Problems with 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe AIR BAGS

It has been over a year since i got the letter recalling my airbag and i have had no other information. i call the dealer and they tell me i have to wait for chevy to send me another letter saying i can get my truck repaired. my wife is pregnant and that is her only car available to drive. this issue needs to be fixed now.

Tahoe was involved in front colision with another vehicle and bags did not deploy. bumper, hood damaged. bumper metal bracket pushed in.tahoe was turning left on light when struck be another vehicle like head on.

Dashboard is cracked in three locations. 1st and 2nd: over passenger side airbag from upper corners of the airbag to the air-vent panel 3rd: approximately 8 inches along the top of the driver instrument panel to the air-vent panel. additional separation between panels is created during temperature changes or running the heater in cold weather. have had two dealerships tell me it is a normal, known, and reoccurring problem with the body-style but offered to replace it for over $1,000.

Takata recall. i received notice of the recall in may of 2016. i have made numerous attempts to contact local chevy dealers and to date no recourse. i have had a "service air bag" light on for close to two years but the repair shop does not want to provide service on this because of the recall. i can, at times, drive upto 1000 miles a week, it would be nice if this could be taken care of.

No accident or anything like it has happened. thank god. this recall has been in effect since 2016 but we were told it was not a priority to replace, so nothing has been done about replacing them. does an accident need to happen to make the replacement?

The dashboard of the vehicle cracks in multiple locations to include around the airbag. should he airbag deploy it will be punctured by sharp pieces from the dashboard. this makes the vehicle unsafe and ithe airbags ineffective should the deploy. the manufacturer shoud issue a recall.

Crack in the dash on drivers side. interior door handles have caused cuts to hands. service battery charging system light continues to come on. i have had the car serviced & mechanics can not locate the issue. seems to be an electrical malfunction.

The plastic dashbord has cracks on the edge of the airbag unit and over the top of the speedometer unit. there is also major cracks on 30 to 40 percent of the flat portion of the dash.these cracks are sharp and severe. the cracking started and has eventually gotten worse over time to the point of a safety concern. if the airbag is deployed there is great risk that the dash board may come apart and kill or injure the passenger and others in the vehicle. i have read hundreds of complaints on the internet in regards to this safety issue. please investigate to find out if a repair or recall is needed. as an engineer i believe gm should make the repair.

The dashboard around the passenger air bag is all has cracked and broken.with no reason. it also broken in the left side of the dash. it suddenly happened while it was small crack and vermin few weeks become a big crack.

Air bag lights came on and sensors need to be replaced i should not have to pay for this being it is a safety issue and it is defect on gmc part.

Riding down the road downtown atlanta , the side only rollover airbags deployed for no reason.

Takata recall the dash of my 2007 chevrolet tahoe is cracked severely, if the airbag does deploy the whole dash will probably deploy with it. this is a serious hazard.

While cleaning the dashboard i heard a loud noise and noticed it had cracked in two places. one over the drivers side "hump" and the other at the air bag. it now has three cracks.

The dashboard has started cracking in multiple locations. i take extremely good care of my vehicle and have never experienced this with any other vehicle before ( level a 2003 yukon we had for 14 years).

All side airbags curtains deployed for no apparent reason.the dash board has a long crack nearly the entire length.

Takata recall- the service airbag indicator light has been on in my 2007 chevrolet tahoe since 2015. since then i have tried numerous times to contact my local chevrolet dealer (momentum chevrolet in san jose ca) to resolve the safety issue. not only did they failed to come up with a resolution to the safety of my family vehicle they took my personal information to call me back and try to sell me a new car, disregarding my initial complaint about the safety of my chevy tahoe.

The passenger side air bag has a big crack in the dash right above the air bag. this concerns me as i have 4 children and am scared that this may deploy while one of them is in the front seat. i see that there are many complaints on this same issue. i also have an issue with the asb light and stabilitrak lights where they are both on in the driver display dash. every once in a while they will reset, but then in a day or so these error messages come back on. i also noticed that there are many complaints on this issue as well. please gm do a recall on these issues!!

Air bag recalls, around my airbags the dashboard is cracked. my check engine light is always on because of the gas cap. so that makes my automatic start not work. very disappointed. would love to give my son a truck i worked so hard to pay for... but the airbags being recalled and dealership not having airbags to replace is very unfortunate for the safety of myself, my children, and my family. i wish gm would make it right!

About couple months ago we notice about an 8 inch long crack on the dashboard above the cluster driver side. and i first thought it had to be sun damage. so pretty bum about it. then recently about a week ago watching the local news on tv. there was a similar issue about crack dashboards. and then checking on this website there's multiple very identical issues. so now in hope there's a recall coming soon. and also notice the inside door handles the chrome is coming apart leaving really sharp edges. so i notice there's similar complaints in regards to this door handles. *tr

The vehicles dash board cracked near the air bag. there is sharp plastic around the air bag that may create a safety issue.

I have two cracks in my dashboard. one is huge over the drivers side control cluster and the second, i believe, poses a big safety concern. the second crack is at the corner of the passenger airbag. i'm concerned that the airbag will not deploy with this defect and if it does the sharp edges/shards of the dash will either injure the passenger and/or others in the car, or rip the airbag making it useless. airbags are a legal requirement. i have been on many forums and pages regarding the chevy tahoe and there are hundreds of people with this very same problem. i really believe gm/chevy should order a recall. i also have a minor claim about the rubber on the steering wheel and the paint on the stereo/climate control buttons. all of which is peeling off. i have also see hundreds of writings about this problem. we have already had to replace the steering wheel and stereo/climate control. and the problem persisted on the new items. i paid way to much for the vehicle to be doing this. i also have no intentions of getting a new car; however, as they problem persist, especially the safety issues. i just may be forced to . *tr

The dashboard on the passenger side around the air bag has cracked significantly and the area on either side of the air bag cover are bowing up. it appears that where is a significant risk of the dashboard fragmenting if the air bag were to be deployed. *tr

Noticed cracks in dashboard. 1. above instrument cluster approx.6 " vertical to driver , 2nd is at the upper left corner of passenger air bag. safety concern is flying projectile (s) of dash plastic to driver and or passengers if air bag(s) are deployed. *tr

Dash around airbags is cracking and failing. it's a very common problem and gm refuses to rectify. conceivably a piece of dash could break off during an airbag deployment. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe. the contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the contact blacked out and crashed into the guardrail. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained head injuries that required medical attention. a police report was filed. on another occasions, while making a left turn at 15 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. a police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. the contact also stated that there were two large cracks in the dashboard and a third crack developed as a result of the first crash. the vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the diagnosis was unknown. the vehicle was repaired after both failures. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,000.

Car has cracks in dashboard with loose pieces of plastic around airbag. worried that if the airbag deploys, pieces of sharp plastic could injure someone. *js

While vehicle was sitting still not running, not in use. vehicle was setting in my driveway, weather was around 45-50 degrees and the dash cracked in 3 spots, 2 spaces above the instrument cluster and one over the air bag area., i have did extensive research on internet and verified that there is several cases of this happening in this particuler make/model and year of vehicle. if there was an accident the material from the dash cracking could cause cuts/or extensive wounds by producing flying debis from the air bag going off since the dash is cracking over the air bags. i have contacted gm/chevrolet and had the vehicle inspected per their request, they didn't admit there wasn't a manufacturing flaw but they denied repairing the vehicle stating that i wasn't the original owner even though i bought gm dealreship. the service department where the vehicle was inspected verified the cracks in the dash and they were very large. *tr

Vehicle #1 (my 2007 tahoe lt3) was traveling north on hwy 278 in powder springs, ga. vehicle 2 (toyota 4runner) was traveling south. vehicle 2 crossed center line and went into a spin crashing into the door and right front wheel and fender which propelled/launched my 2007 tahoe across one lane of traffic into the guard rail striking the guard rail with my passenger front fender and bumper. my tahoe was totaled by insurance. onstar which i have paid for since 2007 did not register the crash and my air bags did not deploy. i suffered severe whiplash from being hit in the driver side then an second impact as i hit the guard rail. my seat belts protected me from the driver side impact; however, because my right shoulder and side of my body thrown across the tahoe console for the impact of the guard rail, i suffered injuries to the right side of my body as well. the left impact and then the right side impact caused severe whiplash and ensuing headaches. *tr
