Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Our vehicle died at a turn signal light in a dangerous intersection. no warning from the vehicle as it was running normal. it would turn over but no start. police force a tow out of the busy intersection right away. it starts up at the mechanics. they tested fuel filter and other stuff. we get on the highway in traffic and get 6 miles out and no warning we die and had to push the car to the shoulder on in dangerous conditions. sit for 2 hours and it fires up. so we found shade and waited for cool down. 2 hours away from home and it took us 9 hours to get home. we drove it to the store and when we were done shopping it fired up. went around the corner to other store and shopped 2 hours and came out and it would turn and no start. tried starting every 30 minutes to hour from 9:30pm to 1:40am and then it fired right up then drove 30 minutes to home. after researching and finding quite a few with same year make and model having the same issue we found that it is the pwr/trn relay plug in area in the fuse relay center. when we broke the plastic off the relay and wrapped a rubber band around it so it's constant contact and plug it in, it will fire up every time. i can drive it all day like that with no issues. i have to turn the key from running to accessory mode then remove the rubber band and then power off the car. don't want to fry com. the relays are good and problem is the fuse relay center. chevrolet said themselves that this model is notorious for fuse relay center problems and usually require replacement. it's a known defect. there are two pictures attached from one of the other people with same vehicle same problem and in order to make his fuse relay center work properly he had to wire/reroute his pwr/trn relay as seen in the picture. this needs to be investigated as this is a well known issue with chevrolet and the trailblazer.

When i accelerate from 45 to 60 miles per hour my whole truck vibrates and it feels like the engine is seizing but if i accelerate more or reduce my speed it goes away. i was researching online and found out i wasnt the only one in the country that has this problem. i was just thinking of everyone's safety including my own.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. when the contact shifted the gearshift in reverse, the vehicle failed to drive. in addition, when depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would only increase one gram rpm. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the forward gear was locked in with the loss of park and reverse and the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 163,672.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. while operating the vehicle, smoke emitted from the hood. the contact pulled over and discovered flames under the hood. the fire department extinguished the fire. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to a failed gm/ac delco transmission coolant line fitting, which caused transmission coolant to leak out onto the catalytic converter and exhaust system. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 120,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle shifted abruptly into second gear, and from second gear into third gear. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the first and second shift sensor in the transmission were replaced. the failure recurred, and the second and third shift sensor were replaced but the failure recurred. the vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the valve body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 132,000.

Transmission cooling lines are corroded thru.... *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to shift out of first gear. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where an independent mechanic stated that the shift control solenoid sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

While we were driving on i-94 near mile marker 12 in michigan, the rear axle broke, making the car inoperable. we were able to coast to the shoulder of the interstate. *tr

Driver side master power window switch does not work the driver side window at all! out of the blue this stopped working. further research shows that the 2006-2007 models were recalled not the 2005! really, this car is "currently registered in a cold weather state which uses salt to clear the roads" (direct quote from general motors and isuzu recall 258,000 suvs, the associated press, august 19, 2012) since 12/2005 which is when the vehicle was purchased. just because my vehicle did not have a fire "yet" but i have the "exact" problem which arose before these vehicles did catch fire, mine is not recalled? not only was the transmission recalled in 2008, i had a problem with the "blower motor" not working when you turn on the heat. you could only turn on the heat to no. 4. the truck was taken for service on 1/10/06, 1/30/06, 2/7/06 and 2/17/06 which was not even 2 mo. after purchasing said vehicle before the problem was corrected. in 11/06 the "fuel pump module" was replaced and covered "only" because i had the extended warranty and i had to pay the $100.00 deductible, because i had gas but it was not registering. again, i continue to have this problem. when calling gm on 7/24/13 about the window switch recall, i now find out that there is a "special coverage" for the "fuel level sensor". this is covered until 7/24/14, per gm (866-694-6546), unless you have more than 120,000 something miles. was not sure of the mileage exactly since mine is below that figure. the window switch is a serious malfunction that needs to be covered in "all years" of this vehicle. while sitting at a red light with your foot on the brake, the vehicle will just rev up and want to take off. i guess this isn't a "big deal" either. you can't even listen to the radio to distract you with all these problems going on because the radio only comes out of "one" speaker! go figure, it is gm! *tr

While putting the truck into 4x4 hi, lo, or all wheel drive, the transfer case never does fully put it into 4x4. while driving, the dim lights turn completely off. the brights work, but the dims do not. these will not turn back on until the truck is shut off or a proper bump is hit. the heater blower in the front sometimes will nit come on. the back will be blowing, not the front. also if a bump is hit improperly, the back speakers will start buzzing. *tr

Crashed straight into the back end of a vehicle doing 60 while i was doing atleast 80, or 85, maybe more, i don't remember. the first thing i remember seeing is realizing i'm alright despite the blood in the cockpit and on my face despite sneezing which was spreading blood. is this a vehicle defect or what? my math says that crashing at 85mph into a vehicle doing 60 is like crashing into a brick wall at 25mph. i've had a local mechanic check it out and he says according to his obd-ii computer everything is working fine (or was atleast) :) anyways, please feel free to contact me again with any more question you may have. Sir/ ma'am, i noticed recently in the news that several gm product lines have been plagued by faulty ignition switches causing the vehicle to lose power and/or cut out. i implore you to look into the trailblazers. i emailed gm while i was deployed (2012) and they gave me the runaround saying that it is not a documented problem, as expected. a simple internet search would show that a lot of other trailblazer owners have bad ignition switches/ electrical issues that cause the vehicle to lose power at all speeds. my wife lost power going about 35 mph and i had my two children along with her. this is just one example, on one occasion. granted, i do acknowledge this problem is intermittent, it still occurs at random and at all speeds. gm tells me to go to a dealer and have them look at it. i refuse to pay gm any money to have a dealership rip me off for an ignition switch that is flawed and replace it with the same faulty oem style/model number. i have ran a scan tool looking for codes and it doesn't have any. like stated previously, this is another line of gm that is plagued with ignition and electrical issues that gm refuses to take ownership of. the mileage i have entered is approximate. i cannot remember exact numbers, but it has happened for years, intermittently. when the vehicle has coasted to it's final destination after losing power, it starts up and drives normal again after it is put back into park. also keep in mind that it doesn't show any check engine lights, indicating a problem or need of servicing. again, please look into this product line as i know the result(s) will show that gm is liable and i don't want any fatalities because nobody spoke up about it. *tr

Door locks repeatedly locked and unlocked, then cascading failures, anti-lock light, engine light, other warning lights. engine started to run rough and would not make power, engine quit. note transmission gear indicator read incorrectly. disconnected battery, and reconnected, engine started got me home. three occurrences that the engine just quits. it will restart after a few minutes. mechanic could not find anything wrong. had another occurrence, mechanic found a code indicating the ecm may be bad. he tells me this should have noting to do with the door locks. the door locks latch and unlatch, uncommanded. engine stops when under power. mechanic has no course of action at this time. *tr

I am not sure what is wrong with this car! i have had it at the mechanic several times. he has replaced some sensors but the car still...putters..putters.. and putters......help!!! the car jerks, putters and sometimes dies while driving! *tr

At approximately 11:00 am just after parking the vehicle in an inclined home driveway and after turning the engine off for 2-3 minutes and with the automatic transmission in the park position, the vehicle on its own started to roll down the concrete driveway and into the residential street. no one was injured or run over, though the potential was great since my wife and i were both unloading the car from the rear side doors and the tailgate, but we were neither in the doorways or behind the vehicle. apparently the park transmission lock failed or became disengaged - a serious defect. the vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the street. i restarted the car and have driven it over 100 miles without incident since yesterday. i have used the park position without incident since that time, though i have not parked the vehicle on an inclined surface.

My 2005 trailblazer has begun to have several problems and in speaking to other chevy owners the same problems have been found in other models and years of chevy trucks and suvs. i'm very disappointed to see that chevy chooses not to recall, which is why i'll never purchase another chevrolet. beginning a few months ago my gauges began to be erratic. starting with my speedometer sticking at zero and then later sticking at 60mph even while sitting still. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. next while sitting at traffice lights or stops signs my engine began to surge forward without applying the gas. when the vehicle surges the rpm gauge also jumps up. i already replaced one transmission at 50k miles and now since passing 100k miles have begun to have rough shifting again in my vehicle. i do not drive my vehicle in a rough manner, speed, or haul a trailer, so there is no reason to be going through transmissions. now my fuel gauge has stopped working and i'm having to track my mileage with my odometer. i've never seen a vehicle with so many problems and no help offered from the maker. * tr

i have been hearing a clicking noise and my car had begun sounding like a jet engine taking off for the last 3 days - very noisy. i took it to pep boys where i was told that it is normal for the trailblazer to begin making this noise shortly after 60k miles. i was told the serpentine belt needed to be replaced, tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. i had the new parts installed. none of my warning lights came on the dashboard so i assumed was well as there was no other indication that something was wrong. driving my car within 24 hours of being fixed, the fan clutch seized and my water pump burst causing car to overheat in the middle of an intersection where my car then stalled putting me and my children at risk for injury. the car almost caught on fire it was smoking severely. someone helped me move my car out of the busy intersection and i called my husband and a tow truck to come get the car. when i got home and looked up the problems again on the dealer website, i found hundreds of forums where the fan clutch has been mentioned and the water pump too. a fan clutch according to the mechanics i surveyed stated they should last at least 100k or more. this has been brought to gm and they ignore it. it is a safety issue. additionally, my speedometer hasn't worked for at least a year and when i called chevy they wanted to charge me $700 to replace it when it is not my issues. i didn't cause it. not knowing what speed you are going is definitely a safety hazard and can cause accidents or tickets.i am attaching a forum (this is just one of hundreds i found online)http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/trailblazer/2004/consumer-discussions.html where people are having the same safety issues i am and gm has ignored them. my car could have caught on fire today and i had my 4 yr old daughter with me. not a position i ever want to be in. please issue a recall. *tr

Transmission cooler lines are corroded and leaking fluid all around the front passenger side wheel well. these lines will need replaced before the transmission fails. the frame is soaked with transmission fluid and this is a potential fire hazard if the fluid leaks onto the exhaust or catalytic converter. *tr

Acceleration sluggish at first. then the rpm's would increase without any acceleration. finally, would not shift out of 2nd gear and if went above 30 the rpm's would increase without anymore power to the wheels. found a transmission hose blown also. *tr

2005 chevy trailblazer. bought the vehicle used in 2008 with only 33,868 miles on it. have 78,158 on vehicle now and last month had to have the radiator replaced and transmission rebuilt. the place that did the repairs told me he gets about 3-5 trailblazers a year with the same problem. he had 2 folks call about the same issue while mine was on the rack. seems the radiator develops a small leak in the system that cools the trans and causes the transmission to fail. had no real issues until last month when vehicle would not come out of 3rd gear. could put auto transmission in to 1 or 2 and then be able to take off from dead stop and shift into drive to get the vehicle home and then to shop. have looked online to see if there was a recall on this issue and there has not, but appears there have been other complaints about this issue. total cost for vehicle repair was $2,814.17. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 35 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle, crashed into another vehicle and swerved off of the road. prior to the crash, the contact heard a loud banging noise near the rear end of the axle. the front drive axle and the drive train connected to the rear axle were destroyed. the vehicle was towed to his residence and it was not repaired. the manufacturer stated that they were unable to offer him any assistance with the failure. a police report was not filed. the failure mileage was 115,000. updated 06/17/11*lj

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the power steering assist failed. the contact mentioned that the failure recurred several times. the contact also stated that the lift gate revel molding was fractured. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering, power transmission and the rear deck molding needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 166,324. the vin was not available. *tr

05 chevy trailblazer speedometer cluster is defective...rpm continues to malfunction along with speedometer breakage. *tr

While on the highway to florida from ohio i felt a budge and then heard the vehicle sound like it was down shifting and the rpms were high. i pulled off the side of the highway and headed back home doing 40 mph since the vehicle would not shift past 2nd gear. also the vehicle shifted gears harshly. took the vehicle to the dealership and they had informed me that i needed a new transmission. i have read hundreds of other complaints on the this same subject. i am assuming that most people don't know where to report such incidents. *tr

I have a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer with 75,000 miles on it. with no warning, my transmission went out. the car is well cared for and regularly serviced. our local dealership explained that i had no power train warranty, and that they do not repair the transmission. the cost to me for a new transmission would be $2720.31. *tr updated 10/27/10. *lj

We were driving on i-85 in virginia with cruise control on when the engine started racing. we limped into a service station at the next exit to have the trailblazer looked at. we only had 1st and 2nd gear remaining on our transmission and had to have the suv towed to the next major city and spend the night until the dealership opened on monday. the end result is that the transmission failed at less than 64,000 miles. i was told by the dealership that the transmission housing essentially disintegrated and there were a lot of metal fragments inside the housing which were a major factor in the transmission failing. this level of catastrophic failure of a major drive train component should not occur at so low a mileage. we, as the consumer, were forced to pay $3200.00 for a new transmission. plus the costs of hotel rental and a rental vehicle to return home and missing work to address this issue. *tr

Went to dealer for vehicle inspection and oil change on my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. was told that the sensors are indicating that there is moisture getting into my transmission due to a issue with the dip stick not sealing properly. was told it would cost $192.00 (parts and labor) to repair. that it is not covered under warranty. however, i was told that if my transmission did go out due to this problem, and my vehicle was still under the warranty, that the warranty would cover a new transmission. doesn't make sense that if there is a defect in such a minor part as the dip stick seal, why the warranty wouldn't cover the repair. *tr

Automatic transmission dipstick rusted off at the top. rusting inside a transmission is a concern for the overall life of the transmission. *tr

My 2005 trailblazer instrument panel constantly fails - the speedometer stops working which is a safety issue. the gas gauge has been fixed once already and is now broken again. the vehicle has power surges which is another safety issue. the transmission shifts the car up and down when trying to slow down causing power surges. this is another safety issue. the following are other issues which this model vehicle: stereo cd player stopped working, the check engine light comes on when the gas cap light, the lights flicker also. i ought this vehicle used and with a cracked front bumper which the dealer didn't fix (dealer stuck a little bondo on area and repainted it so i thought it was a new bumper when i accepted the car after repair. it cracked in a matter of days) and i know this was caused due to the surges in power. a severe safety issue. the vehicle has serious electrical problems the chevrolet should stand behind and fix. it is not fair to the consumer. i have checked the web and have read many, many other similar complaints. chevy owners should fill a class action lawsuit against chevrolet if they don't do a recall and fix these problems. i experience a fender bender accident when my vehicle didn't stop and bumped another cars back bumper causing an accident and an insurance claim. i am fed up with this vehicle but can't afford to replace it. *tr linda vanauken

The transmission was faulty after only 94,000 miles. the transmission had no prior problems or repairs. *tr

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer that is experiencing very sluggish acceleration, transmission is not shifting smoothly, and runs very loudly. i have researched this problem and found hundreds of complaints with other owners of this same year, make and model. *tr

Is no longer working broken. *tr

Normal driving, i noticed some liquid spots on the driveway. after inspecting, i found that the transmission oil cooling line is corroded through, leaking transmission fluid. my chevrolet trailblazer has less than 60000 miles and is 5 years old. one line is clean, the other is corroded beyond repair. transmission oil cooling lines have to be replaced. *tr

While driving on the highway, my truck rpm's began to rev, and i began to lose speed. my trailblazer would not shift out of second gear now. i discovered a leak into the transmission cooling line and replaced it. i've also changed the fluid and filter. after taking my truck to a local autozone for a code scan, which brought back no codes, i took the truck to my local dealer for a diagnosis. they charged me $105.00 to tell me that the truck wasn't "throwing codes" i already knew that! they told me that it was going to be approx. $800.00 just to pull the transmission apart to find the problem and $400.00 to put it back in. that doesn't include the cost of fixing it! after consulting with an ase certified mechanic, i changed the tcc (transmission clutch converter) solenoid to no avail. the problem still exists! gm will offer no assistance until i pay the dealer to disassemble the transmission, then "there is a possibility" that the fix will be covered. this vehicle has not done any towing and only has 56,600 miles on it! there is no reason for a transmission failure! *tr

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer with 46,000 miles and the transmission, idler pulley, and water pump already had to be replaced. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 50 mph, the contact heard a loud noise outside the vehicle. the transmission began to slip and there were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on two separate occasions for inspection. the technician stated that the alternator failed. the warranty expired on the vehicle and the manufacturer is in the process of being notified. the vehicle is able to be driven and has not been repaired. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 72,000 and current mileage was 76,000.

After doing some research i am encountering a problem that seems to be out there a lot. i have a 2005 trailblazer and my forward gear stopped working at 80k miles. i think is a much too new car to encounter a transmission failure. there is obviously a problem when i have read pages and pages of this same issue. gm has to step in and tell me something my dealer estimate this to cost me a min. $3,200.00 in this economy or any that is a large expense to encounter with no warning or previous problems. i hope the gm will have some answers and do the right thing! this happened to me on the van wyke expressway in rush hour many of us could have been hurt or killed! thank you *tr

I am the owner of a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer with 32,000 miles. i purchased the truck new from the dealer. over the few years that i have owned the vehicle, i have been faced with a multitude of issues. my first problem became the ac lines. they began to leak due to rust, which was not covered under the 7 year, 70,000 mile warranty. next the exhaust manifold began to leak. the cost was covered under the warranty; however, the dealer managed to break the bolts that hold the manifold to the engine. the breakage was not covered, and therefore, i had to pay. following these two issues, i noticed rust all over the undercarriage. in the past three years, after my warranty expired, i had to fix the following items due to the rust: the power steering coil, rear end, transmission, fuel pump, power steering lines, power steering pump, rack and pinion, front wheel bearings, and a fuel gage recall from gm. in addition, i avoid using low 4-wheel drive, because the vehicle gets stuck in that gearing. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. two weeks after the vehicle was purchased, the 4-wheel drive failed. when turning left, right, and when driving in reverse, the wheels lock when the 4-wheel drive is activated. the failure also occurred once while in drive, but all the other failures occurred only in 4-wheel drive. the dealer stated that the 4-wheel drive was operating normally. the manufacturer sent a technician to his local dealer to attempt to remedy the failure, but was unable to assist. the technician stated that the failure was located in the 4-wheel drive transfer case. the failure mileage was 35,678 and current mileage was 36,210. updated 04/22/08. *lj

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer and i have encountered numerous problems since purchasing this vehicle brand new from the dealer. i have had to have sensors replaced, fuel tank has had to be worked on, and now the main most costly is i am having to replace the transmission. this vehicle has approx. 84,000k miles on it and is only two years old. please help to see if this should have been a factory recall. i have always had my vehicle serviced at the dealer where i purchased it at. *tr

Transmission started acting up about 2 weeks ago at right around 47,000 miles. it's gotten to where i cannot go more than 45 miles an hour or so and it takes me 5 minutes to accelerate to that point. i am taking it to the dealership, even though my warranty is expired by 11,000 miles, and one month! *tr

Had to have transmission replaced (a whole other sick story:( ). when i got my truck back, second day on the freeway, the speedometer started to climb even though i was staying with the flow of traffic. i twent around to the 100s. when i got home it spun straight down not stopping at the zero like it normally did. took it back to mechanic at least twice maybe 3 times, he did something that fixed it for a few days, but then it would mess up again. as it is right now, it is parked but saying it's at 100+ mph. reading other peoples same problem, it will cost too much for me to pay the dealer to fix. i have even gotten a speeding ticket because of this (my first in 20 years!)!!! *tr

I purchased a 2005 chevy trailblazer on 4/15/05 shortly there after i was having problems with a whining sound. i took it to a dealer and i was told that it was the ignition pulley. i contacted the corporate office of chevrolet to inquire about assistance with payment considering i was about 3, 000 miles over the warranty. after several calls chevrolet absorbed this cost. then in sept. of 2005, my husband totaled his car and i purchased a 2005 trailblazer for him. again this car began making similar noises and my husband was driving home with our 2 year old son and the car began smoking. my husband immediately pulled off the road and contact roadservice. once we took it to a mechanic he said that it was the ignition pulley which caused the transmission to die. we took it to a chevrolet dealership and they said that was the transmission. i contacted the corporate office once again and this time they would not offer any financial assistance. it seems that the dealership said that it was the result of an oil change that did not occur at the 3000. they, the dealership based this off of a sticker that was in the window of the car. when i went to look at the car they was no oil sticker in the window. despite that, i had contacted the chevy office about the same whining noise that i heard in my car (the ignition pulley) that my husband was experiencing in his car. this is still not resolved. we were told to fix this car it would cost $10,000.00, yes, for a new transmission. we have since towed to home in order to avoid storage fees. here sits a 2005 chevy trailblazer with approx. 50,000.00 and a new transmission is needed. we do not have the money to fix this and also pay the car note on it as well. as a read reports, this is a similar problem with many many trailblazers. there needs to be a recall on this vehicle for faulty transmissions!!!!! *tr

While driving i automatic transmission failed to work in the drive position. it was taken to dealer for repairs, where it was found that a complete failure of transmission occurred. the vehicle was safely stopped on the side of the road. their were no injuries, but under different circumstances this occurrence may have resulted in severe injury or death. the vehicle had only 51,653 miles at the time of the incident. the transmission was overhauled and the vehicle was returned 5 days later. the required first service of the transmission was not scheduled until 100,000 miles.*ak

Tl* - on november 11, 2006 the contact was driving at 5-10 mph on wet road conditions when the contact lost control of the vehicle. there were no warning indicator lights displayed on the 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. the vehicle started spinning, the contact's vehicle hit a cement median, and the vehicle spun around again. the left front tired looked shredded. there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed away. the drive shaft was replaced. the contact stated that once the vehicle was repaired the tire was rubbing on the frame. the contact took the vehicle to another repair shop and was told that the drive shaft had been installed incorrectly, causing the tire to rub on the frame. the first dealer did not tell the contact they replaced the drive shaft. the vehicle's drive shaft has been ordered and the contact is still driving the vehicle. the vehicle had approximately 28,000 miles at the time of the failure. the contact has the repair invoices. *nm

All of a sudden the transmission started to shift funny after a long road trip. it did this once on the highway. we got off the highway and pulled into our town and the car was having problems shifting. we barely made it to our house and the transmission was leaking. we went to drive it to the dealership and it over heated less than a mile from the house. we were told that the radiator deteriorated and sent anti-freeze into the transmission which destroyed the transmission. *jb

I parked a 2005 chevy trailblazer rented from budget rent a car in the hotel parking lot where myself and my fiance were checking in to. i removed the key from the ignition and went inside. approximately 30 sec later the car rolled down the hill in a large arc (due to the steering wheel being locked) and collided with another vehicle. the car was in neutral. at that point i put the key back into the ignition and found that the key could be removed while in neutral, which caused the car to roll. the police arrived and also were able to remove the key while it was in neutral. this is included in the police report. i was not cited since the police officer found the car to be defective. budget rent a car replaced the vehicle without question, however are now seeking me to pay for the damage, which is obviously being contested. *jb

I bought this suv to go off road, mostly riding in the sand on the beach. the first time on the sand it did not want to go and i thought my husband or i did something wrong. however the second time it went a short distance and then sank up to the axles and we had to have it towed off the beach. it was taken to the dealership and they could find nothing wrong with it, and acted like this was the first complaint on this problem, however my accountant has the same suv same year model and same problem, took it to the same dealership and was also told there was nothing wrong with his trailblazer. *jb

Headlights flickering completely off and on in the dark and daylight hours as well as completely quitting. had it to dealership 2 times for this matter and they could not find the cause of the problem. i felt it was a hazard driving it this way being. it also happened at night. this started in november/december 2005. haven't had it a year yet and already the driveshaft has been replaced . is this a lemon ?*ak

The transmission shifted hard from first to second gear. *nm the transmission shifted so hard that it almost jerked the steering wheel out of the consumers hands. the second concern was when the consumer had to place the rear seat down to place items in the back , it required that the front seat be moved forward and would not go all the way back again. the last concern was that the vehicle could not use tire chains due to the fact that there wasn't enough clearance and the consumer was informed to use another traction device. *sc
