Well after a day of no issues i was driving went to park and i put my car into park the car died and reversed a little bit. it now won't turn over and won't make any noise under the hood. i tried jumping it but that didn't work and i tried to see if maybe the anti lock system shut it off but it's not that either. when i turn the key to the on position it says it's still in reverse and when i move the shifter it doesn't register on the dashboard. so my car still thinks i'm in reverse.

Nhtsa recall # 14v224 (manufacturer recall # n140152) car has been on recall since may 16, 2014. brought car to paul conti cheverolet, freeport on 12/22/2014 to be serviced and was told again "part not available." *tr

On 11/21, i took my 2005 malibu to the gm dealership for a recall on the "steering" to replace the torque sensor assembly. nhtsa campaign number: 14v153000. when i left the dealership and driving for awhile, i noticed my car would partially stall at traffic lights or stop signs. i called the dealership when i got home and they told me to bring it back the next day, but i had to work. today, 11/26 i took my car to the gm dealership because the car continues to partially stall at traffic lights or stop signs. i informed one of the reps what was happening and that i had no signs of this issue before the recall replacement. i was told they never went under the hood of my car during the recall replacement. it was all done at the steering column; that this issue is something that just happens without any warning at all. he informed me that other folks have come in with the same issue...not sure if this was after they also had the recall done. i tried telling the service dept., i had no other issues before bringing my car to them for the recall, but instead was told this was not their fault and i would have to pay for whatever is wrong with the car. i didn't let them touch it again. i will take it to my mechanic, who i never had an issue with after working on my car. i noticed there was a recall in 2011 for component(s): fuel system, gasoline; nhtsa campaign number: 11e009000 and never received this recall. i bought this car from car max in 2011. just speculating if this may be my problem. i also never received the recall for nhtsa campaign number: 14v224000 component(s): power train. more work to do to find the answers. *tr

We have received 3 separate recall notices from gm. (1 for electric steering, 1 for brake apply sensor and 1 for a shift cable fracture). however, gm will not fix any of the problems. they tell us to call the dealer. the dealer then tells us that gm will not supply the parts. upon calling gm a third time, they will not reveal who is making these parts, where they are coming from, or have any idea when they will be available. they again instruct us to call the dealer. each recall states that it is an "important safety recall" in accordance federal laws but yet nobody will fix any of the issues. the first recall notice came in 2012 for electric steering. we are still being told there are not parts to fix this. the brake apply sensor came in july 2014. the shift cable fracture also came in july 2014. (this indicates that the cable can snap while driving). *tr

I received a letter in july from gm advising me of a recall of my transmission shift cable. in short, it could fracture at any moment, causing an accident. it also has begun shifting to different gears without pressure being applied to the gear shift button. in other words, it can shift into a different gear on its own. this as my primary transportation. the problems with my car are a result of the transmission shift cable, under recall 14152. in the letter (again, received in july) i was informed that chevrolet dealerships do not have the parts to fix the problem. it is now the end of august and the parts are still not available. my question to gm, as a single woman with one vehicle that i can't safely drive, what am i supposed to do? they had no answer. when is gm going to be held accountable for the position in which they have put thousands of consumers? why isn't there a forced buy back? and what am i supposed to do until they make parts available? *tr

I was on my way to school. when i took my exit (23 on route 2), the car simply turned off, locking my steering wheel. i lost control, spung twice and landed on the ramp of that exit. the car has been useless since then. i called the recall hotline to get support and they did nothing for me. i'm left with no car and no support by the gm team that forward me endless recall letters. i've had endless issues with this car since i financed it. endless repairs, close accidents encounter because of car sensor issues. brakes no properly working. traction failing. it has been a nightmare. how can i get support for a vehicle which i loved so dearly and yet nearly cost me my life?

After daughter stopped at red traffic light car would not go forward. only gear was reverse. drove backwards to safe location. car would not go into any other gear. i am on disability so i did assume my transmission went out. so i did replace. my ex-husband doing all work in my driveway, as i can't afford mechanic. long and short of it still wouldn't go into park. discover it was the shift cable. order shift cable directly from dealership. replaced and everything works fine. nothing was even mentioned when i would call dealership to ask question about getting the right transmission for my car, because i guess there was three different ones. nothing was even mentioned when i order my cable through the dealership that there was a recall. problem is gm doesn't want to reimburse because i didn't have the work done by a licensed mechanic. i had talk to a senior advisor and this is the information she had given to me. i feel this is not fair just because of my financial situation. i received my recall letter in july 2014 about recall and another letter january 16, 2015 letting me know that work could be done. i am hoping you can help me with this issue or i can try legal aid. thank you. *tr

My husband was driving 65mph down hwy 75 and the engine just shut down, rolled to a stop and after a little while he got it started and we went on down the road. the next two weeks when driving, the car would just die and i would have to wait a bit to get it started. after dying in heavy traffic i took it to armbruster motor co. in falls city nb. where they said it was the ignition and put a new one on. coming home going 60mph and nearing a curve the car died and locked up and i almost had a wreck. armbruster motor took it back and put these parts on. 1each #19210069 pcm 3.670,ach 19210069 core charge and 1 each 19210069 core return. also parts: 1each 3157 bulb, and 1 each 3057 bulb. parts and labor came to $663.06 now the car works great and haven't had trouble since getting it back but there is always that fear of wrecking when i get on the highway now. is this a manufacture defect? is this going to happen again? i feel that everyone should be warned about the chev malfunctions and how your life is one the line when you take a chev on the highway. *tr

I received 2 notices about 2 recalls on my car that could cause a crash without warning or control. i did experience one of the conditions were i could not put the gear in park or drive when i was trying to start the car to drive. also once the key was stuck in he ignition fortunately these occurrences were during me trying to start the car when it had been parked. this problem was stated in the notice as a condition in which the transmission shift cable may fracture at any time.currently there are no parts available to fix these recalls. i am afraid for my safety as well as my family . *tr

Vehicles brake lights stick on while driving. sometimes they flash when going aprox 65 and up. it appears the brake lights also flash when car is changing gears. the car once would not shift into drive while reversing and lost all power steering. also the brakes or something at front of car shakes rapidly when accelerating and even worse when going down hills. *tr

After the vehicle has warmed up after driving 10 miles, the gears do not shift appropriately. the transmission stays in 2nd or 3rd gear causing loss of acceleration from a stopped position (such as a red light) mechanic ruled out any problems with the transmission by itself. gm dealer told me about this recall. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while traveling 50 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated as the vehicle became unresponsive to acceleration attempts. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was advised that the vehicle had engaged into limp mode. the dealer stated that the second and third shift cylinders had also failed, indicating that the transmission would require replacing. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and the current mileage was 119,000. *tr

I had to buy a transmission for my malibu and now i am receiving recalls (multiple) # 14152 & #13036 for the same car. however, on the freeway coming home from temecula, ca, south bound on the 15 highway, my transmission was not engaging. no loud sounds, or excess acceleration, nor too much weight (driver and passenger only cargo.) the engine was on and as i accelerated the engine was going but nothing was propelling us forward. i had to buy a new transmission and pay for labor which came out to a hefty expense. with everything i have read online and forums for these recalls i feel like a reimbursement should be in order if the manufacture even had a slight hesitation of a possible defect. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet malibu. while driving approximately 50 mph the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the technician stated the transmission had to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 77,188. updated 3/20/13 *cn

Shift level does respond when shifting into low (l). dealer said shift lever cable is bad and is a common problem. second item had to replace fuel sensor in gas tank as it failed also was sending an over voltage signal to gas gauge. also a common problem. *tr

At 45000 miles i noticed a popping noise in the front end (passenger side) when i made a left turn. i took it into my mechnic and he said the cv shaft was going out, but it would take awhile before it did. it didnt get worse for awhile, now at 62000, the front end has a horrible shaking, pulls to the right side, pops all the time and the tire on that side makes a weird flapping noise, it almost feels like the tire itself is out of round or something, and it is wearing smooth on the inside of the tire. i have been doing some research and it seems other malibu owners are having the exact same problems, is this a safety issue that needs to be under recall? is gm aware of this issue? *tr
