Tl* the contact owns a 2020 chevrolet equinox. while driving 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle started to shake excessively. the check engine warning light and traction control warning light were illuminated. the vehicle was taken to jim trenary chevrolet located at 501 auto mall dr, o'fallon, mo 63368, where a diagnostic test and repair was still pending. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 400. the vin was not available.
I was driving down the highway and i got an error saying engine power reduced, and my engine cut out, and then right after, i got an error saying brake assist on, and my brakes felt like a brick when i tried to push them. i made it to the emergency lane on the hwy, and pushed my brakes really hard and then put the parking brake on. after getting it towed to the closest dealership, the service advisor told me this is a known issue with equinoxs with my engine type, where the vacuum pump goes out, and then the gear running it brakes, and then the metal from that gear got sucked up into my engine. that vacuum pump connects to both my brakes and my engine, which is why i lost both at the same time with no prior warnings or any indication anything could be wrong before it happened. my engine is now completely blown with no warning. it's a known issue with the factory part, and they assured me it had nothing to do with maintenance or anything, some of the vacuum pumps they used are just bad. there are no open recalls on my ...
The electronic speed control suddenly stopped working and no longer functions. the automatic stop feature causes the vehicle to lurch forward suddenly when you press the gas peddle following a stop. the dynamic braking suddenly engages while driving at highway speeds on the interstate and there are no other vehicles or obstructions in the area.
Had my equinox for couple years without any problems. just recently abs light came on along with traction control. suv slides to the side when applying breaks. a month before this started engine light kept turning on and off. didn't stay long enough to see whats wrong. gas gauge does not show correct amount of fuel 1 out of 5 days.
When rear e- brakes are wet they lock up and make a loud sound. this happens after a hard rain or if you go thru the car wash with the under carriage option and release the e-brake after parking.
My airbag light and 'service air bag' light and abs light and stabalize track light were all on for a few week and i took it to local shop who said the sensor for the brakes under driver seat was bad so that cost $580.00 for new module. that took care of abs/stabilize lights. had to to go dealer for airbag lights and they charged $1070.00 because the airbag module under passenger seat was out and had to replace (part 560 plus labor). i don't feel like i should have had to pay for the airbags!! the airbag lights were on for about 6 months and never went off so i finally got tired of it...no matter if someone was sitting in seat or not, or whether it was idle, in motion, etc.
I was driving to work this morning when i went over train tracks. as soon as i did my "stbilitrak" light came on. all wheel drive turned off as well as abs. my car would no longer accelerate. i tried to break and nearly lost control of the vehicle. i'm upset with my vehicle. i have had so many problems with it. i have always owned a chevy, but i think they quality in work is decreasing. i will be thinking about what kind of car i will get next. i prefer chevy since it's all our family has every bought, however i'm sick of having unexpected problems with it.
Brakes grabs,makes loud scrubbing noise when applied to slow down,stop,or turn.sound like right front end rods going to break, and feels like brakes slipping, and not wanting to stop at times.
I was traveling 70+mph on a freeway and i went to slow down for a speed limit change for road construction. i couldn't push down on the brakes!! thankfully there wasn't anyone in front of me! i was able to put on my hazard lights and coast while pushing as hard as i could on the brakes. i made in to an off ramp and was able to slow down enough to stop and throw it in park and e-brake it. this could have ended very badly! i found that there is an open investigation on the vaccum pump, but no official recall... (which is what mine turned out to be) i hope they are not waiting for fatalities!!
I have to replace throttle body because my car would just stall while driving in the middle of the road as well as replacing my muffler. currently i have a new set of brakes that squeal like no tomorrow and my check engine light just came on giving me codes to replace 2 camshaft positioning solenoid actuator and finally the car it turning into a complete rust bucket. .
