The driver's side window relay switch is bad. i have had several quotes from dealerships and looks like the cost is around $400.00. (for them to replace and reprogram). there is a huge safety issue if you cannot roll down your window on the driver's side and roll down and lock or unlock any of the doors or windows from the driver's side as well. i have read many complaints on various websites from consumers with the same problem. with the majority of these switches going bad, they need to recall this, as it is very costly andnot at all safe. especially if an officer needs to approach you and you have to open your door first. that could lead to an unsafe incident toward yourself as well as any law enforcement agent. if you can please address this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. i have researched any recall on this and have not had any luck. thank you for your time in addressing this issue. *tr

I bought this car about 4 years ago and it has been nothing but an elecitrical mess. first my head lights would go out once a month, then a couple times a month, then once a week. my brake lights started doing the same. our famliy mechhanic couldn't figure it out, he just kept replacing them and sending the bad bulbs in for warranty. a couple times the pigtails and lamps had to be replaces. also 3 seperate occasions both headlights went out at once while driving. and i had to drive home in the dark with no head lights on. i took it the chevy dealership after the third time abd apparently my fuse box was melted and needed to be replaced. spent over 1000.00 doing that and it worked okay for about a year. then headlights started going out again and brake tlights as well. not once a week, but still about once a month or every other month. recently my drivers window stopped working and i couldn't control the master switch to lock my car or roll up my windows. the cluster panel in the door needed to be replaced. also, had two sensors that needed to be replaced because my 4 wheel drive, parking brake, and crusie control would stop working all at once and the lights would be lit up on the dashboard. i wasnt' able to use any of them until the sensor was replaced. also the power shorted out in my side mirros, so i can't adjust the mirrors with the control or they start tiliting back and forth like crazy on their own. i have to get out of the car and adjust them manually. gm needs to do a recall, this car is not safe and i will not be buying a gm car while i look for a new car soon. *js

The front air vents in my 2004 trailblazer quit working after i installed a new battery. my front air vents will no longer work. after researching this on the internet it appears that this is a common problem with the chevy trailblazer. it will require the purchase and installation of a new control module to regulate the air flow so the vents will work. this is a component/design problem that gm needs to fix not the consumer. *tr

The front passenger window will not go up or down. many electrical issues with this car! *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 chevrolet trailblazer. ten minutes after the contact activated the rear defroster, the rear glass exploded. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. the failure mileage was 77,000.

Rear window shattered while sitting in my 2004 trailblazer. no rocks were thrown at the truck. based on internet research it seems to be a recurring problem with gm suv's. i called the dealer today (12/17/07) and the service manager denied having any knowledge of this problem. gm/dealer denying any knowledge of the issue seems to be recurring as well. *tr

I have owned this vehicle for 2 1/2 years. the first problem was noticeable only at night when the windshield glare was so bad on the freeway that i could not see very well. we had the windshield replaced. the second problem has been on-going for the past six to eight months. the speedometer sometimes works, but is usually not very correct, and most of the time it just picks a number and sits there for several days, whether the car is running or not. i usually use the rpms to figure out how fast i am going until my mechanic can fix it for more than a week at a time. *tr

Back hatch and window will only open occasionally if i'm lucky. tail lights went out once and i was able to get the hatch open to fix it. they are out again and i can't get the hatch to open now. i have been replacing head lamps about every 8 to 10 months. head lights are now going off for no apparent reason while i'm driving at night. i can flip on the brights and then wait a few minutes and flip back to low beams, sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't. the dome lights will not come on and stay on after i turn it off. half of the dash lights for the radio are out, sometimes they will come on if i tap them. the feature that lets you turn the vehicle off and the radio will continue to play and the windows will still roll down as long as you don't open the door, is not working. both o2 sensors are out and have been for a long time. i purchased this suv brand new from a chevy dealer. i have paid it off and kept up all of the general maintenance on it. when i took it in to get these issues fixed i was told it would be over $2500.00 to fix and that did not include labor. this suv is a lemon, if i was in a position to trade it in or buy a new one i would, and i would not be getting another chevy. i have never been notified of any recalls. i only found out about the electrical recalls on the turn signals and tail lights because a friend had heard about them and suggested a website to check. i'm calling the dealer today to see if i can get these issues taken care of. another reason i will not be buying chevy again. *tr

Windshield wiper motor will not shut off in 2004 chevrolet trailblazer ext. 2003 model year had same problem and was recalled by manufacturer. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated the headlights dim without warning. the problem occurs intermittently and has increased over time. upon inspection the dealership determined the problem is related to the defroster in the ac compressor. the dimming of the headlights is normal for the vehicle. updated 02/24/06

Dt: the windshield cracked on the inside about 4 inches long. it started in the middle of the windshield. there was another one that was parallel to it and that was about an inch long. noticed this on july 1, 2005. contacted the dealer on july 26, 2005 .they told consumer bring in it on the 9th. they said it looked like vehicle hit a rock, and they do not cover it windshields. *ak the consumer stated after talking to a manger, he stated it was not due to a rock hitting the windshield. *jb

I have a 2004 chevy trail blazer. the locking mechanism for the window failed, allowing my dog to put her foot on the control and roll the window up on her head. as soon as she was trapped i tried to free her, but the window had gotten off the track and would not lower. i stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road and tried to force the window down but that would not work either. fortunately there was a police officer behind me when this happened and he shattered the window with his baton. if the police officer had not been right there, my dog would have strangled to death. there needs to be some sort of sensor to prevent the windows from rolling up if there is an object in the space. i know children as well as pets have been killed by this and it needs to be corrected. another possibility is to position the control vertically on the door to make it less easy to accidentally trip.*ak

While driving, in inclement weather the windshield wipers would come on and go off on their own. the consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer. the mechanic informed the driver that the windshield wiper motor needed replacement. please fill in additional information. *jb

Blower will go on by itself when manually turned on, the blower will go off for a few seconds and back on. the back windshield wiper will go by itself, the clock will turn to 12:00 when turned off, headlights flicker while driving, when using anything electrical in the car such as the electric windows, the head lights dim.*ak

The car drives fine but a few weeks after purchase, the passenger mirror started moving. i have a car where when you open the car with your designated key, the mirrors set to your preferences. i kept resetting the mirror and a few days later they would not hold the set again. now every time i shut off the car and get back in the mirrors have to be reset. there have been times when i forget to reset the mirror and start driving. i am so afraid i am going to hit someone while attempting to change lanes. i have to try to reset the mirror while driving and this takes my attention away from the road. i have had the car in the shop three times in kentucky. at first they kept telling me they couldn't find the problem because it didn't act up for them because it would hold for the time they had the car. finally they did another test and it showed i had a faulty part in the door that is attached to the mirror. they replaced that and it held for about a week and a half and then started again. i was in the process of moving to south carolina so i took it to a dealership there. they couldn't find anything wrong and charged me for the visit even though this has been an ongoing problem. i called gm and talked by e-mail to their customer service and have received no help at all. they said they would call back (they called once) but i haven't heard from them. *jb

The check engine light and the reduced engine power light came on the first time and the truck had no acceleration. there was a code recorded when service was performed and pcm was reprogrammed. the next 3 times the check engine light came on and the truck would only accelerate if the rpm's reved up to 2, then the truck would move very slowly. the problem they found this time was a faulty ingition switch (2 times) a program upgrade of the motherboard of the truck, and the tork converter clutch module. windshield wiper blades stopped working during a snow/rain storm.*ak
