1999 chevrolet malibu suddenly accelerated while the brakes were depressed. *mr while in park, the rpms advanced to 2600. when placed into drive the vehicle would gain speed to 45-50 mph on flat ground with foot off of brake and accelerator. there were incidents of running through a red light with difficulty slowing down and suddenly accelerating almost hitting a bicyclist. the original iac valve (intake air temperature) with a new original gm iac valve. the last incident occurred after the iac repair. *sc
1999 chevrolet malibu 3100 v-6----the throttle cable broke. the white plastic clip that clips in engine compartment broke off causing gas pedal to flop to floorboard
When attempting to pass another car, and the car was accelerating , the engine seemed to take off on its own. throttle seemed to be stuck and car would not stop or slow down, brakes were jammed and that is when the car stopped accelerating. tow truck driver pushed tps sensor back in and thought that was the problem. dealer claims " no codes came up". *ak
Brake pads and rotors experience unusual wear. *slc
The stepped on brakes which disenguaged the cruise control from 40 mph to 70 mph. consumer had to hold on tight to the steering wheel due to loss of control. also, there was too much air within the tires, and there wasn't any type of suspension within the tires. *ak
