Tl* the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet corvette. the contact stated that the driver's side seat belt failed to latch. the contact mentioned that when the seat belt would latch, it would unlatch independently. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the contact was made aware of nhtsa action number: ea00009 (seat belts). the failure mileage was unknown.
Vehicle is experiencing the exact same problems as mentioned in manufacturer's recall 10461. lap belt webbing can twist, allowing webbing to jam in the retractor. dealer has replaced the seatbelt with the problem on the passenger side, but not the driver's side. also, did not install inserts to the belt web guide of each lap belt retractor.*ak
Re: nhtsa campaign number 00v111000 chevrolet tells me there is no recall. my belts continue to fail. what can i do? *ak
Driver's side shoulder belt is over lapping and won't retract. a consumer had the vehicle in repair shop three times for repairs, and the dealer couldn't determine the cause. driving at any speed and applying the brakes, the steering wheel is jumping out of the consumer's hand. *ak
