Problems with 2014 Chevrolet Equinox AIR BAGS

Vehicle was in motion traveling straight going approximately 50mph when it struck another vehicle that failed to yield the right of way. the equinox suffered extensive front end damage on the drivers side but no airbags deployed.

Air bag light comes on. sometimes it doesn't come on and sometimes it does. it's been doing this for close to 2 years. passenger seat belt has been sticking often. sometimes i can barley get it to unclick. this has been happening for about 3 years.

Takata, service light has come on tht passengers airbag needs service.

While driving 55 mph on flat 2 lane rural highway hit a large coyote or wolf the air bag fired but did not deploy seat belts cinched up, interior lights came on, emergency flasher came on and onstar came on line and advised of a air bag deployment and asked if i was ok. *tr

Was involved in accident 9/8/2016. it was a total loss. front end heavily damaged. airbags did not work or the passenger side seatbelt. driving straight at intersection and other party ran red light striking the left front and causing frame to crack.

Air bag warning chime came on and told me to get service done. took it in to dealer said it could be anything they are looking into problem.told me its not covered under warranty, after looking into this , g.m. has had this problem for quite awhile. i was driving at the time on a highway, maybe its time to get the news media involved, to get results !!!!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet equinox. while driving 40-45 mph in inclement weather, the vehicle crashed into a pole. the air bags failed to deploy during the crash. a half mile from the crash site, the side curtain air bags and driver's seat air bag inadvertently deployed. a police report was filed and there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 24,000.

My car was broadsided by a truck that did not stop at a red light.the truck struck my car in the driver's door.the side air bag did not deploy and therfore the driver was injured unecssarily.

Was traveling on interstate at approx 15 miles and hour when i was rear ended. the air bags did not deploy however, smoke filled the cab of the vehicle. due to the amount of damage on the vehicle, the vehicle was totaled. .

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet equinox. the contact stated that when a passenger was seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag system failed to function. the front passenger also was seated with a cushion and the light continued to fail to illuminate indicating a passenger was in the seat. the dealer was notified of the failure several times and was unable to provide a specific diagnosis and repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 12,000. updated 08/17/16*lj this consumer has since passed away. I looked away from my driving for perhaps 2 seconds, when my car drifted to the edge of the road-- it was raining and the grass was very slick and pulled me on into the ditch. while trying to get out of my slide, i hit a road sign with my front bumper. immediately, i was told "airbag deployed"... however, it did not deploy. i could smell something, like electrical burning, but the airbags stayed inside their compartment, or whatever.

The front passenger seat caught fire sometime between 3 p.m. on 8/10/14 and 8 a.m. on 8/11/14 when the vehicle was unoccupied, parked, and locked. the fire burned a large hole in the seat. charred debris from the burned seat was found on the front passenger side floor mat. the vehicle was taken to a chevrolet dealer for diagnosis as soon as the burned seat was discovered. the dealer diagnosed the problem as a "seat fire caused by an internal heat source" and offered to replace the front passenger side air bag sensor and seat cushion. *tr
