Takata recall

The seatbelts in the second row do not retract properly and twist easily in the housing causing the seatbelt to not retract at all. the issue was first noticed on the passenger side when my son started sitting in a booster seat. the seat belt would not retract after taking seatbelt off. the seatbelt would have to me manually pushed into the housing in order to pull it out again to wear. one day he put his seatbelt on and it twisted in the housing and got stuck. i changed his seat to the drivers side. the seatbelt on that side also had the same retracting issue and now it also twisted in the housing making it inoperable. i contacted chevrolet and they said they could not do anything to help me due to the age of my vehicle and that i needed to call a dealer. i contacted a dealer and was told i would have to pay to have the seatbelt problem diagnosed and that i would be responsible for the repair costs. this is a seatbelt that is not working properly, it has never been used improperly or damaged by me. a seat belt should safely work for the life of the vehicle not just the warranty period.
