Every 2500 mile after a oil change i get a low oil engine light and have to add a quart in a half of oil to top it off again. after doing gm's oil consumption test three times gm tells me that the dealer that i was bring my truck to for the oil consumption test stated that i was drive my truck to hard are i was pulling something. *tr

I own 2007 chevrolet silverado 1500 crew cab work truck (new body style) which i purchased new in sept. 2007. on approximately november 2, 2009 while entering my vehicle, the plastic lumbar support broke as i was sitting down in the driver seat. thus forcing my body weight to push the foam and plastic cover out of the back portion of the seat frame. i then removed the remaining attached seat back to locate the problem. i found that there are four thin, pivoting plastic arms that flex when the manual knob is turned for adjustment. these arms are holding the plastic lumbar support in place along with four thin aluminum rods. in the event of a rear end impact, this defect could cause serious spinal and/or neck injury. please note, that i am a state law enforcement officer and that i feel this situation be thoroughly investigated. this incident was reported to the dealer and no further action nor interest was demonstrated by the dealer or gm. replacement part was quoted at approximately $120.00 + labor. thank you. *tr

I hit a vehicle in the rear and then another vehicle hit me in the rear. the front seats of my 2007 silverado fell/reclined into the back seat. i was unable to pull the seats forward after the crash. *tr

The rear head rest on my and every other chevrolet silverado crew cab on the dealers lot do not stay in the up position if a small amount of force is put on them. i was told by the dealer that this is normal since they all do it. i feel that this is unsafe for the rear passengers of my truck if i am in an accident. the head rest problem was brought to my attention by my son when he raised the head rest and then leaned his head on it and it fell down to it's low position. there has been no accident or injuries yet but there could be in a rear end collision. thank you for your service. *tr

Tl*the contact was vehicle shopping for a 2007 chevrolet silverado 1500. while at the dealer, the contact noticed that the rear seat headrest was unable to be adjusted properly and provided insufficient support for anyone over 5'8. the contact believes that the failure could lead to whiplash injuries in the event of a crash. he stated that with previous models, the headrest could be adjusted according to his height; however, newer models no longer have that option. the vin and mileage information were unknown since the contact did not own the vehicle. remailed 07/01/08. *lj updated 09/24/08 *bf updated 10/01/08. *jb

Driver's side seat welds that hold the seat on the frame/body broke causing noticeable creaking and grinding noises with slight movement when coming to stops or accelerating. this is an '07 silverado 1500 classic work truck. i have read of similar cases at other web sites. dealership is currently fixing the problem but, tried to put off the repair for a second time as though they did not want to do it. *tr
