Tl* the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet hhr. while driving 60 mph with the cruise control activated, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to accelerate and remained in first gear. in addition, the air bag, traction control, and check engine indicators illuminated. the vehicle was serviced per manufacturer recall number: 08016. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an air bag failure. the vehicle was repaired, but the contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same symptoms. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 191,000.
The car lost some steering and speed all happened while i was driving the car.
Check engine light. reduced engine power. esc off. this occurred on vehicle startup and while the vehicle was in motion. the vehicle goes into a low power mode and cannot be driven more than five miles per hour.
Approx : march 2016 - - 48000 miles, my cruise control system stopped functioning completely ,when turned on. indicator light still works, researching i've found a simple burnt out brake light bulb may be the cause for this defective unrelated failure. either way i'm not seeing any error messages or warnings alerting me to what problems i might really have so that they can be addressed. if there isn't a recall yet , maybe an investigation is in order. tia, l-t-g
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet hhr. while driving at 50 mph, the cruise control failed to activate and the brake lights remained illuminated. the electronic stability control indicator illuminated prior to the failures. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the vin and failure mileage were unknown. ma 08/11/15 the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired but, the failure recurred 14 days later. the consumer was advised of a may 2014 recall that included the same malfunctions. the consumer wanted to be reimbursed for all associated attempted repairs for the brake lights. updated 05/10/2017*js updated 11/01/2017*cn
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet hhr. while driving from a complete stop, there was hesitation when the accelerator pedal was applied. the failure recurred on a separate occasion while driving 30 mph. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 53,700.
Engine became sluggish, unresponsive to gas pedal, and shut down in heavy traffic causing dangerous situation. instrument warnings: engine power reduced and something about traction... called onstar - towed to dealer and diagnostics said "wrong readings on the throttle body" and "wrong gas pedal position". dealer replaced throttle body. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet hhr. the contact stated that while driving 50 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle abnormally accelerated. the contact was able to drive onto the emergency lane without incident and shut off the engine. he was able to contact onstar who advised the contact to restart the engine. upon doing so, the vehicle began to accelerate without the accelerator or brake pedal being depressed. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for further inspection. the failure and current mileages were 4,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet hhr. while driving approximately 20 to 30 mph the vehicle accelerated. he engaged the brakes and turned the ignition off. he restarted the vehicle, drove a couple of miles and the vehicle accelerated again. the failure occurred intermittently. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer several times, yet, they were unable to duplicate the failure. the contact was unable to provide a vin. the approximate failure mileage was 300. the current mileage was 2,000.
