Aluminum wheels corrode causing tires to leak air. 60,000 miles in the truck. the vehicle wasn't even driven in the snow here in michigan for the 1st 5 years i had it. tires lose about 10 lbs of pressure over a weeks time. *tr 4th s-10 i've owned. this 1999 is nickel and diming me to death. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while exiting the expressway at 25 mph the spare tire, which is held underneath vehicle by a supporting cable, dislodged and the spare tire rolled into the road causing vehicle to run over the tire. the manufacturer was contacted and determined that the vehicle was not under warranty therefore they would not provide service without cost. the vehicle was also taken to local dealers who confirmed the manufacturers statement. no repairs were made to the vehicle. updated 7/13/2006 - *nm

Firestone fr440 purchased new for 99 chevrolet s-10 pickup with 33,900 miles. after new tires had 150 miles on them, i had a blow out at 65 mph on the freeway. the tire was shredded, sidewall looked really thin. tire was replaced because i had purchased "road hazard warranty" wanted 4 new tires for light truck. still pending.*ak

Mounting system causing spare to go flat. tire is rubbing into frame of tire.*ak consumer said please cancel this complaint. *yh

Was traveling 65mph on highway and two rear tires tread started to separate from sidewalls. uniroyal, tiger paws. there was no accident. *ak

2/25/99 truck was taken to serra chev in jackson for clutch adjustment, smell of burning odor, drivers door hard to shut, drivers seat belt locks up on straight and level. 3/1/99 engine quit while driving 35-40mph. towed to serra chevrolet. wire was found burnt at trans and dist. 3/6/99 truck again quit while driving at approx. 30 mph in 2nd gear. tires locked up and truck coasted to stop. this is a 4 lane,55mph highway. was nearly hit by vehicle behind. lost all power including steering. truck is again sitting at serra chevrolet here in jackson. this vehicle needs immediate recall for smell of something burning and twice for shutting off while driving, before it causes a serious accident.
