We have classified the 17 complaints from 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 about EXTERIOR LIGHTING into the following categories.
I was at a stop sign trying to make a left hand turn and the truck steering locked up and then it happened again in a drive thru fast food place. i'm scared it's going to cause me to wreck while driving. i have no control of the truck when it happens and my lights, radio, and door locks go out then come back on.
Headlights flickering when on. while in motion my stabilitrack light illuminates along with the seatbelt light. when using the turn signal the radio display goes out for about a second and turns back on. when braking the radio display goes off for a second. i get a low battery signal maybe 2 or 3 times a week, i drive my truck daily. it has 76k miles. i lose power steering after about 150 mile drive. its been happening for about 3-4 months. 4/22/2019 was the worst. all of it happened yesterday on a 175 mile drive
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving approximately 30 mph and approaching a red light, the brake pedal was depressed, but felt very hard. the contact had to pump the brake pedal several times to stop the vehicle. the contact stated that the brake failure occurred for the past two months on a daily basis. the contact also stated that the headlight assemblies were fractured and caused the headlights to be very dim. the contact drove the vehicle to jud kuhn chevrolet (3740 hwy 9 e, little river, sc 29566) and they offered to repair the headlight assemblies; however, the contact would have to pay half of the repair cost. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 65,216.
I noticed a water leak in the head liner by the rear passenger seat. i had it inspected and i was told that there have been reports of water leaks coming through the third brake light above the back window. we tried fixing it using a new gasket, silicone, and even a new light with new seals and nothing has fixed the issue.
Continuous headlight burout. new lights last approx 2 months. led, halogen or incandescent.
Rear tail light wiring harness for both right and left side let moisture in causing corrosion in the electrical plugs. the turn signals have been impacted and have had to both be replaced within 8 months of each other.
Front headlight assemblies cracking only on the daytime running lights not on the high beam a known issue that gm is ignoring and its dealerships other owners are complaining about has greatly impacted me driving my truck at night like i said gm knows about the defect in their headlight assemblies as i was told from the gm mechanic and service writer and gm owners are complaining about it all over the inter net starts a little bit over time until its very noticable starts spider wed cracks
The third brake light on my 2015 1500 silverado leaked into my headliner. now there is a brown line all the way across my headliner above the rear window. even the service guy at chevy said it wouldn't leank anymore. he has had quite a few trucks come through with this issue. the fix was $153.00. how will i know if mold forms due to this? my truck was sitting in my driveway during the rain.
One morning when i was driving my 2015 chevy silverado, i noticed a message on the dash board screen which read "right rear tail light signal failure. i went to the nearest auto parts store and purchased replacement bulbs and noticed that the bulbs weren't the problem. i also checked the fuses and did not find any blown fuses which again wasn't the problem. however the right rear tail light will turn on if the lights are on but will not blink when the signal light is on or if the brakes are engaged. later that night i realized that none of the interior lights worked either; weather the light is in the door position or the on position. i'm not really sure what the problem is but with this truck being so new with less than 45000 miles, these problems shouldn't be happening.
It began with the headlights/parking lights flickering for a few weeks. later the truck began to give error messages about stability control, trailer brake control, and others. finally it violently jerked the steering wheel out of my hands on numerous occasions (truck has electric power steering). this happened at approximately 45 mph in various turns but i am concerned it could happen at highway speeds which would cause a serious crash and/or death. i am afraid to drive this vehicle especially with my family members on board.
2015 chevrolet silverado high country low beam headlamp performance is completely unacceptable. they are a projector style headlamp configuration which emits a very focused beam of light that is so narrow from side to side that when stopped at a stop sign you have extremely limited peripheral vision. the beam of light is far enough ahead of the truck and has such a sharp cutoff line, you cannot see if there is anybody standing on the sidewalk waiting to cross. it's also very difficult to see where you can turn from street to street because there again is such a limited field of light projected. overall the headlamps are very dim. high beam performance is acceptable because both the low and high beams lamps are on at the same time. the high beam lamp is a complex reflector configuration that has been around for decades and works well. it's unfortunate that high beams are used very little because of the other cars and trucks on the road. it's a shame that a pickup with a list price of over $50,000 has such poor headlamps.
The low beam lighting on the chevrolet 1500 high country projector style headlamps is very poor. low light output and what light there is in very narrowly focused in front of the truck. little or no lighting to the sides which makes it very difficult to see when making a turn.

My head lights, both hi and low are to deem to drive safely at night, wheather i am on the interstate or in the country side.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving at night, the headlights were not bright enough to see forward and on the side. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was unable to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was approximately 14,100. ..updated 08/24/16 *bf
I was in an accident driving slow. couldn't control the steering. would only go straight. air bag did not engage and seat belt did not work. lights go dim and flash. radio display not working correct. but main concern is inside lights go dim or flash.on city streets driving slow.
My chevrolet silverado has terrible headlights. they are not bright enough and do not light the road properly. if the low beams are adjusted higher the high beams no longer illuminate the road. the high and low beams are in a one piece assembly and cannot be adjusted independently. i live in a rural area with a high deer population and require good headlights. in my opinion the highs and lows should be independent and have much brighter bulbs.
Poor headlights, won't drive the truck at night because of the poor illumination
