled a p0008 and p0017 engine code. after bringing it to the mechanic, i had an oil flush and induction system cleaning. the following day the p0008 code when off again. this is specific for the timing chain which is directly affecting the cam and crank positioning (creating sluggish performance and poor fuel economy) apparently there was a recall and warranty extension for 08-09 chevy traverses however that has not transferred over to my particular model year, which was built in 09 but sold as an 2010. the vehicle is 8 months out of warranty with only 66,000 miles on it. -(please note service bulletin 10287c date of issue april 13, 2012) (also note the letter sent to owners about the ecm reprogramming, did not resolve the problem and warranty extension would be provided for 10 years 120,000 miles)
Car stalled out 1 month prior to this particular incident in the middle of a residential intersection. check engine light did not come on either. took the car into goodyear for a check and nothing showed up on their computer, car was driven for 20 min without incident either. was advised to try and use a fuel injection flush. gasoline could be smelled inside the car after the stalling incident. 9/13/15: while driving on the freeway the check engine light came on, car started to slow down dramatically. strong smell of gasoline started to seep into the car. car finally stalled out as we approached the shoulder lane. the smell of gasoline was very strong at this point, inside and outside. car was towed to goodyear. hooked up car to the computer and there were 6 things wrong with the car. was told to take it into the chevy dealership where i bought the car in 2010. owner of goodyear store also informed us that prior to our car coming in, 3 cars of the same make, model, and year came in this past year for the same problem. they advised all of the other 2010 chevy traverse owners to go back to the dealership. brought in the car to dealership. upon starting up my car, the entire service area started to smell of gasoline. car was hooked up to the computer and i was then told that i would have to pay $2200 to fix the "multiple problems". the 5 out of 6 fuel injectors were misfiring. fuel pump, injectors, spark plugs, and more need to be replaced. check engine light never turned on once since i bought this car in 2010, until the incident on 9/13/15 on the freeway. my warranty just ran out in may of this year, without incident! now that my warranty has expired, this happens!
Traction control warning light flashed on and off several times. when it was on the steering became difficult. tried to pass a slow moving truck. engine rpms when up but vehicle did not accelerate. check engine light came on. had mechanic check code and the following codes show up u0121, u0073 and u0121 he stated a product safety notice #14515b had been issued for this problem. contacted a chevy dealer and was told this was not a recall issue.
I have had the power train repaired twice, once while under warranty, and then at cost. i have paid more than $2k on the repair and yet the check engine light stays on and a check of the error codes reveals the same problem. the vehicle has failed emissions testing as a result of the problem. i've seen numerous complaints on this site with the same issues. there's definitely a defect within this model year's engine system involving the power train. i am requesting an investigation and possible recall. i can't put out more money to fix a maintenance problem that will never be fixed. the car shakes as if it's idle when driving and the check engine light blinks off and on profusely. i'm afraid to drive it fearing something terrible will happen. the car was taken to waldorf chevrolet. they are not cooperative with providing service details, one because they claim to have a new system. and they are not helpful with understanding why the power train continues to be an issue after they "repaired" it. i do have a copy of the repair documents it needed. also, one set of seat belts in the second row have fallen apart on its own (meaning there were being used as designed and the fastener just crumbled)
Timing chain is stretched after 102,000 miles; repair is $2500; gm extended the warranty for this problem on 2007 to 2009; the same problem exists for 2010 but gm has not extended the warranty; oil was changed regularly; timing chain should not go after 5 yrs, 100k miles. gm must extend warranty for this model year due to this ongoing design flaw.
I am writing you this letter to file an official complaint against general motors regarding my 2010 chevy traverse. on august 6th 2015, while driving my car 55mph, the engine seized causing loss of power steering and power breaks. as you can imagine, this put my family in a dangerous situation. our licensed mechanic told us the reason the engine seized is a 'spun rod barring.' we were told that a spun rod barring is a very uncommon mechanical issue and extremely uncommon in a car that is only 5 years old with only 71k miles on it. i called general motors while the car was being repaired to discuss the problem. they were quite rude and refused to discuss the issue because i did not take my car to a certified gm repair shop. therefore, i decided to send gm a letter explaining the situation. attached is a copy of the letter, maintenance records, and photos of the spun rod barring i sent to gm. gm customer service called me on multiple occasions and verbally told me that they would not reimburse me or even look into the issue because 'i did not take my car to a certified gm repair shop for the repair.' i asked customer service multiple times to send me this information in writing and they refused. to refuse standard customer service and avoid taking responsibility for a poorly engineered and manufactured engine simply because i did not take my car to a certified gm repair shop is inexcusable. i hope that you can assist me in receiving reimbursement for replacing the engine in my car and requiring gm to recall the engine. if you need any additional information please let me know. i have more documents than the website allows me to submit.
Car was parked and running, turned off the key and pulled it out of ignition and the car stayed running. had to put key back in and turn 'on', then turned off and it turned off the way it should. concerned how this will affect my steering/electrical/brakes/ and anything else that the ignition affects.
Engine appears to have a significant loss of power. code p0008 comes up on the code reader and scanning the engine with a scan tool reveals that the timing chain is having issues. with some research i found nhtsa reference- 10043857 and tsb reference- sb-11340 for this issue. gm states that it was an issue with 2006 to 2009 models. i feel though that the problem has not gone away with the 2010 model as the customer service lady at gm seems to indicate. i also have heard that gm has extended the coverage to 10 years / 120k miles for this issue. im getting nowhere with gm so far!
I have been hearing noise coming from vehicle for the last 2months,i have had 3 recalls on my vehicle in the last year.the noise is coming from the engine area, they meaning the machanics cannot figure out where the noise is coming from. theyhave finally figured it out and its coming om the engine/also there was a recallon the anti freeze container and i brought it to kerbeck in atlantic city they said there is no problems/there is a leak coming from somewhere!! this veh is not worth my time and energy. should i repair the product after there was a recall and no problems,im disgusted by this matter and if i could get a hold of a gm i would tell him where my thoughts are on this veh..
Brought the 2010 chevy traverse to dealer for a leaking water pump that was fixed under warranty in november. vehichle was in reduced power mode once it was started up after work was completed on water pump. at that time i was informed the timing chain was stretched and had to be replaced. the gm dealer quoted me $1834 to replace. unacceptable at this mileage for a timing chain to be stretched that much. gm needs to recall these vehichles for this and many other items and fix their junk that they turn out for top dollar. that isn't an easy tab to pick up for most of us.
The timing chains of the engine stretched prematurely cause engine service check light to activate. chains needed to be replaced to ensure proper functioning and prevent engine failure.
Apr.2015: vehicle constantly stalled, engine light on at less than 60k. oct. 2015: had to replace the starter twice and repair the fly wheel. repair costs=$2,000. engine light still on. timing chain problems, additional $2600 est. costs. vehicle needs inspection and will not pass with codes p0018-0007 stored. not fair that we should have to incure these costs. gm should cover this under their "special policy" for known issues with this. current vehicle mileage 80k. car is not safe to drive. engine could fail at any time.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. while driving above 50 mph in temperatures below 40 degrees, the "service stabilitrack, engine powering slow" message would display and the speed would suddenly reduce to approximately 30 mph. the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer and local dealer (hubler chevrolet in rushville, in) were notified and did not assist. the vin was invalid. the failure mileage was 60,000.
Truck was being driven on the freeway, driver accelerated to pass another vehicle and it acted as though it had run out of gas. it was pushed to the gas station and filled up with gas, then it wouldn't start and eventually the battery died. it was jump started and drove a few miles to the house with a knocking sound. independent mechanic evaluated it and said the engine is blown. it had regular maintenance, without missing an oil change, all maintenance has always been done on this vehicle since it was bought brand new in june of 2010. there were three safety recalls, one including a gas tank issue, and although several messages were left on the "recall hotline", no return call was ever received. mechanic says there is metal in the oil but the engine oil is not low.this vehicle is too new to have a blown engine. help! *tr
While driving around 40 mph several dtc codes appeared on the dic including stability service and engine power reduced. vehicle speed reduced significantly (20-30mph) while in moving traffic and extremely bad weather conditions. took vehicle to the dealer who reported codes of p0008 (timing chain stretched), p2610 (ecm faults) and p2101 or p1122 (not sure but dealer stated throttle body control error). vehicle is under 5 years old (purchased in aug 2010) and under 100,000 miles to timing chain and ecm were covered in full under gm warranty. throttle body coverage was removed in 2009 (per what i've read on the internet) and was not covered. dealer agreed to split cost (they covered labor, i paid for parts at dealer cost). good deal on the warranty and dealership's honorable effort to fix my 2010 chevy traverse but there are many complaints about the timing chain and throttle body and lost power while driving in traffic. this is a serious safety issue and gm should recall all vehicles involved and not wait until there is injury or death involved. *tr
On the way to longview texas, we were driving on the loop in palestine when the stabilitrak light came on, the check engine light came on, and park assist light came on. the vehicle lost power quickly and we had to cross two lanes of traffic to get to the shoulder. i am pregnant and my (xxx) year old was in the car. vehicle was towed, i had to pay for a rental car. the bacon chevrolet in palestine charged me $150 to run diagnostics and give me an oil change since that was due up. they fixed three recalls that were due on my vehicle i had owned for 1.5 yrs, then none of the lights came back on. again on may 12th, yesterday, my vehicle stabilitrac light came on, check engine light came on, and the vehicle rpm's would go to about 3,000 only driving 40 mph. i was able to make it home and parked the car. my husband came out to check on it and the stabilitrak light had gone off but check engine light is still on. i called local dealership tom light chevy and was told "there have been no issues with this", they must not get the internet there. this has been a huge problem with multiple owners of both the traverse and the equinox (my sister has one that has the same issue) from the 2009 all the way to 2013 model from what i have seen. i want to know why there has been no recall and why we are paying to run diagnostics or to fix things when the lights come on again and tell us the issue is something else?! gm needs to do a recall or they are going to lose many customers with the way it is being handled. if these lights come on again soon, this will be three times in six months! i am looking at trading this vehicle in and telling everyone i know to stay aparts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).way from gm if this is handled improperly.
Me & my family were driving on the highway, doing 65 mph, & suddenly the chime in my vehicle goes off, & in the display window it reads service traction control, service stabilitrak & park assist off. also the engine light & i believe the stabilitrak light come on. then the vehicle just slows down & when i try to push the gas to go, it will not go over 20 mph. i put my hazard lights on & luckily i was just a few minutes from home. the next day i take my vehicle back to greg may honda where i purchased it, they put it on that machine & they said i would have to take it to a chevy dealership. that same day i take it & they tell me it's the throttle body. so i drive my vehicle home & try to come up with the money to make the repair & i take my vehicle to my personnel mechanic on feb 27, 2015, they replace the throttle body for $521.79 (i do have receipt). 3 months later on may 23, 2015 the same problem happened again while i was out of town. 3 months after that on aug 7, 2015 it did it. and again on sept 1, 2015. i purchased this vehicle used on nov 29, 2014, i only had it 3 months when it began to mess up on me. each time it happened i am either on a busy city street or on the highway. i have 5 children in my vehicle & this is extremely dangerous for my family.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. when the ignition was turned to the on position, the vehicle vibrated and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the failure recurred continuously. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 115,000.
Was driving my chevy traverse at around 45mph when suddenly received vehicle notifications stating "service traction control service stabilitrac and reduced engine power." immediately i was at a loss of engine power and was suddenly reduced to 15mph nearly being rear-ended. i had to vear off the road, shut the vehicle down, and then restart it only to make it another mile up the road before the symptoms occurred again. i was forced to repeat these steps 5 more times before making it to my destination. upon investigation of this mechanical issue i've learned of hundreds of other consumers experiencing the same exact symptoms with not one providing a repair solution. many have paid upwards of $500-$1000 in repair costs and are still experiencing the same problems. i have driven my vehicle twice since the first occurrence and each time experience the same symptoms. am i to pay for dealer repair when it seems there is no proper solution? i now have a $20000 vehicle that i don't feel safe putting my family in, which is ironically why i purchased it in the first place. i suppose i am forced to have it serviced at my local dealer but am certainly not optimistic about the results. this vehicle is a death trap! recall this very dangerous problem before someone is seriously injured or killed. *tr
I had my vehicle diagnosed with a timing chain issue that is common to this engine. gm has a special coverage adjustment (#11340a) that is having their dealerships changing out the defective timing chains up to the model year 2009. my vehicle is registered as a 2010 but has a build date of 11/09 and i believe should be included in this special coverage. i have been told by both gm and the dealership that they are going to be of no assistance in this matter. the repair will cost around $4500.00.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine while idling. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was taken to a chevrolet dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain was defective and the engine needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 67,000. the vin was not provided.
My 2010 traverse experienced a severe safety issue this morning. while driving approximately 65 mph, the traction control warning light illuminated and the engine speed was immediately reduced to approximately 15 mph. this occurred without warning and in heavy freeway traffic nearly causing my vehicle to be rear ended by several other cars. i turned on my hazard signal and managed to reach the road shoulder after traffic had cleared. after stopping for 10 minutes i restarted the vehicle in an attempt to drive to the closest dealer for service. after covering about 6 miles the same warning lights appeared and the vehicle speed was reduced again, but i manage to reach the dealership. at the chevrolet dealer the vehicle was diagnosed that the throttle body had failed & needed to be replaced. the dealer service department stated that this was not a warranty item. i paid the significant cost for the repair myself and contacted both gm & chevrolet division to notify them of the failure and ask for reimbursement for what is clearly a major safety issue. further research indicates that a significant number of traverse owners have reported the same problem and service reps at both chevrolet & gm said they were familiar with the issue but no recall has been issued from them. my case for cost reimbursement is still pending. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated while driving at unknown speeds. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the timing chain failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 113,000. updated 04/06/15*lj the consumer stated 2010 model year vehicles should be included in the special bulletin #11340. the vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense. updated 11/3/2015 *js
Tdc p008 is tripped in vehicle. it says something is wrong with the timing. it just happens that this code showed up the day after i had recall work on the vehicle for seat belts and airbags. they also checked the water pump for leaks. the dealer said that it has nothing to do with work they did the day before. *tr
Transmission slipped then vehicle surged ahead. soon after while traveling 40 mph an alarm sounded with the message "traction control off" and "service stabilitrac / engine power reduced" and the vehicle slowed rapidly. *tr
On the highway doing around 65 mph, alarm chimes went off, display center showed "service stabilitrak", "service traction control", "engine power reduced". the car quickly decelerated to 10 mph and would not go any faster. had to pull over and shut down. this was only one of the many times this has happened over the past year and a half. it has been in and out of the service center, diagnosed with 4 or 5 different issues, repaired 2 or 3 components all with the same outcome: the engine power reduced issue comes back. the dealer tells me it's a "new issue" every time so at this point i have no faith in their "fixes", i feel that when my wife, kids, or me are in the car i will eventually be in a horrific accident where we all die and hope that at least this message will come out then. gm has been sort of helpful but from my research/dealings with this issue (30+ hours), it seems like something that should have been recalled on several different model gm automobiles. i am at a loss. i haven't fixed the most recent issue ($700, transmission internal mode switch) in hopes that, using my own research/technical expertise, i can find the real issue behind these failures and not just what the "computer error codes" are pointing too. the irony in this "feature" is that, from my understanding, it goes into this engine power reduced mode for safety reasons so that you won't lose control of the car or other problem. yet reducing the engine power on a busy highway or the pa turnpike where there is nowhere to safely pull over is the most dangerous problem of all. notes for other consumers: so far the mechanic has flushed the throttle body (cleaned it), and replaced the timing belt . taking to a different mechanic for a 2nd opinion on the most recent internal mode switch diagnosis.
While at a stop sign our 2010 traverse shut off. it powered down everything, it would start up again but would shut down several times again. my son was in the passenger seat and noticed when he pressed down on a certain spot on the passenger side floor the car shut off. we have our car at the chevrolet place now and they were very skeptical until my son placed his foot on the spot and the car shut down right in front of them. they will be looking at the car monday 10/13/14 to see what the problem is. this car in no longer under warranty, i would think this is chevrolet problem with the traverse. (?) *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet traverse. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle went into power safe mode and stalled without warning. the dealer stated that the throttle body needed to be cleaned. the throttle body was cleaned, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and decided to replace the throttle body. the failure mileage was 40,000.
I was driving and i heard the check engine alert (3 dings). the warning said service traction control service stabilitrak. after that, the car would take longer and i had to press a lot harder on the gas to accelerate. there are about 3 forums which all include complaints like this however the dealer is saying they will not recall the throttle body which is the part that they are replacing. the throttle body is also in several other gmc vehicles such as the acadia *tr
July 2014 my traverse had around 67,000 miles on it, and it had started overheating. we took it to a chevrolet dealership and had the issue taken care of. we had also asked them to address the recalls that we had received notice on.one issue was fixed, and on the invoice they had made note that they would contact us when the other recall parts were in. for 2 months, no phone call from them.we had received no call that the parts were in.then the end of september while driving back from the coast, i heard a noise that sounded like a cap being clicked by a teen. blamed my niece, but after reading the legal documents on the lawsuit, it had to have been the same thing. the next issue that would be what i consider the last straw with this vehicle.in the next day or so, it became hard to turn at low speeds.we checked steering fluid, and it was low but no where near empty.we added additional fluid and thought that was the fix.the steering issue continued to worsen.driving into work i needed to turn off the main hwy onto a st., during the morning rush hour.i was barely able to make the turn. it took all i could do to turn. was very scary, and i was thankful that our children were not in the car.when i arrived to work, i was unable to pull into the parking lot of the office. i ended up having to park on the st due to being unable to effectively turn.we took the traverse to a different chevrolet dealership to find out that the pump, rack and pinion, strut and cv boot were failing. found this to be very odd, most often a cv boot wears out on a vehicle with higher miles than the 70,000miles.cost to repair is at $2500.00, due to chevrolet for the neglect. now we are looking for a different vehicle and they only want to offer 14,000 trade in?a $40,000 vehicle worth near 1/4 of what we have paid for it in only 4 years.it is now worth nothing, but i'm upside down on an loan! *tr
My car engine continues to run while the key is out of the ignition. this has happened several times, i have to put the key in and try turning the ignition off several times before the engine will actually shut down, after each incident this drains my battery and then my car requires to be jumped it also has takes several attempts to get the car running again and sometimes after this happens it puts my car in "limp" mode meaning the car will not shift out of second gear while driving it. i took the car back to the chevy dealer (bob steele in cocoa fl) explained to them the issues and told them i have googled the issues as well and that lots of people are having the same problem with the engine still running while the key is in their hand and chevy stated they never heard of this before. the dealer called and stated that it would cost me $200.00 to replace my ignition in my car which i did and that would fix the engine running issue and would fix the "limp" mode issue. the repair lasted a week and then i stopped to get gas and the car would not shut off again after several attempts of turning the key to the off position it finally shut down, after getting gas it took several attempts for the car to turn back on ( at this time it did not go into "limp" mode) i took the car directly back to the dealer who has had the car for four days now. i just recieved a call from the chevy dealer stating it would now cost me $1200.00 to repair the fuse box and wiring that has some how become wet in my glove compartment.. again i stated that i am not the only person having this problem and that other people have also been told that they have water in their fuse box (which i assume should of been sealed properly to prevent this from happening)so i am now driving a car that refuses to shut off or can put itself into "limp" mode affecting the driving ability of the car. *tr
Having hard steering at low speeds! have read many threads about this! also have had oil being sucked up into engine intake and burned into engine causing premature converter and o2 sensor failure! also have check engine light for p0008 due to crankshaft reluctor moving? *tr
Throttle body went out at 66000 k miles. was told by dealership that the sensor on throttle body shorted out. at the point that it went out. power to the engine was reduced and car immediately decelerated, almost causing an accident. *tr
I was driving on the expressway at a speed of 55mph when i heard a ding sound, my stabilitrak light came on and the dash board read "service stabilitrak". another ding sound was made and my dash board then read "engine reducing speed" and my suv immediately began to reduce my speed to 25mph.. immediately had to get over to the side so that no other cars or trucks would crash into me.. i drove it for another week and the same thing happened again while pulling out of my parking lot. took to dealer and behold they told me it was the throttle body the same that others online were told. and yes just as others have mentioned online, its not covered under the power train warranty although it reduces your engine power. many have had the throttle body replaced only to have the same problem happen again a few months later. this is happening to numerous amounts of people that have gm cars, suv's, and trucks. this can not be a coincidence that this many people have had the same scenario and problem happen to them. this is a very dangerous situation to be on an expressway and have your speed be reduce immediately. i had my kids in the car and even they were scared of what occurred. this is very dangerous when you have trucks and semi's driving behind you, they can not stop that fast. does someone have to die in an accident before there is a recall on this matter?? *tr
This vehicle was taken to champion chevrolet for a recall for a failing water pump seal. during that analysis, the power steering pump and rack assembly was found to be low on oil and with metal shavings in the pinion rack was near failure. the failure mode on this model and all traverses, enclaves, and acadias is the ultimately steering lock and a probably crash. this is a definite recall item that should be finally determined by nhtsa for all years of this vehicle. the repair estimate is over $2600 as the entire front engine assembly has to be removed. other owner experiences indicate that this repair is widespread in these gm models and is a serious safety issue. *tr
driving to our work christmas party on the hwy then suddenly 3 chimes and "traction control off, service steadily track, engine power reduced" shows on dash board. we pull over to the nearest safe location. turn the vehicle off for about 5 min. then start again, we drive 5 miles then the exact same thing again. we end up having to pull over another 4 times before we reach our destination. next daytook it in to chevy dealership, charged me 100 diagnostic fee. told me it was throttle body needed replacing , and sparkplugs and injectors needs changed. total was going to be about $1200, i declined because i was told i had "bumper to bumper" extended warranty. come to find out none of the repairs were covered by this "bumper to bumper" warranty. this is definitely a problem that is found on a lot of chevy vehicles and needs to be taken care of. we spend so much money on these vehicles for chevy not to accept there is obviously a safety concern here, and they need to be responsible.....first and last gm vehicle we will ever own for sure. *tr

On the day of purchasing the vehicle, only seconds after signing the contract, i was told the vehicle could not be driven because of safety recalls. had to wait three weeks before getting the vehicle i purchased, very nervous after that situation. then after only having the vehicle approximately 8 months the power steering pump, water pump, and leaking hoses went out with over $1,500 in repairs. three days after the second incident they called, after i brought the vehicle in for more business to get an oil change, tires rotated and a safety check, and they told me the tires were unsafe and they would not rotate the tires. they further stated that they would replace the tires for approximately $800. i am now on the fifth (5th) day without the family vehicle and very stressed. a 20 year veteran retired from the united states marines is asking for your support and assistance to make a bad deal right. here is my statement on the last 9 months with dealing with prince chevrolet of albany, 2701 ledo road, albany, ga 31707 and my breaking down lemon and vehicle. i am outraged that this is the type of customer service i am receiving from chevy and i want out of the contract. i no longer want anything to do with chevy or gmc. i hope to hear back from someone other than the local prince of albany staff, they are obviously giving me the run around. thank you prince chevrolet for not supporting your veterans and customers of georgia with the right service. a great way to show the example of the rich stealing from the poor. i am not rich enough or powerful enough to hold prince chevrolet of albany, 2701 ledo road, albany, ga 31707 accountable but ask that someone assist me so i can just get back to a normal life and transport my family around safely. *tr
I was driving through town back in february and my "service stabilitetrak" "traction control off" and "reduced engine power" lights come one. i took my car to the nearest dealership and paid $99 to find out what was wrong. they said i needed to replace the throttle body. the lights all went off on my way home so i thought it might be a fluke thing. well it just happened again 3 months later. i was going up a hill that has a immediate curve after it (we live in the mountains) and almost got rear ended because the car went from 55 to 25 as we were going up the hill and it wouldn't pick speed back up, the rpm's would just shoot up. this part is faulty part on many chevrolet traverse's and many other gm model's. on edmunds.com there are tons of people complaining about their throttle body's being bad and being dangerous. my four children all under the age of 5 could have been very badly injured or killed if that truck behind us didn't have good brakes. we were fortunate that we had a close call. i contacted gm and they referred me to a district specialist, but that person was suppose to call me back today between 1-3 and now it's 6:43 and they leave at 6:45, so i'm sure i won't hear from her today. i called to complain that she didn't call me during the time she was suppose to call, so now she has another 24 hours to call me and i doubt that will happen either. after this experience i don't think i'm ever going to buy another gm vehicle again, they're not issuing recalls on the parts that need to be and it's putting people's lives at risk. *tr
