Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

My truck shuts it's self off as your driving at any speed. i was doing 50 on the highway today when it shut down with no warning. i pulled of the road put it in park turned the key off. and it restarted. the truck has also had many other isues when i took the dealer for the break recall there were 5 coads all were electrical issues.the steering assist comes on when driving along minding your own business.

Engine is making a ticking/knocking noise took it chevy dealership they said its a fuel injecting pump.. searched videos on youtube a lot of chevy silverado owners have the same complaint we are spending lots of money to buy these vehicles that we expect to last please look into this search videos with key words of 2014-2018 silverado engine noise this issue should be a recall with a doubt if we are spending money on chevy brand trucks that are known to last.

The air conditioning condenser split at the seams, loss of all coolant.

I've had 2 separate issues regarding my ac system. 1st was my ac compressor failed and locked and all freon came out and 1 1/2 years later my ac condenser randomly developed a leak freon escaped again. i've contacted general motors about this issue and they have masked it with 'warranty repairs'. i've done researched and this has happened on numerous chevrolet and gmc trucks. they said there wouldn't be recall unless this company reported a safety recall. i was actually directed to you guys by a supervisor of the customer of general motors. if need be i could send several forum sites and actual testimonials of owners issues just like mine.

My air conditioner started blowing only hot air and i noticed a leak in the condenser. this is apparently a huge issue which gm knows about with 2014-2016 silverados. there have been lawsuits filed and many complaints submitted. there is obviously a faulty part or parts that gm knows about and refuses to acknowledge.

Cooling system went from cooling fine then only blows hot air for about 30 minutes after driving then only cools to about 65 degrees.

Compressor for air conditioning seized up and caused the belt to brake the condenser was also heavily leaking. first comment out of the service managers mouth was this is a very common problem with silverados and sierras. don't know why the suv were recalled and the trucks were not. with only 30000 miles it is very unacceptable

Loss of freon from condenser unit at 45,000. loss of freon caused ac system to stop working placing passengers in a very uncomfortable environment. this appears to be an ongoing defect for the 2014-2016 chevrolet silverado 1500 model years. gm has addressed with the same model year suv's, special coverage 17336 but not the silverado.

Weld on ac condenser defective

Truck started blowing warm air, loss of freon from condenser. $1,200.00 fix . also, a leak of freon at the transmission cooler coil.

The truck continues to shut off when ever im driving it no matter where i'm at. on the freeway or making a turn it will just shut off. everything goes dead.

Problem with the a/c unit not staying cold. on line found that gm knew about defective a/c units before vehicles were even touched the dealers lots.two defective components- (1)-line leading from the compressor to the condensor.(2)-defective air conditioner condensers.system was filled a/c returned after two days warm again-this a repair the dealer should be held responsible for and to have repaired with no cost to customer.vehicle was tested by me stationary and again while driving .noticeable smoke could be seen on and off when truck is running being stationary.

Takata recall, my 2014 chevrolet silverado 6.2l high country has had air conditioning problems since i bought it, the ac lines develope pin hole size leaks even after fixing it over and over, the ac line has no brackets or brace to keep the line from moving or shifting when driving on ruff terrain or some what bumpy roads. i've had 6 leaks fixed year after year never in the same spot, the ac lines design is horrible and i'm tired of paying for something that should had been prevented or recalled by now!! almost everybody with these models and year of trucks have issues with the ac, it's time to fix the problems now!!

Ac condenser leaking. truck has 111,500 miles and ac went out while on a trip. had ac serviced, one month later took it back and shop showed me that the condenser is leaking at the weld in the upper right hand corner of the condenser. same location that i saw today on several other pictures of leaking condensers. gm is not insuring that the part is high quality. recall should be mandated immediately.

Welds on air conditioning condenser/transmission cooler failed causing the freon to be released and ac system to fail. vehicle was traveling on the interstate when this occurred.

* ac when out yesterday is only 5 years old i search on youtube and a lot people has the same problem is funny because some people say is common this problem no is not general motors sure make a recall and fixed . *air bag light is on after my 2 nd year *rear middle seat won't latch

Defective air conditioning. the truck has an air conditioning system fail before it hit 65k. and being less than 4 years old. really frustrating when a dealer wants 1100 to 1300 dollars to fix something that should not be broken after only 65k mi.

Takata recall a/c condenser has a leak. quite a pain when thousands of people are having the same issue with these chevy trucks.

Ac condenser has a hole which is causing the freon to leak. this is a known gm issue that has not been corrected. driving with the windows down is not always an option and as a result unsafe air and heat conditions are experienced

I have a 2014 silverado and have been getting off and on gas smell in the cab. have had a mechanic like ok at every possibility it could be and have found nothing. heat is on and it is winter time some times worse when you stop and then turn right.

Started vehicle pulled out of garage and power went out and vehicle stopped everything shut off. wouldn't start. no power at all. then waited about 1 minute and truck started and everything was reset, clock time. and it displayed some error on dashboard about rolling down window and it will clear system . but couldn't because about 2 hours before i drove 7 miles to pick my son up from school and got out of truck got my son and when we got back into truck put key in and turned it nothing truck wouldn't start. nothing at all. waited a minute tried again truck started right up. except my window wouldn't roll down driver front window. every other window works. this truck is barely 4 years old.

Moisture forming on inside of winshield

Truck has 53,000 miles and air condition went out. no longer covered by warranty according to chevy dealer.

On multiple occasions, i'd say about 4, when reversing slowly it felt like the brakes went out. i had to push the pedal all the way down in order to get the truck to completely come to a stop.

Leaking headliner coming in through the 3rd brake light and xm satellite radio

Complete a/c failure in 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500 ltz z71 while on vacation. stopped to get gas and a/c would not cool upon restarting the vehicle. 475 miles later at 95 degrees, i was able to get the vehicle into the dealership. defective condenser had to be replaced, (at my expense), with new "redesigned" gm part at a cost of $1,309.94. found numerous examples of this exact same problems through my dealer and the internet. gm has offered no relief for this defect. in fact they have tried to mislead me by stating that the dealer used a refurbished part which is not covered by any warranty. this is an outright lie!

This is the 3rd ac condenser that has failed on this same type of vehicle. gm refuses to acknowledge that is is a factory defective part and continues to charge customers $1,000's of dollars for repairs. there are hundreds of thousands of complaints from customers. who is going to hold them accountable?

We started having a problem with our air condition for 3 months now, it just blows warm air. we tried taking it to the dealer but was told that it was not covered with the warranty. we found out that there was a leak in the condenser. i've found out that there was so much people complaining with the same issue & with the same vehicle. whether the car was running or stationary or in which road it was going the air conditioner does not work at all it was just blowing hot air.

Austin, tx 2nd time ac goes out, truck has 67,000 miles. previous failure (nov, 2016 @ 39378 miles) was due to faulty line/design in refrigerant discharge hose. had repaired by dealer and bracket installed. sept. 2018, after leaving truck parked for several days while traveling, experienced warm air blowing out of vents upon return. working with dealer to resolve, for the 2nd time.

Air conditioning-gm has known about the wide spread problem of there air conditioners in my truck as well as many other trucks just like mine. however they do not issue a recall for the problem which should have be done and many people agree on this issue because the part which is the condinser is a critical part in the air condition system

The air conditioner condenser has a small leak causing the refrigerant to leak out. this is a known problem with all gm silverados 2014-2017 and a recall needs to be issued. they are all leaking in the same place due to a faulty weld from the factory. this is a $1200 repair.

I purchased this vehicle june of 2018. i currently have 6+ pain chips on the truck and it keeps getting worse. i do not take the truck through automatic car washes and i keep the truck in a garage. i have seen other chevy silverado owners with the exact issue. i do not feel we should have to pay for these damages as its a defect to their paint job.

My truck has been making a sudden, momentary grinding or zipper sound, usually happens when i accelerate hard. it doesn't do it all the time, only sporadically but seems to be happening more often and at lower rates of speed now. when it began, i was usually doing around 70 mph, but has started to do it around 55 mph and then today it did it at around 40 mph. i have brought it in twice, but they couldn't work on it because the truck never made the noise while the mechanic was with me.

Vehicle wont start, battery is fine, and electrical system went haywire, says to service each system seperately when trying to start. all passenger doors stopped locking and unlocking with key fobs and with door buttons as well. completely stranded without a vehicle. the vehicle was stationary, fortunantly.

I believe my truck has a manufacturer defect in the air conditioner condenser. my air conditioning stopped working and now only blows warm air. i was driving when this happened.

57k on my 2014 silverado and the ac went out. blowing hot air on a 45thousand dollar truck isn't acceptable more research i found out that it's a condenser failure on theses truck is very wide spread not just a very small number of trucks please can you have chevy do a recall to fix this or problem

The air conditioning condenser was not engineered to a reasonable quality specification. this condition caused it to crack and allow the freon to leak out. i replaced the condenser and reciever dryer (since the system was unpressurized) and then pay a professional to evacuate the system and recharge it. i work with another owner of a 2014 silverado. he had the exact same problem. that's what prompted my to see if there was a recall. i also saw a brief segment on chicago nbc news (youtube) about this problem. general motors not taking responsibility yet. please help!

The ac stopped working. all is does is blow hot air. after research this seems to be a very common problem on this vechile.

At only 42,000 miles (warranty is 36,00 or 3 years) there is a crack in my a/c hose. the a/c was blowing hot air. they found a cracked hose at dealership part # 2348932 needed to be replaced along with a bracket costing $750.00. this is ridiculous for a truck with very little mileage.

A/c went out, coming up on some hot days. the a/c hose after only 41000 miles has worn a hole in it somehow. how is that possible? dealership in san leandro wants $750 to replace it. i have seen issues with the condensor wondering if people have complained about this as well.

On june 3, 2018 upon cranking the truck, the a/c began blowing extremely hot air to the point it left a red mark across my hand after feeling for the vent waiting for the temperature to cool down. it was 90 degrees outside and raining so windows couldn't be rolled down. windshield remained foggy due to humidity within the truck and i had to pull over frequently when driving in order to wipe the windshield to be able to see. two children in the backseat of the truck, one in a rear facing car seat were beyond over heated and well on their way to heat exhaustion by the time we reached the dealership due to temperatures reaching above 95 within the cab. truck was seen at dealership and was advised due to vibration from driving, the a/c discharge hose was cracked allowing the heat from the engine to be blown directly into the cab of the truck. hose was replaced ad a bracket added to improve the stability of the hose and refrigerant added. eight months and 4 days later, a/c suddenly began blowing hot air again. was advised at the dealership that the high side service port was now leaking and needed a valve replacement and refrigerant added again.

We have had trouble with our transmission going into neutral while driving. loses power as if it were put into neutral. also our air conditioning is horrible.

A/c issues with truck, this truck and many other 2014/2015 silverado's have issues, as anyone can look online and see. iv called chevrolet and told them of my problems and issues, they told me to file a complaint at this website

Paint is peeling. started out with a small piece of paint peeling on the back drivers side door. this evening i found a much larger place missing paint on the drivers side just to the left of the windshield. i did a google search and found this is a common problem with 2014+ model years. is anything being researched or done about this so that gm is will correct the issue? i expect more from a $40k+ vehicle.

Air compressor out in 2014 silverado. known defect and nothing is being done about it

A/c only blows hot air, cannot defog windows at certain times and increases the likely hood of my newborn getting over heated. it is a known issue with general motors and they said it is the nhtsa that will not do the recall because it is not dangerous. well we will see how dangerous it is when we cant see because it will not defog window or what the hospital bill will be when my newborn overheats because of a faulty a/c compressor and bracket for the hose. a 2014 should not need a $1600.00 repair. that is 3 months payments for a a/c.

My 2014 chevrolet silverado has the chevy shakes at highway speeds. the truck begins vibrating at 70-80 miles per hour. begins to reduce the shaking between 80-83 and then shakes even worse at 85+mph. the shaking is so bad it causes water to shake out of a cup in the cup holder. not only does the steering wheel vibrate, but the entire center console, and the front seats. the vibration didn't begin until i hit 60,000 miles and seems to worsen with the higher mileage. i now fear for my safety, because i skidded the in the rain due the vibration at highway speeds. i only have videos showing the vibration. total bummer. i had my tires checked and balanced (which have been on the truck for 1 year +, prior to the vibration starting) my truck has lifetime alignment on it, and this is not the issue either.

Paint peeling, the vehicle has never been off road. peeling around the doors but gm wont fix it and now its out of warranty.

62000 miles, and my 2014 silverado's, ac condensor is gapped, and seeping freon...this needs to be a national recall. even an ac man told me he keeps a huge amount of these condensors on hand because they break too often, and too early in a 2014-15 silverado's. simply a design flaw ..and say to costly for such a simple crack. thank you for recalling this.

The air conditioning system failed because of a leaking condenser with only 51,000 miles on the truck. researched and found this to be a frequent problem that gm is aware of. gm needs to recall this and repair these vehicles. i wrote to chevy and they will not reimburse the fees i had to pay for repair. the issue needs to be addressed, this system failing when just outside warranty is not right.
