Got into the car from work drove less than two miles went in the house for about 20 minutes got back in the car drove about a mile and a half to get food got back in car returned to prior location delivery food to my mom went inside house bout 5 minutes later a passerby bang on the door to notify us that the car was on fire use a fire extinguisher couldn't put it out proceeded to call the fire department

I was standing outside of the vehicle, watching the gauges on the instament cluster going up and down, like they were loosing power, then both air bags exploded! ,shattered the windshield and dashboard! i just cant believe that happened if i or my loved ones had been going down the road!!! well i dont want to think about that but, the piont is the system failled. and if i had hit a wall or something and been killed it would have looked like the air bags worked properly. this car was in my drive ideling , in park no one even touching it!

The spring on the driver seat broke not very heave peaple driving the car. body of the car i have 2 impalas 2002 and 2004 both are rusting under the doors and at the quarter panels i look at all impalas around the age of both of mine and 90% of the are rusting in the same spots. my cars were rustproofed and underneith it is a mess you cant hardly get a jack under both of them. i keep them garage kept since we got both of the i will never own a impala again.

I had just dropped my 8 year old son off at school, and i was headed to work. the car cut off while i was sliding on very thin ice. i could not steer away from the back of a pick up truck. the driver drove off before i could even exit the car. the air bag did not deploy and i had to have the car towed to my house. i have not been able to get it started since. i have had several mechanics look at it but none could fix the problem. i am a single parent who lives paycheck to paycheck. i just bought the car in october. i do not have the money to keep pouring into this car. i know there is manufacturing problem but i do not have the money to have it towed to a dealer, much less the money to have it fixed. all i want to have my car back on the road running. *tr

I have a 2003 chevy impala and it is a maintenance nightmare. the latest issue is i have found a large puddle of water on the passengers side after the rain. a google search shows others are having the trouble with various years. i am told this is a common problem with impala's and is really unacceptable. besides having to replace all the hubs, the car literally ate tires for the first 2 years i owned it but have found tires that last more then 4000 miles and last the paint is not staying on the car. i cannot find any recalls and i know several trucks that the paint is pealing off and the owners are told to bad by the dealer. i hope there are lots of people are complaining so a recall can be done. i could literally swim in the water from the rain that came in. oh almost forgot the drivers side power window is randomly working as well. *tr

The head lights on my 2002 impala are getting water in them causing electrical and safety problems. steam - moisture gather in the lights and we are not able to see the road. this ia a defect that is on every 2002-2003 impala i have seen, gm refuses to replace or even recognize the problem, they and the dealer i purchased from said its not considered a defect unless it is a recall, i was told until a major accident happens that they will not consider it a safety issue. i told them when the lights get hot the water in the head lights turn to steam fogging up the lights preventing me from seeing the road when driving at night, they (the dealership) said well you should drive only during the day. this is also causing other electrical problems with turn signals not working sometimes and hazards not working not to mention having to replace a bulb everytime it gets wet. this happens all the time when we wash our car or get into bad weather. i believe this should be a recall... gm refuses to handle this problem until we have multiple fatal accidents around the country? not smart there are alot of people on our streets and highways that are being put at risk. *tr

A state inspection @30,000 miles revealed a bad upper control arm, left and right inner tie rod ends and both motor mounts. my mechanic feels as though these part failures are very premature and were caused by a very loose steering rack . he told me that i should contact someone to see if there is a repair bulletin for this problem. i don't think a car should need that kind of front end work a 30,000 miles . i'm also concerned that my wife ,who drives the car on a daily basis, is at risk while driving herself and our 2 kids to and from their daily routines. please let me know if anything can be done to correct this problem as soon as possible!! thank you!! *nm

Water leaking into passenger compartment through roof through trip computer. left rear drain hose pinched closed during assembly. years of dirt accumulation clogged the restricted hose causing water overflow to enter vehicle cabin during heavy rain storms. *jb

Consumer stated that the windshield has a dense glare which causes eye strain and fatigue hazard while driving. *yh

There is a knocking noise coming from the roof top of the vehicle when the vehicle has set in parking when the temperatures are high and/or hot. dealership is aware of problem. *ak *scc
