Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet corvette. while attempting to stop at a red light, the vehicle jerked forward and the service traction control/ active handling system indicator illuminated. when the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle was pulled over and restarted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Traveling at 65 mph with the cruise control on driving on a straight 4 lane divided highway, i brake and pressed the clutch pedal to down shift to make an exit. i exited, made the turn and started accelerating. i notice a loss of power and the steering wheel shook. there was no message that the active handling was engaged. i stopped and turned off the engine. all was fine when i drove again. however, it keeps happening sporadically without any cause. once the service active handling system lit on the control panel but after turning off the engine it has not appeared again. yet, the active handling system(or something) keep tapping the brakes making the car lose power and the steering shake. *tr
I and other corvette owners are having the same issue as the most recent recall of other gm models. my brake lights will constantly be on. the active handling warning light will continue to show on dash and cruise control will disengaged and reengage on its own. the fix seems to be replacing the body control module. i have replaced the brake sensor and that did not fix the issue. after reading blogs i located other corvette owners experiencing the same issues as i. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-corvette-general-discussion/3016191-service-active-handling-brake-light-issues.html ------ http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-corvette-general-discussion/3458738-brake-lights-stay-on-while-driving.html ------ i recently contacted gm and expressed my concern as i believe the c6 corvette should have been included in the recall. my car has spent weeks at autonation chevrolet in alpharetta, ga until i took it back from them and brought it to a corvette dealer in atlanta, ga to replace the bcm and hope to fix the issue for now. *js
