Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. the contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. the contact also noted that the vehicle experienced the failure for approximately six months. the vehicle was taken to coughlin chevrolet of pataskala, 9000 e broad st sw, pataskala, oh 43062, where it was determined that the rocker arm solenoid valve was defective and needed replacement however, the parts were not available to repair the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 83,000. *dt*jb

2014 chevy malibu 2lt 75,000 miles. omaha, ne. check engine light came. hesitation in acceleration. diagnostic code p16cf - intake rocker arm solenoid valve 2 control circuit. chevy dealer has 17 on backorder. after research this appears to be a known issue, with no recall. shop ordered part 2 weeks ago. they are telling us they hope to have the part by first of february.

While driving my check engine light came on. plugged it in to see what codes it was reading both o2 sensor and well as as cam shaft, check engine litlght is still on sensing the same codes. went to 2 different garages and they are unable to find the issue. i'm unable to get my car inspected due to the issue.

Check engine light came on,stayed on,took car to be diagnosed, rocker arm solenoid valve defect, car has only over 55000 miles on it,recommend not to drive to avoid further damage, part not available anywhere, car been parked since late november.car was driven on freeway when check engine light came on,not knowing if the car was going to make it without causing damage to engine or stall before we could get to a mechanic shop.

On 11/19/19, i was driving on a side street (25 mph) when the reduced engine power light came on in my 2014 chevy malibu. the car is driveable, but at speeds higher than 35 mph, the reduced power is noticeable. i immediately brought it to the dealership (matthews hargreaves chevrolet in royal oak, mi) for repair. they identified the problem as being the rocker arm solenoid valve, but they were unable to fix it because gm is not currently making the part and it is unavailable through aftermarket. for nearly a month, i have been stuck with a car that is only barely usable. on colder days, my car has a more difficult time with even handling low speeds and i'm terrified that it's going to become completely inoperable before this is fixed. the dealership i took it to currently has 6 vehicles with the same problem, but are in non-driveable condition. the dealer has also informed me that over 50 cars around the country are having the same problem. gm has been contacted about the problem, but they have refused to do anything to help despite being aware that this is a known issue.

Bought car brand new from the chevy dealership in 2015. the check engine light comes on within a year. code 305f. replaced aux battery. 1 year later, code 305f, again. replaced aux battery under warranty. another code popped up..this was a sensor; replaced under warranty. nov 2018, again, code 305f. another aux battery replaced. here we are, dec 2019, code 305f. dealership states since we've replaced with a gel battery and both batteries are reading good but recharge, that it is the computer module on top of the battery which controls the auto stop/start and the remote start. in the almost 5 years i have had my car, it has been in the shop for this problem more than 3 times now and 2 times for hub assembly that should not have gone out at the low mileage of 42k. there is a clear problem with this 305f and the hub assembly as chevy has a service bulletin on the 305f and many chevy malibu owners have made several hundred complaints according to online sources. this is a safety issue because the car will "die"(shut off completely) while at a stop sign or light which could result in a rear end.this car, along with the other 2014-2015 are being treated as though there is no problem. i'm sick of spending $140.00 on an aux battery and wasting time for something that they know is worthy of a recall but are to cheap or just don't care about the buyer. as i write this, i am sitting at sterling mccall chevrolet in houston for the wonderful 305f code. do something about it! i was sitting at a light when the auto shut off/start kicked off and back on which caused the car to lunge forward. that's when the check engine light illuminated the first time. i drive my car because i have to and still paying it off, but i no longer feel safe in it and it puts me and my family along with other drivers at risk. i have about 2 years left on my payments.

The engine light is on and at times the car loses power! trying to get parts since october 2019 was told no one is contracted to make the part and gm has not been helpful !!

I have a 2014 chevy malibu ls. about a year ago while at a stop light the car engine shut stopped working, and all the lights came off. i had to get the assistance of a police officer to control traffic away from my car, until the tow truck arrived and towed it to the shop. i was told that the auxiliary battery was bad, and had it replaced. the car it worked well. in august of this year the car engine began shutting off, while i was driving, and sometimes after it was parked overnight. i had the batteries checked, and was told that they were bad. i live in az, and the weather here is very hot, both were replaced on august 27th and 28th, less than 2 months ago, with two new batteries. the car worked well up until this evening, when it shut down completely as i was driving into my yard. all the lights came off, and i cannot get the key out of the ignition. i am glad that it happened when i entered my yard and not while i was driving on the freeway. will tow it to the shop in the morning to find out what the problem is now.

Engine light keeps coming on while driving or stationary. i had a diagnostics test done they said it is the rocker arm solenoid. they said there is a national back order and 1 of our local dealers had 6 cars waiting for this part at the time and had already been waiting for several months. this is obviously a manufacturing defect that gm should be doing a recall for.

Have been needing a repair but the part has been unavailable for months. we need the oil control valve and part number 12633613. gm does not know when the part will be available, so no way for the car to be fixed.

Part number 12633613 is faulty and gm doesn't have a replacement part available. car has been sitting for the last 4 months.

My wife was doing 70 down one of our busier country roads in michigan and the check engine light came on followed by an engine power reduced message causing the car to decelerate down to 30mph causing cars to swerve and go around us. she could have been rear ended and extremely hurt becuase of this.

We purchased this vehicle as for safety and convenience, we are student and full time workers. we share one care and because of that we took care of the car like recommended. since october, we have been isolated, depended on uber and lyft because of gm not having the part for the vehicle. we searched everywhere, we called gm and filed a complaint, nothing was done. we paid to get the diagnosis done and said we need the oil control valve and part number 12633613. no one has it and everyone is looking for the same part. there is an issue there and gm should be held responsible. we're still paying for the vehicle. the incident had while the vehicle was in motion, as i was driving to work, i heard a loud pop and lucky i was to my job 21880 state road 7, boca raton fl 33064. i parked the vehicle and went out to check, oil leaked everywhere leaving a trail behind. called my insurance for road side assistance. we were able to purchase the off market brand which didn't last even a month! now we stuck. thank you chevy,

The check engine light came on and vehicle was taken to dealership to get a diagnostic of the problem. turns out the code is p0014 a diagnostic trouble code (dtc) for "camshaft position b - timing over-advanced or system performance (bank 1)". i was informed on september 7, 2019 at the dealership that the part was on back order but i needed to pay for the part and once the part came in and to not drive the vehicle until it is repaired. also, i would be informed and then i would come in and pay the labor fees. i've called chevrolet numerous times and have been told the part is still on back order nationwide with no estimated timeframe of when the part will come in. they stated it could be about 1 month. i started doing some research and found the 2013 model of the chevrolet malibu had a recall for this same reason. if the part is completely out nationwide for chevrolet malibu's, there is a huge problem. please help me find a way to get my car repaired.

The autostop feature has a malfunction when the car comes to a stop on down side of a hill causing the engine to shut completely off for up to 15 to 20 minutes before it cranks back up again. when this happens the steering wheel locks up and the car is able to switch gears and lights come on int he dash as normal. the check engine light appears while its in this dead state and once it cranks up as normal the light goes off. local dealerships arent able to pinpoint the exact issue and the car doesnt keep a record of the check engine code. a new battery was given once but that disnt last long before the auto stop feature malfunctioned again

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the driver was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and waited a minute before restarting the vehicle. the vehicle was restarted, but hesitated to drive. the vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and then taken to an independent mechanic the following day. the mechanic diagnosed that the transmission system and control valve needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 144,000.

Found loose intake manifold bolts. causing intermittent code p0171 fuel trim lean.

My check engine light came on, i took it to the shop and replaced a solenoid, problem is still there. now my car dies on me and when i push on the gas it hesitates. my car has under 75000 miles on it. i've already replaced both wheel bearings. my a/c doesn't want to come on at times. my radio will come on with no key in the ignition,

My car has been serviced on time every time in dealership and was in excellent shape. on 10th june 2014, my engine just stopped while i was driving on the highway with speed limit of 70 mph. it was extremely dangerous situation for me and any accident could have happened. luckily i was able to move my car to right most lane before my vehicle completely stopped with indicators on. then an officer helped me push the car to curbside later. when the engine stopped working my car was at high speed 70 mph and there was very high risk of an accident. the mechanic at dealer told me that the number 4 vale has thrown a rod (basically piston has broken) inside the cylinder and engine is completely damaged. he said this should happen at 59,000 miles (my car mileage) . i found technical service bulletin about the issue and i firmly believe that because of the severity of the issue nhtsa should consider putting this under recall. gm told me your car is out of warranty by 30 days and even if it was faulty part they will not cover it 100%. because of faulty parts by gm, now i have to suffer an huge financial loss and bear the responsibility as gm does not care. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15368085/maliboom-faulty-connecting-rod-bearing-causing-engine-failures-in-gm-four-cylinders/

I started my car and drove about 1/4 of a mile and a warning light came up on my car stating engine power reduced. pulled over put car in park turned car off then on then drive. car did fine for about a mile. then car showed reduced engine power again and then completely shut off in middle of road and would not start back. was in middle of curve going up hill. car would not even roll when placed in neutral so that i could get it out of road.

My car cuts off at lights . these problems are in the drive shaft . the vvt thing.

Actuator left and right sides, steering something was diagnosed by pep boys, winsheild wiper issues, brake problems, engine overheating and requires coolant several times a year. some issues still occurring, some problems where fixed by rick hendricks chevrolet in the month of december 2017.

Ince i have purchased this vehicle i have had issue after issue with trim, abs, stability track, heating system, transmission, and wheel bearings. i have had the stability track fixed twice, transmission was leaking (covered under a recall). wheel bearings in rear both sides have been replaced before 80000 miles. wiring harness to wheels, the dealer ship had to splice ( i still cant see how wiring harness is not a covered component. for a manufacture based out of a state that has snow, and to provide a vehicle that has a stability sensor that gets dirty because of salt that will error is beyond my comprehension. same for the default wheel bearings one winter in michigan and they had to be replaced (also not a covered feature). trim that blows off on the express way. i lost my window trim and the front black cover. funny how the 2015 models have a screw in them but nothing for us poor 2014 owners that had an issue. i can purchase a new one at 60.00 (really its plastic). abs comes on every time i have an issue with the stability track, which is every winter it gets dirty. engine light on now so i cant auto start the car, more than likely that will be caused by the glamorous aux battery that was engineered for the lovey auto stop feature that i have no control over. have appointment with dealership to be ripped off some more....appt showed a p011 code, second time in shop to have it fixed. update: months later, abs on the driverside hub is now out. yes you guessed it the p011 engine code is back. (third time). fixed twice at the shop. when is someone going to make gm wake up and fix these issues. it just like my key issue with my 2004 impala . car stalls boggs down at 70 mph.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle went into auto stop mode and failed to start when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the contact performed a diagnostic test, which indicated that the generator battery control module failed. the contact replaced the battery. some time after the battery replacement, the failure recurred. while stopped at a traffic light a second time, the vehicle went into auto stop mode as designed. the driver released the brake pedal; however, the vehicle jerked and began to hesitate. in addition, the engine warning indicator illuminated. the driver was able to drive the vehicle; however, it seemed as if it would stall at any moment. the contact ran another diagnostic test, which resulted in the same failure message. the contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the recall was for the 2013 models and not the 2014 models. the manufacturer opened case number: 8/3551621673. the approximate failure mileage was 78,600.

Malibu while driving just has hot air blowing and while sitting room to dealership i bought it from and they can not duplicate the problem and says it is fine. it constantly blows hot air in 104 degree weather checked coolant and antifreeze and compressor still not working been trying to get it fixed but everyone cannot duplicate the problem

I have been having problems with my 14 malibu every since i bought it certified pre-owned from the dealer. the car rpm will get stuck around 3000 if i'm cruising and press the brakes to decelerate which has caused me several time to have to pull to the side of off the road so that i don't hit anything. in order to make it stop i have to press brakes then press the gas to make the rpm act right. it has always had a bad jerk when i am driving and the car rpm is near or at a steady 2000 it would jerk until i speed up or slow down. i've taken the car to the shop several times and paid for diagnostic and diagnostic and still there was no good new all because they couldn't make the issue reoccur. my first experience with these issues was about a month after buying the car and has happened every since with my last occurrence being 08/13/2017. i am about ready to give up on chevy and change makes because they seem to not want to help at all with the issues i'm having.

Since i have purchased this vehicle i have had issue after issue with trim, abs, stability track, heating system, transmission, and wheel bearings. i have had the stability track fixed twice, transmission was leaking (covered under a recall). wheel bearings in rear both sides have been replaced before 80000 miles. wiring harness to wheels, the dealer ship had to splice ( i still cant see how wiring harness is not a covered component. for a manufacture based out of a state that has snow, and to provide a vehicle that has a stability sensor that gets dirty because of salt that will error is beyond my comprehension. same for the default wheel bearings one winter in michigan and they had to be replaced (also not a covered feature). trim that blows off on the express way. i lost my window trim and the front black cover. funny how the 2015 models have a screw in them but nothing for us poor 2014 owners that had an issue. i can purchase a new one at 60.00 (really its plastic). abs comes on every time i have an issue with the stability track, which is every winter it gets dirty. engine light on now so i cant auto start the car, more than likely that will be caused by the glamorous aux battery that was engineered for the lovey auto stop feature that i have no control over. have appointment with dealership to be ripped off some more.

Takata recall. started my malibu to run some errands and the stabilitrk light came on and it said reduced engine power. this is a 2014 malibu lt. after driving it , the stabilitrk light went off but the light for the reduced engine power is still on. the car is not running the way it should. i have it scheduled for a diagnostics. seems this is an issue with gm. when driving the car had no power and this happened on the first start of the morning.

2014 malibu has the 2.5l ecotec engine equipped with start/stop technology when i stop/brake the engine only shut lest than 10% of time. have had into the dealer two times for this they said all in spec. the malibu stops/starts so infrequently that it surprises me when it does shut off.

While driving over 65 mph on the expressway, my vehicle began to vibrate heavily and then stopped accelerating. the engine cut off (auto start/ stop feature) and after a few seconds, came back on. i was able to get over to the shoulder, but the vehicle would not go over 10 mph. the car had to be towed to the dealership.

Hendrick chevrolet norfolk virginia dealer service found gm history code dtc u0121 for this failure. my 2014 chevrolet malibu suddenly and fully ceased operating while stopping at a traffic red light in downtown norfolk va; even lost all electrical including the emergency / hazard light not operating. the car went completely dead while taking foot off of brake and pressing on gas pedal after traffic light turned green; all dashboard displays went dark. it took 3 attempts to re-start the car over a period of 11 minutes (paused for some time after 2nd try). very dangerous for my wife who was driving during this incident! we then brought this car to hendrick chevrolet norfolk service dept. who found code dtc u0121 indicating "loss of communication with the ebcm" on our car computer history for oct. 27 2014 corresponding to the date and time of this incident. this dealer informed that they have recently seen one additional problem of this same type for another owner of 2014 chevrolet malibu, who just happens to be the service manager at this dealership hendrick chevrolet norfolk virginia. this dealer service visit is documented on their invoice no. [xxx]1 dated 10/27/2014. my wife and i are now extremely concerned about the safety of this car which has the chevrolet stop-start engine technology. the dealer advised that they have no fix for this at this time and that i should directly report it to chevrolet / gm which i have now also done. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I just purchased a 2014 malibu on 04- 22 for my daughter. due to my daughter telling me that the brakes felt mushy in her car i decided to test drive it myself. while driving down my street at approx. 25mph with the brake slightly depressed, the transmission shifted unexpectedly and the engine seem to rev up. this made the vehicle that much harder to control and stop. this has to be looked into a.s.a.p. i do not want my daughter to continue driving this vehicle until there is a solution. going to take this vehicle back to the dealership first thing monday. *tr

There is a grinding noise coming from the engine compartment. i do believe there are other complaints on this same issue. *tr

As i was driving and come to a stop light, my vehicle cut off and once i let off the brake, to go, the car started back without me doing anything. when i was at the drive thru window, my foot was on the brake and i was still in drive mode, the car cut off, and when i let of the brake slightly the vehicle started all by itself. both incidents happened a week apart. *tr
