My fuel gauge began to move sporadically. when my fuel tank was full it would register as empty or if i was low on gas it would register as full, or half a tank. eventually it stopped working entirely. i had one incident, because of the gauge working incorrectly in which i did run out of gas on the highway and was forced to exit. fortunately i had enough momentum to make it up the off ramp safely without incident, and it was early morning so traffic was light enough to allow and easy exit. however, i had to call my wife to bring me gasoline to refuel and make it to the nearest gas station. i have been using my trip odometer to track my mileage and refuel accordingly. i did contact the dealership regarding this issue; they informed me there was no recall. they did not inform me about this site or how to file a complaint. i was told that with parts (fuel sensor) and labor it would be a $400 repair and that the issue was common. i had no guarantee the new part would work any better, and after searching online, found that this part fails commonly after 50k miles. i do not want to spend $400 every 50,000 miles, for a part that should last the entire life of the vehicle.
I have a 2007 chevy trail blazer. i filled up with gas and a few days later thinking i had gas went on my way. not 20 minutes later my whole truck shut down on the toll road, with my 8 and 5 year old children. due to the fact my gas gage is now no longer working? i had to call my husband to go get gas and put some in. i almost crashed into a stone cinder block due to this. *tr
Throttle body does not kick down when coming off freeway. you have to put a lot of pressure on the brakes to slow vehicle down. driving in the city is fine but idle stays high when coming off of the freeway. *tr
I have 2007 trailblazer and the fuel gauge just decided it does not want to work anymore after my mother in law had it for like 8 months. i got it from them march 2010 and the gauge didn't work.... i have reported it to the dealer and "it is not covered". it is rather expensive to get fixed..... i have never gotten this fixed because it was not covered under warranty and i do not have the money to fix this. i think that this is kinda like a lemon law thing. just thought i would report this and maybe get some help.. surely mine is not the only one......... this should be covered or fixed free of charge because it is not something we have done to the vehicle..... **** the date of the incident is really unknown.. i do not remember because it started not working when my mother in law had it. but it stopped working when she had car an i got it in march of 2010. the mileage right now in 2011 is 75,000 so it is not wear and tear there's no way it can be......... thank you- *tr
I have a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer ls and the fuel gauge began to fluctuate between full and empty 0 ultimately staying on empty... this i found is a common problem with the trailblazers and has been for awhile - many business associates have the same problem with different years of trailblazer... what a rip-off, i feel that chevrolet should have a recall to correct this - they are worse than toyota. *tr
My wife filled the trailblazer up with gas and when she got back in and started the vehicle the low fuel warning sounded and the message came across on the message center. after driving for a while she noticed that the fuel sensor was moving up and the low fuel message had gone away. although, when she reentered her suv after work the same thing happened again the same day just a few hours later. *tr
My 2007 new trailblazer started on fire while it was off and parked for over 12 hours in may of 2008. after 2 and 1/2 months of not having my truck it was determined to be an electrical short. gm admitted it was a fault of theirs seeing as my truck was not even a year old and purchased new. ever since the car was returned back to me the indicator lights go on and off and today i was driving and the check engine came on. i immediately took it in to have it looked at and was told that there is an electrical short and a fire could have started again had i not brought this in sooner. so for the 2nd time i am risking my life everytime i drive this truck! *tr
This vehicle has had a number of electrical and /or computer problems. the first set of tires on the vehicle were worn out because the computer would say they had low pressure, so we would fill them and check them with the onboard tire pressure, otherwise it would continue to say the tires were low. the gas gauge goes from full to empty and back at least 10 times a day, they say at the service dept it's the fuel sending switch. service stabilitrac warning comes on at various times. i think all warnings (lights and through the computer screen) have come on at least one time, some we had to stop the car and look up what the light was in the book. now the ignition switch has something wrong, the steering wheel will not lock when the car is shut off and the key is removed. then the car won't start unless you work the key and the switch. today it started and then quit when you let go of the key and it goes to the run position. when you turn the key on, there is weird noise like electrical short or something. there have been problems with window switches and regulators.
I purchased my 2007 trailblazer in august 2007. starting around march 2009, the gas gauge began failing. i would fill the tank but the gauge would only register half a tank. eventually, the gauge completely quit working and sits on empty all of the time. as a result of this equipment failure/defect, my vehicle died once because i did not know i was out of fuel. because my vehicle had just gone out of warranty (50,000 miles), it was not covered by the dealer and i could not afford to replace the gauge, or fuel sensor, whatever the problem may be. since that time i have to follow the number of miles i put on the vehicle per fill up.
2007 trailblazer fuel sensor problem. chevy knows about the problem with the fuel level sensors, fuel from any vendor causes the fuel sensor to gum up with sulfur and other chemicals making it stick and read empty most of the time. it also sends a code to the monitoring system (check engine light). this light will not allow the vehicle to pass inspection at any time. chevy knows about the problem due to the 35 dollar bottle of cleaning fluid that was only carried by the chevy itself, their response states that this should cure the problem. understanding should cure the problem tell me (a mechanic) that this is absolutely not the first time this has occurred. *tr
Always states fuel low even after filling up. check engine light stays on. vehicle was 3 months out of warranty and only 30500 miles. *tr
Tl* the contact submitted an email and requested that the official ivoq be written verbatim to the email: i have a 2007 trailer blazer and had these problems for 2 years. gas gauge would show 1/4 to 1/2 tank but ran out of fuel twice. gauge shows empty all the time now. service department said it's a bad sensor in tank and will cost $ 800.00 to fix. this has been a problem with gm for 3 or 4 years. 1,000's of complaints on different forums. the failure mileage was 30,000. updated 09/27/11 *bf updated 10/11/11
Gas gauge does not function properly and drops to empty when there is gas in the tank. passenger side window does not go up and down. vehicle has been back to the dealership twice for electrical issues-dashboard and radio lights go on and off. problem was repaired in 2009 but is now re-occuring. *tt
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the fuel gauge failed and after filling the tank, the gauge read empty. the vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised him that they were unable to diagnose the failure. the contact stated that the fuel gauge was interfering with the odometer. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the fuel gauge did not indicate the accurate amount of fuel in the tank. the engine shut off several times because the gauge did not show that the fuel tank was empty. the vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the fuel sending unit was replaced. the current mileage was 82,169. the failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
