Well my 2007 chevrolet impala want drive or move so i don't if it's the transmission bad or not i need answer please it's leaking fluid and oil as well.
Takata recall while driving i keep getting a 'engine power reduced' message and my car immediately shuts off in the middle of traffic.
Car randomly displays reduced engine power. on interstate reduced down to 20mph could have gotten my family killed. researched online alot of imapala having same issue. this is very dangerous
Service traction control engine power reduced driving down the interstate and it dropped the speed from 75 to 40 in matter of minutes my family almost got ran over by a semi this is a serious safety issue and someone is going to get seriously hurt
My issue started with my car turning over. it would not want to start first try but would turn over on the second. some times it would start fine and others it hesitated. after dealing with this for a while my battery died after spending a little while idling. took it to check the accelerator and the battery but both were fine. continuing to intermittently act up when starting, it also started to show other problems. i was getting in my car to leave and it started up fine but before i could pull out of my drive way my car started shaking and showing an "engine power is reduced" message. i turned it off ran inside and when i came back out to show others the issue it started without a problem and did not have the message any more. still have the turnover hesitation, i continue to drive it however it started to shake and show the same engine power reduced message as i pulled into my apartment complex. also has done this when leaving and turning into a main road, causing us to pull over and wait to start it again. took it to get codes tested again and it pulled up a didn't match code. after doing research tons of others had the same problem and worse. many showed the solution to be replacing the throttle body and throttle position sensor which we did. slight hesitation on the start up but took it around the block no issues. went to test it on the highway and before we even made it the engine power reduced came on and car shook again. there and so many others that have had this problem and many have not found the fix. extremely disappointing since we cannot return the part after it's been installed. i am worried to take my car out and drive it on the highway because i do not want this to happen while i'm at increased speeds.

Traction control light came on and cause my car to reduce power
Last may i was driving my car from work going approximately 40 mph a message came on the information screen. something about going over 160mph. the car suddenly slowed, couldn't seem to find the proper gear. at the same time the speedometer was going up and down showing 60, 30, 80, 0. then it cut off. i put the rolling car into neutral and started it. it fired up immediately. i put in gear and continued until it was safe to stop. let engine cool off and drove home. the speedometer continued to fluctuate, it also cut off and flashed the message again. called dealership next morning and took in. they came back with diagnosis of transmission failure, need to replace. i shelled out $4000 for the transmission, now it is slipping. i drove home today and that message flashed across my screen along with the transmission struggling to find the proper gear. the speedometer was moving up and down. the speedometer was replaced when the transmission was replaced. i have contacted the dealership to schedule an appointment. i also made a formal complaint to gm. *tr
Engine power was reduced while i was traveling with the flow of traffic. i attempted to accelerate but car started slowing down. took the vehicle for repair and replaced the pedal position sensor was replaced. i contacted chevy dealership service dept and was told it's a common occurrence. impalas have a throttle sensor instead of cable. if the sensor goes out, the engine power is reduced to protect the engine integrity. in some cases, it's reduced significantly. the manufacture noted my concern but the rep would not escalate the matter. i went online to file a complaint and there is a chevy forum with similar concerns. general motor reps reply with common responses to take the vehicle to an authorized mechanic and their concern has been noted. i was informed by representative at 800# for manufacture to call back if it happens again. thankfully i wasn't going at a higher speed in dallas traffic. not sure if i would have had the luxury of pulling over.
My 2007 impala recently shut off on me wouldn't move in drive as i sat in the middle of the highway with my kids it has been jerking since i hit 135000 miles it has a strong odor when i cut my ac on in as my car is running the engine has a strong odornow my car want drive at all an i see it has 3 recalls on it please let me what's going on with my car because that was so scary having break down on me in traffic.

While driving, my car gives a message of "reduced engine power" and completely shuts off...regardless of what speed i am driving. this has happened 3 times in the past 2 days. very unsafe! i have read online of hundreds of this same type vehicle having this problem. why isn't this a recall issue? i believe another car manufacturer had a similar issue with one of their accelerator parts and that company recalled and replaced these parts for no charge to the owner. i believe chevrolet needs to do the same thing.

While driving the traction control light comes on as well at reduced engine power. it drops the speed of the car down to 40 mph or lower. it does not accelerate easily when coming to a complete stop. this can cause an accident as i have had several near misses. the light will go off if you turn the vehicle off for a few hours but does end up coming back on. *tr
At about 10 mph upon accelerating there is a growling noise and the abs/traction control light comes on. this lasts for only a few seconds, but the car feels like it may not keep going. *tr
Driving down road at 65mph when all of a sudden reduce engine power comes on and my car shuts off the cruise and i cant get the power up over 15mph on a major highway............ *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that while driving approximately 62 mph, the tire monitoring warning light illuminated and the engine began revving while the cruise control was activated. the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle accelerated causing the contact to crash into the mile marker signs and a ditch. a police report was filed. the contact sustained a broken rib on the right and neck burn from the seat, front seat passenger sustained a fractured vertebrae in the lower back. the rear driver's side passenger sustained three broken ribs and a bruise on the chest area. all required medical attention. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was unavailable. the approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

While driving my vehicle, the traction control light and check engine light came on...then a message stating "engine power reduced" came on. my car dropped the speed from 60 to 20, on the highway. it happened again a month later and i was told that my accelerator pedal needed to be replaced. this happened again in march of this year, and i was told my fuel pump had gone out. now it has happened again this morning, and the mechanic doesn't know what's wrong with it because it happens intermittently so he can't diagnose it unless it does it while the car is in his possession.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the engine stalled and the electronic throttle control warning light illuminated. the contact was able to restart the vehicle on the first attempt. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage and current mileage was 60,400.
The vehicle has a reduce engine display and the acceleration starts to slow down the car to around 40mph. sometimes the car will shut off. *tr
My wife's daily driver is a 2007 impala . she was driving home with our three kids when the car started shaking and the reduced engine power display came on. after that she could only go about 25mph. this scared her and could have caused an accident. i looked online and found forums about a lot of people having the same problem and it pisses me off that gm hasn't recalled these vehicles . does someone have to die before this situation is taken care of? *tr
My in-laws were driving their car when suddenly the accelerator pedal was unresponsive. luckily, they were not injured but were able to coast to a stop. they were towed to a service center where the accelerator pedal position sensor was replaced. total cost was $317.41.part number 25830023 i retrieved this part and opened it up. i was startled to find that parts of the circuit board were never soldered. i am a licensed master electrician, have an aas degree in electronics technology and as a hobby have been doing automotive repair for 45 years. this part should never have left the factory. i contacted gm and they simply said the part is not on our recall list so we will not reimburse you or look into this any further. i have the part. i'm guessing there could be many more just like this. my in-laws are 80 and i'm pursuing this for them. they have sold this car. thanks. *tr
This car has less than 100k miles and chevy dealerships refuse to diagnose the issue with the transmissions and there are multiple complaints about this issue this car is unsafe. the issue is random jerking of the transmission upon taking off in traffic, at light, or from stand still has caused: (a) my wheels to spin, (b) the car to pull into the next lane, (c) almost rear-end collision with car in front, and (d) sudden rapid acceleration in traffic. the car i almost rear-ended was a 2007 chevy police impala the officer exited his car asked was there a problem i told him about the transmission issue and he stated "yea mine does that too this car isn't a safe one" this need to be addressed nationally. *tr
While i was driving an error message appeared on the panel "engine power reduced". the car immediately slowed down as if the engine had cut-off completely. it did not and i was able to drive to the side of the road at about 10 mph. luckily it was late at night, the few cars that were driving near me were able to change lanes before a collision occurred. *tr
Vehicle's transmission slips when accelerating, and also jerks when idling. this is a common issue that has been reported in multiple places by a large number of people. issue has been increasing in frequency - making this car unsafe to drive, yet chevrolet has not bothered to address the now obvious problem. *tr

While driving my "service traction control" message came on followed by "reduced engine power". it slows down my vehicle and sometimes i cannot even accelerate when these messages appear. they always come on together and every single time i drive. sometimes right away, sometimes after i've been driving for awhile. it use to not happen when i was using my cruise control but not even when that is on it happens.
2007 chevrolet impala. consumer states vehicle jerked while driving, the air conditioner was clucking, the engine light came on and the speedometer stopped working *tgw the dealer advised the consumer the air inlet actuator and speed sensor needed to be replaced. *jb

(1) my wife pulled into a parking space at our church and applied the brakes to stop. (2) the car continued on rolling over a concrete barrier and knocking down an ornamental iron fence surrounding the parking lot and continuing out into the street where it finally stopped. in addition to the damage to the fence, there was considerable damage to the front of the car. (3) cause of failure has not been identified. on one or two previous occasions, when pulling the car into our garage i have had the car stall and then surge forward. car is being taken to a body shop to repair the damage. *tr
