We have classified the 26 complaints from 2002 Chevrolet Impala about SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC into the following categories.
Driver's side (left) front brake caliper locking up & causing tremendous pad & rotor wear, currently in shop to be fixed for 3rd time. other previous problems include faulty sensor reporting "low coolant" despite full, & front driver's power seat stuck in back position.*ak
When braking and (rotors)wheels are hot, causes the rotors to become out of round. when braking wheels pulsate, and steering wheel shakes while brakes are applied. *ak
Vehicle would shimmy after applying the brakes, the dealer was notified and both front brake rotors and the rear rotors were replaced. *ak *nlm
When applying brakes, consumer feels vehicle jerking. front rotors were warped and had to be shafed down by dealer.*ak *tt
The brake rotors continue to warp only after 4 to 6,000 miles (all four brakes). nlm
