I have a 2010 and repeatedly have issues. it has been to the dealer as it completely lost power in rush hour. car dash said service abs, power, saver mode, traction control, service esc and then died. i took to shop and they replaced the pcm is what they told me. car has since had lose of power, sluggish, dies periodically, and now almost 3 years after thousand dollar repair not to mention the air bag light that is on that they are telling me will cost at least 1000 dollars as well to repair as my car is out of warranty and that it is a saftey concern. my car died again while coming through a intersection and the p0341 has come up and been replace3d four times since february 2019. this car is a danger and i am forced to drive it when it runs as i have so much money invested i cant afford a new one. i have also replaced the throttle body and just about every sensor under the hood including spark plugs and battery and car is still acting up. why are they not helping us. someone is going to get killed. it stalls suddenly and with little to no warning. i am terrified to transport my kids in this car. please help us'

Car intermittently stalls going home from work, and around town. never stalls in the early morning (dark out). the warmer the outside temperature is the more it stalls, with the hottest day so far causing the car to have to be towed because it would not restart until the next day when it was cooler out. most stalls happen within 7 to 15 minutes on the second trip of the day (around 2 pm), and the car has to sit for 20 seconds or longer before it will restart. no check engine light comes on for this event. the electrical power is still on when this happens. the stall is quiet and pressing the gas peddle only speeds up how fast it stalls. most of the stalls happen at 1500 rpm or less, and 45 mph or less. the stalls happen while moving, accelerating, slowing down, while stopped in gear, and stopped in park. the event feels like the engine power cuts out with no warning, and the rpm gauge and car start slowing down. if the car can coast for 15 to 20 seconds, it has fixed itself and stopped stalling (as long as rpms did not drop too far) on a few occasions. car has been to dealer 3 times, and is going back again next week for same unfixed issue. most driving is city driving, and it has only stalled 2 times when driving at speeds around 55 mph. car has stalled 51 times since january of this year, with some almost causing accidents. it is stalling more and more the warmer it gets outside. dealer work during this time that did not fix issue are, spark plugs and wires, timing chain and computer, battery, cleaned throttle body and injectors. during the stall events, my live scanner tool reports both o2 sensors got to 0.00 volts from start of stall to end of stall. the short term fuel trim goes into the 30 range (lean), when stalling while moving but not when at a stop. none of this logs any codes in the computer. very scary, having your car stop without warning in traffic.

Brake light constantly fluctuating without the brake being pressed, very dangerous for me and my child, headlights constantly going out specifically the front passenger side, almost go cause an accident and people thing i'm the one pressing the brakes, it does this when driving or when it parked, if i tap the brake it'll go off for a few second then come right back on. also car keep throwing a code saying it's running rich even tho i can locate the problem i believe it has something to do with a senseor or wiring or the fuel injector, if there are any recalls for this vehicle i would lie for them to be fix all at once because i have to use this card daily for myself and my daughter and i just want it to be safe for my child and i as well as other drivers in the road.

There is a problem with the fuse box located in the trunk. my car has completely lost engine power while driving on multiple occasions. fuel pump, alternator, and battery have needed replaced. there is a short in or near this rear fuse box. fuel pump relay has been replaced, and connections greased. temporarily fixed, then a few days later shuts off while running. from researching, this appears to be extremely common with this model across multiple years, with the wire leading to the fuel pump relay burning up and shorting. clearly poor wiring. at least three times my car has completely shut down while in motion with no warning at all. multiple crank/no start situations as well. my next option is to replace the entire fuse block, but that will not fix wiring design. have been towed multiple times in a short period of time.

Takata recall. the code p4096 keeps popping up even after i unhooked the battery. i couldn't find out what the specific issue is.

Transmission failure, car will turn off on interstate or highway without warning, car will shut down while driving , roll backwards, won't accelerate. had to get towed 3 times! after new transmission , sensors and fuel pump injector , the car is still doing the same thing ! this is a safety hazard and a lack of responsibility for defected products and price gauging mechanics ! problem is still existing. i see this car is under many recalls and the transmission was built in korea!

Engine reduced power. vehicle "engine reduced power light" activates and vehicle is unresponsive and stalls, shakes violently. numerous complaints online involving gm models. issued special coverage adjustment, but will not cover all vehicles with the same problem.

The first time my vehicle died while driving i was slowing down to turn right. the engine died and i turned off the vehicle, tried to restart and it would not stay started. i had it towed to the dealership and they could not duplicate the problem or get the car to give them codes so they had me pick it up. the 2nd time the car died on the freeway a week later. i was going 60mph trying to keep acceleration when it lost power. thankfully i was near an exit and i was able to pull to the side of the exit. again had it towed to the dealership. they duplicated the problem but have not been able to figure out what's causing it.

My 2010 chevy malibu is having fuel system issues. the vehicle is leaking gas from the fuel tank located in the back of the vehicle near the exhaust system. the vehicle tends to leak when it is not in motion.

Plastic fuel line from fuel pump on top of tank cracked leaking fuel all over top of fuel tank. i do not know when the crack first appeared, but the car was leaking gas in the driveway.

Engine power reduce light came on and i lost power in the middle of the freeway.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. howard pontiac of amhurst, illinois was made aware of the failure and performed a fuel pump relay and seat belt recalls on the vehicle, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the nhtsa campaign numbers were unknown. the failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Headlight continues to go out, replace with new one only lasts a few days. also if you shut off car to go gas car doesnt restart. this happens every time get gas.

Vehicle has service airbag on repeatedly, seat belt alarm goes off even when seat belt is properly fastened. while driving car suddenly lost power and service esc, service traction control, engine power reduced. car suddenly dropped down to 27 mph in the middle of traffic. i was able to avoid a serious accident by suddenly turning into a parking lot. this is very dangerous and can be fatal if occurs on freeway. no one can provide any reason as to why this keeps happening. i have no warranty on vehicle and purchased from a dealer 3 years ago. i have called the dealer and have had car looked at but the only suggestion is to blindly replace different sensors and parts. we need a recall done so no lives are lost due to this severe car malfunction.

While driving at various speeds, the service esc, traction control, and reduced engine power warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. car also misfired. taken to independent auto repair shop, throttle body replaced. codes found at garage po300, p2135. began 2/12/16 and randomly happened through 3/9/16

Driving on the highway surrounded by 18 wheelers. suddenly my traction light and service engine light came on and the reduced power notification came on, the car slowed to about 10 miles an hour very suddenly and the car was shaking violently. pulled to side of road, waited and restarted car, worked fine for about an hour. this problem has happened multiple times on highway and in city - very dangerous. dealership has been no help to fix the problem. replaced throttle body and two sensors and issue still remains

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector and wire harness failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated when the vehicle was taken for a routine oil change, the technician informed him that there was no oil in the vehicle and there was a fuel odor present in the oil. the contact stated that he would check the oil level every 1,000 miles and discovered that he would have to add a quart to a quart and half of oil to the engine. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact also mentioned that he had contacted several dealers and was informed there were no recalls pertaining to excessive oil consumption. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

Fuel leak at fuel tank. fuel pressure line at fuel pump module cracked and leaking fuel externally. *tr

Gasoline leaks from top of gas tank. excess flows down the side onto tank skid plate and exhaust pipes. replaced the fuel pump immediately at $700 cost. the leak appeared to be coming from the fuel line coming directly out of the fuel pump. no gas odor has been detected since repair. i found out this to be a common issue for other malibu owners. to me, having gasoline leaking onto exhaust pipes and it being a common occurrence should be addressed by nhtsa. *tr

Vehicle lost throttle while driving on highway, had to pull over and restart engine. after an hour, exited highway to re-fuel. engine died on the ramp without any warning on the highway, had to push it off the ramp and tow to the dealer for fuel pump. *js

The first time i was stopped at a stop sign when my car shut off. it would not started. i had it towed to the dealer, they said it was the fuel pump which they replaced. i had the car 1 day when it did the same thing only this time it shut off while i was driving, luckily it was not on a busy highway. after having it towed to the dealer they told me there were no codes coming up and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. after about an hour i received a call that they needed to send my car back to gm because they found metal shavings in the engine.

I have been going through the same issue with my car for about 3 months now. i have had a issue with the esc & service traction light. i took it to the jim ellis chevy dealership ( paid $105 for diagnostic) and they told me it was the fuel injector, i told them that i had their fuel injector ( cylinder 1) replaced. they told me because it was aftermarket that i had to pay $267 to replace it. i took it to a local mechanic had him put in a gm injector and still was having the same issue, the mechanic replaced the engine wire harness, coils, shift solenoid, and none of this fixed the problem. he then stated that the base of the issue was the computer, i took it to get a second opinion and the next mechanic stated the same thing, after talking to another mechanic from superior chevrolet, its the computer. i took it to superior chevrolet and had another diagnostic done ( which was another $100) and asked them to please look at the computer since i was told twice it was the issue. they told me it was the injector harness and it would cost $320. this issue has been ongoing for too long and looking online many others are having the same problem, something needs to be done about this, customer are spending lots of money on an issue that seems to be ongoing. *tr

After parking my 2010 chevy malibu, i can smell gasoline at the rear driver's side exterior (gas tank is on opposite side). this has been occurring for some time since i purchased the vehicle in march 2013. i don't know when i first smelled it. i also have had poor gas mileage since i purchased the vehicle. i finally mentioned it to someone and they told me to look up recall notices. there is no recall but i found many similar complaints from other chevy malibu owners. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle decelerated and lost power independently. the esc and check engine warning lights were illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. the technician stated that the fuel injectors would have to be cleaned. the vehicle was repaired however, the failure continued. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was not available. the vehicle was not further serviced. the approximate failure mileage was 77,000. *tr

Purchased vehicle at 30k miles at beginning of year and within the same year towards the end of the year upon start up the vehicle begin making a loud exhaust noise (several occassions). i took the vehicle into the dealersship on two seperate occassions and they were not able to diagnose it and gave the excuse the the older the vehicle gets the more apt it is to make noises and such. i'm a very educated young lady and i knew that statement to be just as false as two left shoes on a left and right foot and thus expressed that fact to the dealership who should be educated in the car that they are selling when it comes to body parts and likely problems. needless to say, after hitting the 70k mileage mark the vehicle air bag light begin to come on and off and still does; furthermore vehicle upon start up of the engine would lag as if something was not catching and preventing the vehicle from starting up properly, thus i would have to hold the key turned longer than usual. i am not satisfied with this vehicle at all. at 70k miles this vehcile should still be running flawlessly as it is regularly maintained and tuned-up. purchasing this vehicle was an epic fail. i am shocked that certain models and years have not been permanently recalled and replaced by a vehcile of owners choice from chevrolet (needless to say i probably would not purchase another chevy car) for the headeache we have had to endure. i have an infant and a toddler and the uncertainty of vehicle operation on any given day at any given time on a practically new vehcile needs to be the least of my concerns! *tr

I purchased the 2010 malibu, used from the dealership- they were the owners previously. i purchased it in oct. 2011 and have taken it to the dealership 8 times in the 9 months of owning it. one time the entire driver side floor had 1+ inches of standing water in it, after a rain. the esc light continued to come on and off- they couldn't locate any issue- the first 2 times i took it in for that. the oil life sensor never went off for service- i was at 10,000 miles since the last oil change. i took it to my real mechanic to have fixed. the battery went totally dead in it one day- they said it had bad cells in it. and it would also stall, and when going about 40 mph not accelerate, on inclines. that's when the esc light would kick on, sometimes, and the rpm's would go up and down, all over the place. finally made the dealership keep it until they figured out something- they kept it a few days, and called me numerous times asking me unrelated questions- they thought i was nuts, because they couldn't reproduce the issue. finally- they told me a wire in the fuel injection had come loose. my car was so called 'certified' by the dealership- but i don't think they did any of the tests, or else they would have found some of these things themselves. *tr
