Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated that a mold odor came out of the air conditioning unit. the odor caused the passengers to cough and their eyes to burn. medical attention was not required. the dealer (preston hood chevrolet, 212 hollywood blvd sw, fort walton beach, fl 32548) stated that the vehicle was not included in tsb: 99-01-39-004i. the manufacturer was contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 110,647.
Dash on my truck is cracked in multiple places, with one near the airbag. i'm concerned that if my airbag ever inflates, pieces of the dash will become projectiles due to how brittle it is. this could cause serious injury.

I was on highway 84 passing another car at speed 75 mph the door locks started came on and off, the safety belt lights came on, the engine started to slow and speed up, the clock went from 4:00 pm to 12:00 pm, the date went to 01/01/2004, the a/c started to blow hot air. i stopped on the shoulder and turned it off, everything stopped only the abs light stayed on. i called onstar to check what's wrong, they said everything looks good, check the tires, if the tires are good, you are good to drive. all tires were 33psi. i reset all the electronic functions and went home. i was in danger for at least 5 minutes in the left lane passing another car.
Cracks on the dashboard suddenly appear at the passenger air bag side and above the radio controls. i'm the original owner and always take care of my truck, this is just very poor quality and possible a safety issue since cracks are next to the air bag! gm must replace this at no cost for the customers!
This vehicle was purchased new in 2008 and with 40,000 miles the dash board has cracked in 3 different places, 1 crack is on the corner of the passenger air bag which could be a safety issue if the airbag deployed. this problem happened just sitting in my driveway.

The dash on these vehicles crack for no reason at all. i'm a bit worried that if an airbag was deployed that someone could be injured due to the sharp debris from the hard plastic these dashes are made of. there is numerous trucks from gm which these dashes are cracking in the same spots and gm is not recalling them which they should. it is going to end up being a liability and someone will get injured due to there cheap plastic and poor engineering! my truck barely gets drove and sits in my driveway and i have came out twice to find two new cracks out of nowhere!
