We have classified the 3 complaints from 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
My 2006 chevy trailblazer fuel gauge indicator went out. when you fill up the tank the gas gauge remains at empty. now i have no idea how much gas is in the tank. this is a public safety matter. i cannot and should not be expected to know how much gas i have in my car without a properly working gas gauge. if my car runs out of fuel and an accident occurs it would be totally avoidable. it is clear that there have been several hundred complaints regarding this issue and the ntsb opened an investigation into this matter but failed to act. i would be ok with paying to fix this issue if it was a rare occurrence but clearly there have been complaints and gm and ntsb are aware. ntsb would be complicit if an accident occurs because they did nothing to protect the individuals on the road. if the ntsb cannot make gm recall the vehicles for this safety problem than i am not sure what the ntsb does and i would advocate not funding this entity. please act on this matter and make gm recall and replace this faulty part before someone dies. *tr
On my 2006 chevrolet trailblazer lt my gas gauge shows i have an empty tank of gas at all times even immediately after filling up the tank. this has caused me to run out of gas four times on the highway with no restart. in both of this instances i had to walk on the highway and off an exit to fill up a gas tank and then walk back, one time being at 02:00 am. this is incredibly dangerous considering i could be hit by a car on the highway or stall where a breakdown lane is unavailable and cause an accident. the tank will never read anything else then empty with the gas light on as well. *js
I own a 2006 chevy trailblazer. my fuel gauge sensor is going out. i just filled my tank and it tells me it is empty. i am told chevrolet will pay half the costs but it will still cost me $200. i have had more problems with this vehicle than any i have previously owned. if this is such a well known problem with these vehicles why has there not been a recall? *tr
The gas gauge on my 2006 chevy trailblazer no longer works it started fluctuating at about 109,000 miles now i'm at about 150,000 and it hasn't worked for months now. my wife has run out of gas twice now on the interstate at 4:00 in the morning going to work with semi trucks barreling down on her not knowing why she couldn't accelerate. *kb
Tried to turn on the air conditioning and discovered the fan did not work. after quite a bit of research and an expensive diagnosis, was informed the blower motor resistor was burned out. this appears to be a common, frequent, and expensive problem if done by the dealership. there are several potential hazards to families and children which include; the possibility of fire caused my the heated & melted wire, loss of air conditioning in the heat of the day which may cause heat stroke or worse, and loss of heat during the winter months making it impossible to drive safely without the windows icing over and inhibiting vision. a recall in order to repair the problems with the blower motor resistor is necessary. *tt
First - relay resistor module for manual heating/hvac. certain blower settings do not work in 2006 trailblazer. this same problem is a recall for 2004 chevy silverados. will this be a recall for the trailblazer as well? second - gas gauge have failed and does not work. i know of 3 others that have the same problem, is there a recall on this? *kb
Faulty fuel gauge / fuel sending unit / fuel reading / fuel pump. i have had to have my fuel pump replaced three times now due to faulty fuel sending units. this is a major problem because my truck now shows that i am always on empty and can be a huge hazard and life endangerment. i don't want to be going down a highway at 70 mph and have my truck stall. i have replaced this unit twice already and i am now with a faulty one again. all original manufacturer equipment. no after market replacements. it seems that new manufacturer units will work for about 10,000 - 30,000 miles and then fail. this is an issue that i have seen reported hundreds of times by gm owners of trailblazers and similar makes. my problem is with a 2006 chevy trailblazer v6 ls model with 126,000 miles. *tr
2006 chevrolet trailblazer fuel gage light stays on after filling up gas tank with a full tank of gas. call local gm dealership, they said the sending sensor in the gas tank has gone out. searched several sites on the internet, many, many other consumers with a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer are experiencing the same issue since 2006 and beyond. gm must recall and fix this issue for free now!!!!! *tr
In september 2010 i started having problems with my 2006 chevy trailblazer with the windshield wipers going all of the time . the only way i can get them to shut off or turn them back on is to take the fuse out. this is so inconvient because the fuse box is located in the backseat on the passengers side . i have to lift the seat up and remove two boxes and put in the fuse and to remove it i have to use pliers to get it out.... also my low fuel light stays on even when i have a full tank of gas so i am constantly at the gas station getting gas so that i am aways sure to have gas in my vehicle. the dealership wants to put the vehicle on diagnostic for $99 which does not go towards the cost of repairs which i can not afford because i am unemployed.. i have taken the vehicle back to the dealership i purchased it from and they indicate that it is no longer under warranty and there is nothing they can do but repair it and maybe give me 10% off of my repairs since i purchased it from them...... i see where u have many complaints on this same year and make and model.. do u have any suggestions on what can be done on this? *tr
Trailblazer ls 2006 fuel sending unit defective fill car with gas, but meter reads empty and warning light comes on even though gas tank is full. *tr
My 2006 trailblazer ls 4wd gas gauge has begun to malfunction after just 57k miles. when i filled up the gas on 7/23/2009, the gas gauge registered it to be empty and a warning light appeared. *tr
Acs/ service stabilitrak light comes on while driving and to get it to go off i have to stop and turn the vehicle off and back on again. also fuel gauge goes from full to empty even on a full tank of gas. when i turn my heat on it will only work on numbers 1-4. number 5 is completely out. also there's a squeak in my brakes that i cant get to go away. i replaced the rotors and brakes and had 2 new front wheel speed sensors put on because i was told that was what was causing the service stabilitrak light to come on. but that didn't fix my problem either. i have been told that because i bought my vehicle used and it had miles on it when purchased that nothing is covered under a warranty. *tr
We have had two 2006 trailblazers and both of them have been nothing but problems for us. the first one we brought we owned it for six months and we had it in the shop six times (broken sway bar, heater two times, windshield wiper fluid holder two times, shaky front wheel and motor misfiring. we traded in hopefully to avoid more problems and went ahead after assurance that this one must just be bad and got another 2006 trailblazer. this one we have only had for 2 months and we're already having problems. three days after we bought it had to go to the shop for the radio not working properly. then the engine starting misfiring and the engine light was on and it was running really rough. the tech thought that it was happening because the gas cap wasn't all the way tightened. (when the engine light comes on you loose power and i pulled out in front of a car on the highway and barley moved that's how i found that out.) when he called me back he said that i had two cracked sparks plugs and the battery cable was loose making it start slowly. that was fixed but then 5-27-07 the engine light came on again and it was running rough just like before. it seems like everytime that the engine gets wet that it makes it misfire. i told the dealership this several times now. it had been raining that day. everytime i take it in for the engine they tell me there is a lot of moisture under the hood on the motor. it's in the shop right now. *tr
I have had many many problems with my 2006 chevrolet trailblazer most recently the transmission is bad, i had started complaining to the dealer about the transmission slipping at around 8,000 miles, the truck now has 17,000 miles on it. the dealer refuses to repair it under my warranty. the dealer will not cover the repair. the dealer told me i had to pay out of pocket. i was informed of this on 5/4/2007. i have had many many repairs done on this vehicle, something is not right. the dealer also refuses to fix the brakes, the dealer claimed to have repaired them 3,000 miles ago and told me that it is not possible for the brakes to be bad again, the dealer said i need rotors, pads, and they did replace a lt ft caliper that they found to be bad. the dealer will not replace the pads and rotors. the dealer has told me to pick my vehicle up. the vehicle is currently not in safe condition to operate on public highway, i informed the dealer that i will leave the truck there while i contact nhtsa and whoever else i find that will help me. if the dealer insist that i remove my vehicle, i will have it towed, i will not operate the vehicle on public highways, as it is not safe. i will now list some of the items most recently replaced. also, abs , check engine, and service 4wd lite was on and off since january 2007. the gas gauge malfunctioned. the instrument panel was replaced twice, also replaced the radio, front heater, rear heater, dvd player, both upper ball joints, brakes, ft wheel bearing, lt ft door control, ft calipers, some kind of bearing in the steering wheel. the front suspension still makes noise, rattles (the dealer cannot find the problem) there is more but this is what i remember right now without looking it up. the dealer also told me that it is not possible for so many things to be wrong and has accused me of changing parts over from another trailblazer. *tr
I have had nothing but problems with my 06 trailblazer. the front windows rattle horribly, there is a film that is all over the windows all the time, the passenger door speaker has been replaced going on 4 times now, the power points have been replaced, also the stabilizer (which i do not think are fixed) and now they are replacing the stereo in it. they tell me the problem with the windows is "it's how they are made and they all rattle", power points..."don't use them"...speakers..."turn the music down"...stabilizers i have given up on. and now there is a smell like something is burning in the car. it does not happen all the time, so there is no way to point it out. this is the first for the stereo. i can not drive with the windows down..they even rattle when up! *tr
