The brake pedal is too close to the driver in relation to the gas pedal. the distance of each pedal cannot be adjusted independently. a driver's foot can be trapped in between the two pedals because of the gap. in a fatal situation, it takes longer for the right foot to move from the gas pedal to the brake pedal since the right foot cannot just move laterally to the left, but it needs to go around.
