Takata recall yes i was smelling fuel coming from the inside of the cab of my vehicle every morning well starting it up and it would remain so i looked into it and it was on a recall but they told me that the recall had expired and there's nothing they could do about it i don't think something as serious as this should have a limit on it because of the gas fumes constantly entering the vehicle i'd sometimes get dizzy and lightheaded causing me to pull over to leave the vehicle so i can get fresh air not mentioning always afraid of something sparking and possibly catching the truck on fire i have taken the truck to the dealer and they tell me like i said the recall has expired i am reaching out to you to help me get this corrected hope to hear from you very soon thank you for taking this time to read my complaint my name tracy o'brien live in palmdale california i cannot provide pictures because i do not know where it is coming from

The top of my fuel pump at the return line and intake line rusted out causing gas to spill out on top of fuel tank and smell very strong gas oders.
Error code indicates a problem with the evap system. won't pass state emission test. cant diagnose further because of a gas leak at the gas tank filler hose connection to the gas tank. notified by mechanic that they replaced tanks up to 150,000 miles but my truck is 185,000.
Trailblazer fuel system
Cannot put gas in tank because of back pressure
Fuel tank has tiny crack at the where the tank is welded together and gasonilne and or gasoline vapors leak out causing the check engine light to come on. gm has issued special coverage warranty for vehicles that have up to150,000 miles or 15yrs old whichever comes first. vehicle has 160,000 miles on it and they will not pay for repairs that should actually be a recall since it is a safety issue that is affecting millions of vehicles
Code 440, smell of gas on different occasions from the gas tank area. replaced gas cap & purge valve. smell continues. not sure what is factor for the smell, yet it has gotten stronger. a few times i have smelled the gas while driving,, tho, most times it is upon exiting the vehicle it is most notable.
Fuel leakage from fuel tank. very noticeable after fueling up, and when it's warm outside. fuel smell and visible fluid dripping from the fuel tank. vehicle isn't safe to drive, and gm is unwilling to cover the cost for the poor quality of the design of the fuel tanks. it's a known problem that gm and it's dealerships try to pass the bill for repair onto the consumer.
Gas tank is leaking .i get a letter from general motor about that problem i took the truck to crystal chevrolet the manager told he would not work on my truck.
While driving my vehicle in december 2015 i received a "service engine soon" display. i took the suv to a service center who informed me my fuel tank was cracked & needed to be replaced. they ordered a new tank but have not been able to obtain the part. while researching the situation, i found record of an nhtsa investigation (action # pe07014) conducted in 2007 for the same problem, involving the same make, model & year as my vehicle in which gm was supposed to send letters to owners & repair the fuel tanks free of charge. i never received the notification and reached out to gm customer service to find out why, file a report and expressing my grave concerns regarding the safety issues of driving a vehicle in this condition. over the course of approximately two weeks of communication, i was advised my vin wasn't included in the action therefore they wouldn't have notified me, it was past the mileage warranty & they won't extend it, the part is on backorder and the soonest it might be available is may, they won't provide a temporary repair or loaner vehicle, there's nothing further they can do and they're closing the file on my complaint. they were however, willing to offer a potential discount on a new vehicle. i advised them i was not in a position to purchase a vehicle and that wasn't an appropriate solution to the problem.

Extended warranty fuel tank filler leak known issue with chevrolet which affects other parts such fuel pump, fuel module, etc chevrolet has been aware of this issue since 2007 and i just got a call from a senior advisor from chevy stating that the "replacement part" is not going to be in until april.i find this unacceptable since i am driving around with a gas leak. the sa first started off, well we understand you are complaining about the part being back ordered. no i am mad because if they sent out letters to consumers, don't you think you should have the part in to fix the issues with the trailblazer? chevy is dragging its feet to fix its own warranty that it extended to consumers. the longer i drive around with this leak, the longer others parts such the fuel pump, fuel module, etc will fail and chevy should cover these parts also. how does chevy expect me to drive around for 5 months with a fuel leak?
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that there was a constant strong odor of fuel in the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a dealer and the fuel tank was replaced. the failure recurred and the steering wheel vibrated. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure was not remedied. the failure mileage was 51,476.
Fuel tank inlet check valve fracture - chevy trailblazer (2003) i received the attached notice for special coverage in november 2015 for my trailblazer's fuel tank inlet check valve that fractures and allows for fuel to seep out of the tank. sounds pretty dangerous to me. i took my vehicle to the local chevy dealership and sure enough, my vehicle was affected and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the replacement fuel tank part was ordered by the dealership in november 2015 and the replacement part has still not come in, 6 months later. i've called the dealership, as well as gm/chevy corporate at least 20 times over the past 6 months and the update i received today from the dealership was the part 'may come in september 2016 or it may not'. i can't drive the vehicle during this time due to this dangerous gas leak repair. this is wildly unfair. i was patient, but this is ridiculous - a replacement part should not take a year to receive. i'm guessing the part will not arrive in september either, as i was told in january 2016 that the part would arrive in february 2016 and obviously that didn't happen (today is april 15, 2016). finally, the service i received from gm/chevy corporate was appalling. donna seymour - a senior advisor at gm/chevy (1-866-790-5600 ext. 5911534) provided the worst service i've ever had, anywhere. she repeated would say she would call me back and fail to do so, and do absolutely nothing to try to resolve the situation. she was awful and gm/chevy should be ashamed that they treat their customers in this manner.
On august 26, 2015 we purchased a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer from wali's auto sales in enola, pa. it had 93,907 miles on it and appeared to be in good condition with a clean car fax. we traded in our 1996 chevrolet suburban and received $1700 in trade in value purchasing the trailblazer for $5722.70 including tax and transfer fees. brakes and ball joints had been replaced prior to our purchase along with a transmission line. we took the vehicle for an alignment as soon as we purchased it. we drove the vehicle approximately 200 miles and then on september 17th left home with intentions of driving the vehicle to stowe vermont. at 11:30 am on the morning of september 17th (approximately 2 hours into our trip) the vehicle lost power and brakes close to scranton, pa. the engine caught fire and within 7 minutes the vehicle burned up. the vin number was not readable. the scranton fire department responded along with pennsylvania state police and the forty fort police. we have a copy of the fire report. the vehicle was towed by a local tow company. my wife and i escaped injury. we had liability insurance through state farm which covered towing and fire company expenses. wali's gave us a 30 day warranty on the vehicle and has acknowledged since the incident that there is a warranty on the vehicle but is not forthcoming in allowing us to submit a claim to their insurance company.

I have filed a prior complaint and the number is #10695487. i contacted general motors and have never been treated so terrible in my life. the person on the phone told me to either take it to a dealer ( with no help from gm to check it) or get over it and hung up. i am still having the fuel leaking and with no help from gm i will not be able to fix it. i would like to have it fixed because in my mind it is a defect on gm part and they do not want to own up to it. please help with this issue. *tr
I have a 2003 chevy trailblazer and it started to have the smell of gas and a dip from the fuel tank. i was wondering if this was a fix that would be covered by general motors. i have only owned this vehicle a year and live on a very limited income. i love this vehicle and do not want to have to part with it but i need a vehicle to go to doctors and hospitals for medical issues. please help in getting this fixed. *tr
The area around the fuel tank filler neck, where it connects to the fuel tank, is leaking. this is a common issue with 2002 - 2003 chevrolet trailblazer ext's and gmc envoy xl's. it is covered under general motors special coverage program #14423 for 15 years or 150,000 miles. my trailblazer now has 180,000 miles on it and i have been smelling gasoline fumes in the area of the filler neck for a long time, but i didn't know where it was coming from. i just found out about this program and checked the filler neck area and found the leak. because the vehicle's mileage is outside the mileage limit of the program, gm will not cover the replacement of the fuel tank and filler assembly. i am stuck with a vehicle that may be hazardous to drive, but i have no choice.
I parked my vehicle on 1/15/2015 and smelled gas. i looked everywhere but have not found a leak. i am still smelling gas as of 1/20/2015. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. whenever fuel was placed in the vehicle, a very strong fuel odor was present outside the vehicle and the check engine light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the storage tank assembly failed and was leaking. the entire fuel tank needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Gas has been spilling off the gas tank metal flange where the intake hose attaches too. chevrolet dealer does not recognize this as a recall . apparently a fatality needs to be directly link to this problem before this issue is address. *tr
put vehicle in park and stayed in drive. shut vehicle off and put on park however still in drive and now will not start. since i work on vehicles i looked at transmission linkage and found cable came off transmission linkage. plastic clip broken. looked on line and found transmission shifter cable repair clip for $14.99. since it was special order i went to dealer and was told there is no repair kit and that they have plenty of shifter cables in stock $75.00 went ahead and ordered aftermarket part special order 2 days and today 3 days later was told out of stock and none available til december. coincidence or is this a common problem? i'm afraid someone will not know or realize vehicle still in drive when shifter moves to park and not moving shifter linkage at transmission. *tr

I bought a used 2003 chevy trailblazer 6cylinder 4w with those156000. well shortly after buying it i had my windows rolled down in a drive thru and smelt gas. i didn't think much of it until a few weeks later i noticed that i had a leak of some sort and it had the gas smell but within another week my gas mileage per tank of fuel went down drastically and i noticed i had puddles under my vehicle instead of a few drips now. the smell of gas is overwhlming it gives me headaches when i drive. i'm afraid it's going to start a fire. it constantly drips gas now when i ddrive you can seexa trail leading to me. i wish i nevercwould have bought it. it's so unsafe for my children with glad leaking out.

About a week ago, there was a strong odor of gas inside the car. it appears also that i have been losing fuel as my tank went down much quicker than normal. i did look at the gas tank today and i see what appears to be a wet spot where fuel has leaked but do not see a hole. i have 2 young children and feel this is a hazard and defect of the vehicle. i do see that there was a bulletin on the ext model of the trailblazer and feel this is the same issue. *tr
The engine just dies while driving. there was an accident. *tr

Like so many others, my 2003 trailblazer began to reek of gasoline, permeating our garage & house with the smell. the dealership offered to replace the fuel pipes between the tank & the fill cap; however, they said i have to pay for the fuel filter myself. note that prior to warranty work, there was no leaking, puddling of fuel, or any indication that it was leaking. there were just fumes. it has only 95k miles on it, so it's within the 120k/10 yr warranty for this problem. unfortunately, when warranty work began, they "discovered" a leak when they removed the belt that holds the tank to the body of the vehicle. they are claiming that i "must have" gotten a rock or some debris underneath the belt to have caused the leak. funny, it didn't leak until they touched it. now the area rep is demanding "customer participation" in replacement of the fuel tank (which they admit is a safety hazard). oh, & when they showed me the leak, i specifically asked if it was covered under the warranty and the service rep said "of course, you don't need to worry". but as soon as the gm area rep bailed on paying the escalated warranty work, the dealership recanted their promise to me. when i protested, the service manager suggested gm might not pay anything if i proceed with a warranty claim, costing me $1100+ for the fuel tank and $100+ for the fuel filter. i know the area rep has a fund to pay for it, but chooses not to. all service work including oil changes have been performed at the dealership on time, from day 1. the warranty service offered to me is less than others with the same problem have received (gm paid full repairs for others, incl. fuel filter & fuel tank). i can prove that the vehicle was not leaking gasoline prior to the time warranty work began. history shows leaking gas tanks have a nasty tendency to blow up. is that what it will take to make this right? *tr
Gas smell been to the shop numerous times with no results. *tr
I noticed that there was a gas odor coming from the bottom of my suv, and when i checked i found that there was a gas leak in the gas line that goes from the gas filter to the engine, and i also found out that two of those lines were stuck to each other. the one that had the leak was touching the chassis, so that when it vibrated it collided constantly with it. that's what caused the leak. *tr
Leaking from the fuel pump flanges, caused fuel lines to corrode and leak onto gas tank. gas smell coming from rear of vehicle. this was a great fire hazard as a driver of this vehicle and safety of others! pe 07013 cost to repair $763.76. *tr
The vehicle had a very strong smell of gasoline inside the suv and also outside and when i stopped on road fuel was pouring out of it and i got so frightened that it would catch fire. my fuel tank guage went from a full tank to less than a half tank of gas in a matter of minutes and the suv was sluggish and felt weird. i took the suv immediately to my car repair place and they dismantled the gas tank and found the fuel module to have a hole in it and is corroded. i looked online and there is a nhtsa action number of pe07013 on it and i found hundreds of complaints about this online and i am very upset as this repair is going to cost me close to a thousand dollars and i am a disabled american veteran and this amount of money is very hard for me to come up with. also the suv was very unsafe and if i continued to drive it i am sure it would have went up in flames. my suv is at levines auto repair garage in new windsor ny 12553 and their number is 845-219-5508 . i want to know what my rights are as to this matter. thank you. Service engine light illuminated due to leak in evac system according to diagnostic test. dealership confirmed leak to be at weld where fill spout tube is attached to fuel tank. strong gasoline fumes were present coming from the vehicle. i was informed that the fuel tank would have to be replaced at cost of $1300.00. internet research revealed that gm had a tsb addressing this problem (campaign #05012), but it only applied to ext models. since this is, in reality, a fire safety issue, i believe gm should also include all models with the same problem regardless of age or mileage. *tr
