I bought a 2002 chev.trailblazer ltz from joe cecconis dealership. my alternator was bad they told me when i bought it and so they replaced it in 2008. wed. nov. 18th 2010 it caught on fire while i was in it. the local fire dept. made a report and joe cecconis wont return my calls. what do i do? *tr

Front end problems , 4 wheel low comes on at anytime . problem after problems with this 2002 chevy trail blazer .. *tr

On 11/14/07 i purchased a "02 trailblazer from salisbury chevrolet, in scotia, ny. on december 21, 2007 i had the transfer switch replaced because the 4wd would randomly switch from 2wd to 4lo or awd. i never had to use the 4wd last winter, snow falls weren't that bad. went to switch it on this year on 12/19 and come to find out that my 4wd was not functioning. took it the dealer and it will cost me $600 to repair. the "service 4wd" light never came on. *tr

When i touch the buttons on my radio they get very very hot. their is a long list of things wrong with this 2002 chevy trail blazer. but when i contacted chevy they told my that my suv is not one of the ones affected? their is a noise in the front and the right side of the truck seems lower, like a shock is broken? the rear windshield wiper never worked. the air conditioning only work on the highest level ( 5 ). the rear tailgate never locks when you hit the power locks. the tape player starts on its own, and will blow a fuse causing an electrical smell. the day i bought the 2002 chevy trail blazer the head gasket blew and the dealership replaced it with a used head gasket. this suv has alot of issues and is getting unsafe to drive. i have tried to have chevrolet address these issues but they wont fix anything without me paying for them. i am on a tight budget, and i have seen alot of recalls with these issues that i have described. shouldn't they fix these things free of charge? please help! *tr

I bought the 2002 trailblazer on february 2008 drove it for about a month and a half total the rest of the time it has been back to the dealership for repairs. everything including the motor needed to be replaced, the transmission needs to be replaced just accelerated onto the gas heard a loud crack and the truck shook like an earthquake had hit, lost acceleration would not go any faster than 30-35 miles an hour and car would not disengage from neutral at first and the would not go into reverse., brakes have made a pulsation feeling and they were done days before i bought the vehicle and replaced again including rotors a month after i bought the vehicle, there have been too many crackling and metallic tinging noises that don't go away, the 4 wheel drive engages and disengages on it's own when driving 65-70 miles an hour. the steering wheel had a constant rubbing noise and dealer told me all of my complaints were nothing detrimental and basically blew me off. the truck jerks alot on it's own doesn't matter if i am in motion or if i put it into gear or park it jerks. i don't feel safe in this vehicle, it seems to be possessed. i am scared to death to drive it, so i have stopped driving it. i don't know what to do. my first car was a chevy and now this one, i will never own another chevy product. i don't know what to do, i don't want this. i fear my own and everyone else's life!! *tr

I have a 2002 chev. trailblazer and 2 weeks ago the speedometer went upside down- it is not telling me i am going over 100mph or it tells me im going 0-to nothing. the gauge is upside down and will cost over 500 to get if fixed this is a new vehicle i don't think this is fair- if it were a 95 model i wouldn't be surprised but how many vehicles loose a speedometer gauge over within a vehicle that new? *tr

Transmission has failed at 55,000 miles, not driving car but was about to run errands. have had to replace power steering block, alternator, starter, tail lights, instrument panel, radio and electric on a car that is just over 5 years old. the instrument panel, power steering block and transmission are all not under warranty. *jb

I own a 2002 chevy trailblazer lt. at 56,000 miles i had to have the transmission rebuilt. then on march 12 2007 i took my car into the dealership to get the four wheel drive switch fixed because it was stuck in auto 4x4 after spending very close to a $1,000. we are now having the same problem again. front wheels stuck in awd while the rear wheels are stuck in 2wd. *tr

2002 chevrolet trailblazer with problems with car radio customer wants reimbursement for repairs**cc some type of electrical problem caused a loud pop to come through the speakers. the caused the radio to short out and the speakers to blow. the radio and speakers had been replaced several times. the amplifier also had to be replaced. the vehicle has been taken to the dealer on numerous occasions but they have been unable to correct the problem. the middle seat belt in the second row locked up as soon as it was fastened into the buckle. when the defroster was used the consumer heard a clicking noise. the dealer replaced the mode actuator and mode valve per tsb 04-01-38-002. the quarter panel on the roof seam sealer cracked and was rusted. the pull down strap on the rear hatch broke. the sway bar broke. a grinding noise was heard coming from the left front wheel when making sharp left turn. the dealer determined that suspension was misaligned and caused shield to touch rotor. the instrument cluster gauge was inoperative. the rear wiper did not touch the rear windshield. there was a high pitched noise coming from the right side tire whenever in motion. the dealer indicated it was improperly sealed. *nm

i just purchased this 2002 trailblazer sept 30 2006.. it was november 22, 2006- the 4 wheel drive indicator lights were blinking when i put it in reverse. the onstar lights were on. the seat belt lights were on. later the next day, my father got in my vehicle to move it, when the brake sensor came on and wouldn't go off. he didn't use the emergency brake. my father called apple chevy in west york pa to see what they could do. the 24th they called and said the vehicle needed a e.b.c.m. ( electronic brake control module ). i have a 9 month old son. i get to go pay for the bill, and it costs 930. 25 for a vehicle that wasn't that old. it does have 144, 000 + miles but it was well maintained or so i thought. they did a car fax and it was clean. or so i thought. apple chevy in west york wouldn't help with any cost repairs. they said when you get an as is vehicle, its your problem. well after 4 vehicles that my dad bought from them, we are no longer customers. me being a hot head, my dad told me to not say nothing and be nice. i kept my comments to a low roar. i called the general manager and he said an as is sale is what it is. i got no satisfaction. but a comment i said to him was- what if it was your wife and son what would you do? he said i wouldn't buy an as is vehicle. i basically asked if he wanted some lemonade from the vehicle i just got. i said well i must have sucker written on my head and that next time warn me about getting more ky for the screwing i just received. he basically said sorry i feel that way. we could bring it back and get something different from them. but i basically said no and hung up. still the radio malfunctions, the 4 wheel drive may work sometimes, the vehicle acted like it was in neutral. then after being towed, it acts fine. so at present, it sits in my parents garage not driven with $ i still pay for insurance and payments. i did hear a grinding from the shifter when putting it into drive. ...

Doors rattle and shift while driving down the road. the windows also rattle, particularly on the drivers side, front and back. also, the air/heat blower is stuck on #4. it won't blow on any other settings

A/c is running ok then, it starts blowing warm air. outside temp display drops quickly until it reaches +28 deg.f. (note that outside temp is +85 deg.f.) outside temp display starts rising slowly. when crosses +30 deg.f, a/c starts blowing cold air again. outside temp display then sticks at +50 deg.f and does not go any higher. *nm

A/c initially operates normally. outside temp display then begins decreasing. when displayed temp passes +25 deg.f, a/c no longer produces cold air. outside temp display continues dropping to -34 deg.f. after ~5 minutes, outside temp display starts rising. when temp display passes +25 deg.f, a/c starts producing cold air again. outside temp display reaches correct outside temp. occurs intermittently (i.e., once or twice a day -- or not). *nm

Tie rods, multiple transmission module problems, airbag, taillights, stop, turn signal rear problem, electrical/ wiring, radio, hvac, pressure control,2 batteries, 2 fan clutches, among other problems. *jb

The radio randomly changes station while driving, sometimes repeatedly. often it appears that this is related to turning as if something in the steering column is affecting this. this function is distracting to the driver. *nm

My vehicle is a 2002 chevrolet trail blazer of which i purchased new. since day one the vehicle has been plagued with a multitude of problems. it has had an engine replacement, clutch fan ($620.00), tail lights, hvac controls $(200), exhaust manifold, recall items and now finally a transmission failure where the sun shell/gear let go costing me ($1858.03). fast forward to today just 3 months after the transmission was "completely overhauled), the valve body id failing where the dealer has told me that "is not part of the 12 month, 12,000 warranty on the transmission."

I brought this suv from the dealership and i started having problems with it a month after i brought it. the car air conditioner stop working and the transmission was making a horrible sound. i took the car to the dealer to get fixed three times. all the times i took the car it came back the same way that i took at first. i also took it to a different dealer to get fixed and they also didn't fixed it. i want to cancel this suv purchase. mainly because even before t brought the suv the salesperson at the dealer added $5,000 to my income so i could qualify to get the suv, but that was completely a lie. right now i'm having many problems at work; that's the main reason i want to cancel the purchase of this suv, which is just giving me many problems. *jb

2002 chevrolet trailblazer experiencing problems with the air conditioner as well as with hesitation.*mr car hesistated every time the consumer tried to pick up speed. also had problems getting car started at times. had to play with the key on the passenger side door to start the car. the dealer couldn't duplicate the problem. the car sometimes shut off while in motion. *bf *nm

Re defective 2002 chevrolet trailblazer 4x4, problem with 4 wheel drive, a/c, batteries, taillights and electrical problems. *bf while driving 55 mph the vehicle's 4-wheel drive went into four wheel high or low intermittently. the vehicle's battery loses it's charge. the taillights went out and the blower in the air conditioner had to be replaced. fuel splashed out of the filler while the consumer was filling the tank. the vehicle stalled intermittently. *nm

Two weeks ago the clutch fan on my 2002 chevrolet trailblazer engaged before i left the house and never disengaged on a 15 mile trip to and from work with varying speeds (as low as residential, and as high as 70 mph). this is highly unusual for it to 'stick' in the engaged position. usually it engages on a cold start and is off within a minute or two. i went so far as to turn off the a/c figuring this could trigger the command to engage the cooling fan. i called the dealer i usually have my work done at, and they just said to bring it by. on the approximate 25 mile trip from my workplace to the dealer, at some point the fan decelerated from the 100% engagement i had been experiencing for two days, it illuminated the service engine soon (ses) and the cruise control failed (it was in use at the time, and was dangerous in that it suddenly decelerated on its own at highway speeds). the cruise control was not functional at all. upon arrival at the dealer, the fan had seemed to resume normal speeds, i relayed what had happened on the way here, and they hooked up the tech2 device, read the codes, cleared them, turned the light off, and then went on a test drive. no defect was noted and everything went for approximately one week. currently, the fan engages itself to 100% at nearly all times except at high rpms or at highway speed. this occurs whether the a/c is on, whether it's a cold start, or a warm start. i can drive 20 miles on the interstate, and on roads at 40 mph the fan will slowly engage itself. at 40 mph there should be enough ram air cooling. if i accelerate at a rapid rate, keeping the rpms high, the fan slowly disengages...but rengages shortly after the acceleration is ended (downshift, deceleration in speed, etc). this has become troublesome as it is surely causing excess wear and tear on the engine, is wasteful in that it causes outrageous fuel consumption, and is dreadfully loud on acceleration. currently, it has not turned on the ses light.*ak

2002 trailblazer has air conditioner problems. this is the third time this problem surface. it would produce hot air when the outside air temp is @mid 80's and the vents are producing extremely hot air when the temp selected (auto) to 74 and this time the driver air works fine but extremely hot air is coming out of the passenger side. does not matter what settings are selected. dealership states that this is a recurring problem with the trailblazer air conditioner. something with the sensor. *nm

Electronic exterior rearview mirrors and power seat engage and operate by themselves. dealership cannot fix the problem. *ak the memory for the mirrors and seat would not keep their position. when the consumer entered or exited the vehicle the systems would reset to a new position. occasionally they moved while the vehicle was in motion. the dealer has replaced many components but the problem still exist. the check engine light illuminated. the dealer replaced the oxygen sensor. the a/c control mode button became stuck and was noisy. the dealer replaced the a/c module head. the left windshield wiper chattered and skipped. the dealer replaced the wiper insert. the 4wd switch fluctuated between 4wh and a4wh. the dealer inspected the vehicle and replaced the transfer case select switch. *ts *nlm

Transmission went out couldn't drive-repaired/ rear window won't roll-up/seatbelt won't retract, later fixed, but still won't work on occasion/ brake lights have gone out 5+ times repaired still not operational/ water pump exploded/rear window won't lock first try/ check engine llight stays on. *ak

On my 2002 chevy trailblazer, i have ben pulled over by police 3 times because of one of my rear taillights always being out. i have brought it to the dealership 3 times since and have had it reparied. this will be # 4 in repairs to the light. *ak

It appears the truck is suffering from a major computer defect. with all fuses in tact, many functions no longer work (remote access, radio functions after ignition turn off, automatic volume increase on radio when accelerating). additionally, the 4x4 torque converter switch does not light up and appears to be nonfunctional, the airconditioning quits and after alleged repair, stays on all the time regardless if set to air or vent, the rear hatch is defective and can't be opened, the tail lights have burnt out three times and two headlighrs have burnt out.

My vehicle has been in the shop for these reasons and more. faulty back light- dvd systems. on top of all these it has had three recalls in the nine months i've owned it. bought it new!

I bought a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer lt new about 10 months ago the truck has been in for service many times for different things as for seatbelt looking up and wont release, brake lights failing, derectionals that blowout every few days,radio/cd player wasnt working, leakage of water everytime it rained etc etc.. anyways i just took it back on 6-9-03 for seatbelt to be done again and for the derectional that failed again and also to have truck inspected i picked it up later that day and found that the inspection sticker had a wrong vin # on it and that other work was done i left there knowing they said they dont know why the light in derectional keeps failing but they did change the bulbs { this is everytime i bring it this is all they do to fix it} on 6-10-03 the derectional wasnt working again my husband changed the light bulb this time due to the fact it takes me almost 40 mins to get to dealership .....i will be going to the dealership to ask for a copy of the history on truck and will be getting a lawyer involved and also contact the dealers commintion and channel 12 on this matter .....i payed almost 30,000 for a truck that is not worth it and i am a very unhappy costumer ..*ak

In november of 2002, jn automotive has reversed the odometer on my vehicle and i believe they are in violation of the federal odometer law. i just want to find some resources that will help me resolve this situation.

The vehicle stalled intermittently while driving. the dealer was unable to determine cause of problem.*ak the vehicle periodically shut off while in the idle position. the vehicle was delivered to the service department on several occasions to have the problem identified and corrected. as of 07/07/2003, the vehicle continued to have problems with loss of power and the service dept. has yet to determine the problem. *ph. the air condition developed a foul odor which was present after the vehicle sat in the sun, the odor was detected immediately after the vehicle was started and the ac was turned on, the vehicle was serviced times and then the problem returned, the air condition now takes a long period of time to cool the vehicle and produce cold air. *jb *scc *jb

Consumer states the instrument panel has failed on several occasions.*jb

Purchased feb 1, 2002. since then have had nothing but problems. had into 4 different dearlerships fixing many problems but after each visit another problem occurs. from tail lights burning out, windhshield wiper motor failures, instrument cluster replaced, heater control panel replaced once, memory mirror modules replaced 2 times, heated seat switches replaced 2 times, rear window defogger/replaced entire rear window 1 time, battery replaced 1 time ( said battery was at fault for current problems) battery was fine and charged me $ 150 for new battery that was not the correct battery replacement, exhaust gasket became loose/loud and had to be replaced, the fuel pump replaced because it just cut off as i was on the expressway going approx 65 miles an hour, i had to get to the side of the road quickly- had to be towed to dealership. problem fixed, however after i picked it up then the current problem began. i could go on and on with the problems that i have had. present problem is that whenever i turn on the heat it dies out with no warning---just stops and stalls. dealership says they fixd it but upon pick up the problem still exists. gone to pick it up 2 times, but when i start it and put on heat, it dies all over again even after dealership claims they fixed it. i live in chicago and it has been a cold winter. almost caused a crash on another expressway on way home from having the airbag sensor and a complete brake job done and all fluids changed. this vehicle is not worth $ 37,000 and i feel it is time that gm accept some responsibility for this lemon of a vehicle. it is my only vehicle and i am still paying dearly for it but lately cannot even use it as it remains in one dealership after another at my expense. i will not purchase another vehicle from gm. i need help and answers as i am not getting anywhere even with this vehicle still under warranty.*ak

Doors rattled and physically moved up and down when driving over bumps in the roadway. a/c does not cool properly after stopping and starting again. wind noise around driver and passenger front windows. front windshield molding came loose while driving. *ph
