The headlights will go out while driving the vehicle. there is currently a recall for this problem for trailblazers. it is gm safety recall 14291. the problem is the headlamp driver module. i contacted gm. after giving them my vin number, they told me that my vehicle is not included in the recall. the problems i was having matched exactly what this recall is fixing. i believe my vehicle should be included.

When driving with headlamps on low beam, intermittently both headlamps will go out. this happen to me while driving down a steep, curvy, highway on a rainy night. i was facing an oncoming big truck, in a sharp curve. dimmed my lights and everything went totally black on my vehicle. all i hear is the horn of a big truck as the driver is trying to avoid my vehicle. i called my dealership and took my vehicle in only to be told that this make and model is not on recall, yet. so i am out of pocket for the repair, while other gm vehicles are on recall for this same problem. called gm, was basically told, no recall, your problem. i have been a gm customer for 30 years, not anymore.

Low beam lights would not work. my vin is not included in the current recall for the same issue. repair shop replaced the defective relay. part cost=$200.35.

There is an existing recall but my vehicle is not covered according to gm. the recall is: headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash. recall number: 15v519000 my car experienced this same exact problem and i had to get it fixed at a chevy dealer but now gm is refusing to reimburse me or consider this part of the recall because of where the car was built.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the headlights failed to operate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlamp driver module failed and would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Vehicle was parked for a few hours when went to start up to leave both low beam headlights/daytime running lights suddenly went out and have not come back on. fuses are good and bright lights work also low beam bulbs are good.

Problem with fatality risk. in aug 2016 low beam headlights and running lamp began turning off randomly, intermittently. will usually work when vehicle is first started, fail in transit. increases in frequency, progresses to failure. on lit streets,i have no indication that i am essentially invisible. relay replaced by dealer, paid for 10/1/16. mileage 137k at that time. began failing again 7/2017. drm module had failed. part alone cost $267. prior to dealer repair, i had tried auto parts store modules as well, and each 2 burned out within 1-2 months. gm has issued a recall for this very problem, i think number 14921, established may 2016. it includes 2006-2007 trailblazers. they extended it to 12 years old or 150k miles, whichever first. i contacted gm. they me that my vin does not come up so they will not cover this. will not tell me what disqualifies my vehicle, other than vin not coming up. did online chat with the rep and s/he said that i have to file a complaint with you, no internal complaint department, nobody i can appeal to within gm for help. i have another appointment to fix this, but no assurance that it won't just keep failing, since this is the 4th time i have done a repair in 2 years, i purchased the vehicle 3 years ago, so this may have been a recurring problem prior to my owning it. i do not have a copy of the repair bills from last year, but my appointment for next repair is this coming tuesday, 9/5/2017.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that there was an electrical short and the front passenger side low beam light failed to illuminate. the contact replaced the bulb, but the failure recurred. the second time, the front passenger and driver side low beam lights failed to illuminate. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v599000 (visibility). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. the approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Recall number 14v755000 recall date 11/26/2014 component exterior lighting:headlights summary general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 buick lacrosse, 2006-2007 buick rainier, chevrolet trailblazer, gmc envoy, 2006 chevrolet trailblazer ext, gmc envoy xl, 2006-2008 isuzu ascender, and saab 9-7x vehicles. in the affected vehicles the headlamp driver module (hdm) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to then fail and not illuminate. 2007 trailblazer is being recalled for lighting issues. my 2007 trailblazer is experiencing same issues but i was told by gmail that mine was not one recalled

Front lights go off while driving

Low beam headlight failure. while driving at night, the low beam headlights randomly fail. the vehicle is in motion. when they fail, i can't see in front, and on surface roads, oncoming traffic can't see me. the vehicle was recalled for this very reason, and my vehicle is in that group, but when the vin number was checked my vehicle wasn't on that list. i don't have the recall number, but i found out online my vehicle should be included in that recall.

While driving on the highway the loe beam lights flickered on and off and shut off for a couple of seconds. the driver door window switch continually malfunctions while driving and stationary windows won't roll up or down and the fuel level gauge works sometimes and other times it won't

Dem lights are going out for about 30 seconds to a minute, then coming back on while driving on the road.

My low beam and daytime running lights stopped functioning last week. i found there was a recall for this, but only for certain vehicles. gm needs to expand this to cover all trailblazers manufactured in 2007. i contacted gm and was told in spite of problem they would not cover the repair. i had to drive home on interstate highway at 10:00 pm 85 miles using high beam headlights.

While night driving in the city or highway the headlights just die. leaving the car with no lights and in total darkness. unfortunately i have to use high beams to continue my trip. using the high beams causes blinding of the oncoming traffic until i can safely reach my destination. the light stay out on average about half an hour.

While driving my vehicle last night the headlamps would turn off for no apparent reason. it did this several times. i was driving in town and on country roads.

1) headlights would not come on; there is a recall noted but dealer said it did not cover my car based on vin # 2)have been losing pressure in fuel tank; replaced cap and problem continues; dealer thanks it the evaporator device on top of fuel tank

I have no low beam light or daytime running lights. i do have side marker lights along with turn signal and tail lights. the problem started on 12/2015 and again on 03/14/2016.

The low beam and daytime running lights will not come on. some vin numbers are covered under recall for this problem but chevrolet says my vin number isn't listed.

My lights went out while i was driving on saturday march 12, 2016. my boyfriend was with me when it happened. his name is [xxx] and [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that while driving at various low speeds, the headlights, and daytime running lights malfunctioned. the contact stated that the failure was intermittent over a period of 10 miles. bergstrom chevrolet of middleton, wisconsin located at 3605 tribeca drive, 53562, was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was out of the mileage warranty coverage of 150,000. the failure mileage was 148,000.

Loss of both drl's and headlights while driving at night, while vehicle was in motion on interstate 10.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving at various speeds, the low beam headlights suddenly malfunctioned and shut off. the contact indicated that the light bulbs were replaced several times, but the failure continued. the cause of the failure was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v5190000 (exterior lighting). the contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the failure mileage was 141,000.

The headlights on the vehicle go out at random times, several times while driving at night the lights have gone out, the last time i was entering a highway and ended up using the high beams so i wouldn't go off the road. this is a very dangerous safety concern.

There is time the key will keep turn engine over even when you let go of key , #2 headlamp and daytime driving lite sometimes won't won't work properly. and the last thing is my driver side master doesn't work properly when it rain.

While driving my headlights will quit working and cease to turn on until after sitting for a few hours. after driving and and parking, sometimes the headlights will fail to turn on after starting vehicle. my headlights are having the very same issues as mentioned in gm recall 14291 where issues with the headlamp driver module (hdm) overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to then fail and not illuminate. i contacted chevrolet and they refused to cover the issue under the recall stating it is vin specific and my vin was not under recall. this issue has been occurring for several months and is very dangerous.

The low beam headlights will go out (off) without our doing anything. one occasion occurred on i-4 west bound from orlando. have read of other people having the same problem., yet no recall. do accidents and injuries have to happen before action is taken.? it is occurring more frequently than before and will happen under any conditions. has been occurring for a couple years.

Oct 15, 2015 headlights turned off while driving at night. short trip on local streets finished without lights. dealer, 10-16-15, replaced hcm fuze #53. nov 3, 2015 headlights again turned off while driving at night. trip finished with fog lights. owner replaced hcm fuze #53. nov 12, 2015 headlights again failed while driving at night. trip finished with fog lights. owner felt hcm, it was very hot. lights turned on again in morning after hcm cooled. fuze not replaced. vehicle mileaage is approx 70,000. this vehicle vin not included in gm recall #14291. this is definitely a serious safety issue!

Headlights go out occasionly while driving at night. it does not happen all the time. looks to me exactly like recall 14v755000 / gm # 14291. gm says it could not be that because my trailblazer does not have those parts that they know are defective? i am skeptical. where it asks for date this happened i put the last date it occurred.

While driving on the inter state at 8;30 pm both the low beam headlights failed i moved the light switch from auto to manual with no affect. the fog lights and high beam lights continued to work. however using the high on the interstate could affect on coming drivers so where the highway was lighted i used the fog light. got home off interstate using high beams. next morning the daytime lights and low beams working however shortly after driving to store the lights again were not operative stopped at pep boys and asked them about it and they said they could make sure bulbs were okay but normally both bulbs don't fail at the same . later in the afternoon tried lights and both daytime and low beams worked. a friend told me gm was having trouble with 2006 and 2007 trail blazers with the light just shutting off and a module was believed to be problem. apparently gm has known about this problem and was suppose to recall the vehicles yet they did not warn anyone one about this issues however people with earlier trail blazers have been having problems also. even if gm is trying to decide on a recall fix they and the government should mandate that they at least warn the vehicle owners and tell him how to fix the problem. i have have not received any notices about the low beam lights as a point of reference my lights failed on an over pass down ramp and caught me totally by surprise thank god it was not a two lane secondary road with on coming traffic. its time to force gm to deal with the problem. i am taking car to the local dealer to see how they deal with it. i have also seen on the internet you can get a module at local auto parts store i am looking into this tomorrow since i live in florida and soon it will be dark at 5 o"clock and i will be constantly driving home in dark on the interstate.

My 2007 chevrolet trailblazer had low beam headlights not working when i turn them on. i have to drive at night with high beam lights (they work fine) and i am very annoying to other drivers. i had vehicle checked out and fuses and light bulbs appear fine. i understand this is a common occurrence. i need it fixed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving 25 mph, the low beam head lamps failed to function. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the head lamp module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact was aware of nhtsa campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting); however, the vin was not included. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 108,000.

Solid state relay module for low beam - high beam headlights. when driving at night, both low beam headlights went out at the same time. was able to switch to high beams to continue home, but not without blinding other vehicles. replaced the solid state relay at a local autozone store. this relay is a single point failure, which an un-experienced driver could have had a possible accident if the person did not know what to do quickly in a calm manner.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced intermittent failure of the front head lamp. the failure was experienced on several occasions. the vehicle was diagnosed that the head lamp driver module failed. the vehicle was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

At approximately 9:00 pm i was traveling on a rural road at highway speeds and suddenly my headlights went out. the headlamps were on low-beam at the time. i checked the headlight switch and it was in the proper position. i switched the headlights to high-beam and the lights came back on. i researched the issue and it appears that a 'headlight driver module' is to blame. this module appears to be a significant source of failure. this is a terrible design flaw. something as important as headlights should not be subject to such a poor quality device. i would like to see no devices between the battery and the headlight switch and the headlight switch and the lights.

I got into my car to go somewhere and noticed that my lights did not appear to be on. i got out of my car to verify that they were not on and realized that indeed they had not come on. tried turning on my light to auto and they still did not come on.

Vehicle daytime running lamps and low beam headlamps failed again. took to dealership but was closing time. dealer documented failure but did not have time to diagnose. manufacturer notified of failure (up to executive level) but refused to include my vin in the existing recall campaign for headlamp failures. husband, who is a mechanic, switched hdm module with fan module, and headlamps came back on. this points to same type of failure included in existing campaign. please get these vin's included in the recall. mileage was 88,122 for this failure. previous failure also reported. impossible to get dealer to diagnose this when driver has mostly noticed low beam headlamp failure at night--when dealers are closed. what is the driver supposed to do when gm refuses to provide assistance with replacing the part--simply because they insist that a dealer firmly diagnose it. they cannot diagnose it if they're not open for business!!! see campaign number 14v755000. note that high beam headlamps work just fine--just as the vehicles that **are**included in the recall!!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the driver and passenger side low beam headlights failed to function due to the head lamp driver module overheating. also, the fuse box melted and there were no flames visible. whenever the vehicle was driven at night, the high beam headlights were activated. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. after starting the vehicle, the low beam headlights failed to illuminate. the vehicle was diagnosed, but not repaired. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Headlamps failed while driving. driver switched from high beam headlights to low beams. nearly crashed when low beam lights failed to work. all other lamps functioning properly. after stopping, driver tried to switch the lights on and still failed. only high beam lamps functioning. vehicle can no longer be driven at night. i have been registered owner of this vehicle for past 5 years and was not notified of this recall by gm.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving, the headlights failed without warning. the contact had to utilize the high beams. the dealer stated that there were no recalls. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 220,000.

Third brake light trim fell off vehicle wile traveling on highway at fast rate of speed. vehicles behind had to swerve to miss flying parts. have seen this is a common problem. very dangerous situation. updated 9/15/15 *ln.... updated 09/30/15*bf updated 11/07/2017*cn
