The idiots on this site has injured my brain an there's a speed control issue not stopping these people from making stupid complaints get a grip people 90 precent of your complaints is normal wear and tear fix it for god sakes if not buy a new vehicle but guess what its gonna break down to. *tr

I purchased my 1999 chevy tahoe in 2004 with 87,000 miles from original owner. i received all maintenance records from original owner, as well as original dealership price/option sticker. i noticed once over 100,000 miles there was an electrical malfunction or problem, like a power surge anytime the power window buttons are depressed and when i accelerate, there is a surge and when truck slows down or is in park, there is n surge. there is sudden energy! there is also a problem with the dashboard/radio and switch buttons below lights working. they have failed! electrical problems can cause fires and i have noticed it is not my tahoe only with the same existing electrical problems, as i have been looking for a second vehicle, as i have my kids both of driving age and my 1999 tahoe ls is my only vehicle. i feel safe on the road in my tahoe. i love the four wheel drive option, as i live in minnesota and i could not live without it over the winter months! i am also very proud to point out, my tahoe has 343,000+ miles on it and still going strong!!!! i can not afford a new tahoe, as i am on a fixed disability income now, so i am shopping for a 1999 or newer at a reasonable price. i am satisfied with all the years i have driven mine and hope to get many more years out of it. people are amazed when i tell them how many miles are actual miles on my tahoe. i am amazed, as well. :) [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

When the gas pedal is released the car continues at current speed for 5 to 8 seconds before decelerating. the tachometer reading does not drop during this time. this happens at highway speeds and driving around town speeds. it's scary. it will decelerate and the tachometer reading drop when the brakes are applied, but i'm never sure.*ak

While merging and acelerating vehicle loses steering control, forcing vehicle into a guardrail. manufacturer notified. feel free to provide any further information on this matter. *ak

Vehicle fails to slow down when accelerator is released. when releasng the accelerator i notice that tachometer remains at the same rpm. at first this trouble was intermittant but has progressively failed more often until now it is continous. the only way to slow the vehicle down is by braking using the vehicle's brakes. when the engine braking was working ok, about two seconds after taking your foot of the accelerator it would slow down properly. i contacted the dealer on 2/22/2001 and he supposedly took it for a test run, however, the odometer in and out were identical, 26528 miles. when i contacted them again, their latest response was that they all do that and there is nothing i can do to have it corrected. i feel that if the problem is not corrected shortly it will cause premature brake failure because of excessive braking which could lead to an accident.*ak

Consumer attempted to put vehicle in reverse, the vehicle strongly resisted any movement, consumer realized that some how the 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive were engaged and at no time were either turned on, vehicle was towed to dealer and no problem was found, these failures could possibly be due to a faulty transmission control module. *slc

While pulling out from a parking lot at 15mph and when picking at speed at 30 to 40 mph, vehicle accelerated at 40 mph and kept accelerating. consuemr applied the brakes, and the vehicle kept accelerating. when the consumer got to a red light, turned vehicle off, and when restarting, vehicle did'nt accelerate. *ak

When taking foot of gas pedal vehicle will continue at current speed without slowing down. in order to slow vehicle down, consumer must apply brakes. when consumer took vehicle to dealership, they installed an idle air control valve which corrected this defect for approximately 4,000 miles. "cruise" defect happened again, and the idle air control valve was replaced by a different dealership. at 29,000 miles, engine will back down approximately 5 to 10 seconds after the consumer removes foot from gas pedal. *ak the dealer could not duplicate the problem and stated the condition of the vehicle as normal. *yh

Vehicle does not slow down when accelerator pedal is released, unable to rectify problem due to possible design defect. mjs

Vehicle does not decelerate when consumer takes foot off gas pedal.
