When driving in stop and go traffic, and through city and residential areas, the transmission seems to struggle finding the correct gear. the transmission hesitates and does not shift as smoothly as it should, and sometimes shifts hard upon reacceleration, or sudden braking. the transmission also struggles to find the correct gear while highway driving (70-75 mph) with constant grade changes, and hills. (interstate 5 from los angeles to bakersfield ca. ) when starting the vehicle and placing it in reverse to back up, the transmission shutters slightly before engaging properly. this usually happens on a slight grade, as my street and driveway moderately sloped. i took the truck at the dealer for and unrelated issue, and ask them to check it. they said it was "normal". i have read about similar complaints on several forums, and its seems to be a very common complaint. this transmission seems to be junk! the time frame for this complaint is from 2/1/2019 (22,000 miles) to present. others have complained with as little as 4,000 miles.

The transmission is extremely slow to downshift. as you continue to push the gas pedal, it will finally downshift, sometimes two gears, and suddenly accelerate. when on cruise control, you loose about four mph before it finally downshifts, again sometimes downshifting two gears. in traffic, the car behind you doesn't anticipate the loss of speed and then you suddenly accelerate. it happens at all speeds, but is particularly unsafe at low speeds with the sudden acceleration. this is probably a software problem as the transmission shifts much more normally if you put it in 'tow/haul' mode. the dealer says this is 'normal' and gm calls it ' torque management '. it is especially unsafe in slick conditions or rainy roads. btw, i have a 2017 impala with the same six speed and v-6, and it does not exhibit this reluctance to downshift. thank you.

When i put the vehicle in park quite often when i turn the keys to the off position the keys don't go all the way off until i shift into gear a few times and back into park. i took in to the dealer and they said they cycled it many times and it was fine i brought it home and guess what the same thing. it is still happening

When pulling into traffic circle from low speed, no throttle response. engine died or had no input to propel vehicle. change of gear selector had no affect. not until pushed to side of road, completely shut off and remove key did engine restart or have any response to throttle input.

While stationary i tried to switch from 4wd auto, to 2wd. the light flashed and failed to change, then a service 4wd system popped up. the vehicle is stuck in 4wd auto and now loses all power while trying to turn.

In 4 wheel drive turning left or right vehicle slides.skids, bounces and tires chirp from traction loss giving the sensation the drive train is falling out. gm refuses to contact me. this occurs on city streets, highways while in motion. not on a specific date but constantly. rain or shine.

The transmission (6spd automatic w/v6 engine) of this vehicle is known to have issues that will surprise you if you aren't already aware of them. the issue affecting safety the most, is the occasional engine acceleration while applying the brakes as the transmission downshifts to a lower gear. it causes the car to actually accelerate momentarily as you apply the brake even harder to arrest the increased speed. i was driving up a slight incline at about 35-40 mph when all of a sudden the car in front of me came to a complete stop because the car in front of her had stopped completely. i had driven this road for more than 30 years and had never seen anyone come to a complete stop as the first car did in this area. five(5) of us were all surprised. i was the third car. as i firmly applied my brakes, the car initially slowed down but then it felt as if it was trying to accelerate and unfortunately i was unable to stop in time, although i only lightly tapped the car in front of me, followed by 3 more cars in back of me. at first i ...

I purchased a brand new 2016 chevrolet colorado duromax diesel in september of 2016. at 9,638 miles the check engine light came on for the nox sensor. the dealership replaced them but it did not fix anything. as it turns out the issue was a recall which reprogrammed the ecu. they decided to make the tolerances looser on the sensors. at 10,647 miles there was a loud wining coming from the rear of the vehicle. the race to the pinion bearing in the rear differential was pitted and causing the bearing to fail. the rear differential needed to be rebuilt. at 22715 miles the truck would go into reduced power mode which is 25 miles per hour in the middle of the freeway causing other motorists to swerve to avoid a collision. when the truck was turned off and turned back on the error would clear and the vehicle was drivable again. the dealership could not replicate the issue so it took many visits before they replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor. after this did not fix the issue and almost caused another accident the vehicle was taken ...

Numerous times while driving, and going downhill the truck shifts to a much lower gear causing the rpm's to go up to 5500 and does not shift out. twice i had the cruise control on and was on the highway (speed of 75) going down a hill and it shifted to a much lower gear. it has done this on other roads going down hill as well. in addition, numerous times when merging with traffic on a highway, i will try to tap the accelerator to safely merge with traffic and the truck has gotten "stuck" in a lower gear and would not shift out and i thought i was going to rear end a car so i had to ride my break to make sure it would not continue to accelerate into the back of a car. in addition to that, often when trying to accelerate out of a corner or after an off ramp, the truck will not accelerate at the same rate as the other vehicles around me. it will slowly accelerate as the vehicles around me pull away. in addition to that, when i ...

Rear differential making loud poping noices when engaged. sounds like metallic metal to metal catching and grinding. specially when switching from backing up to driving forwards again. is could result in the differential locking up.

Key could not be fully shut off, removed.dealer determines a solonoid on shift assembly failed.solonoid could not be purchased so a new shift assembly was ordered.i was barely outside my warranty.chev refused to cover.this is a hazard because without shutting off, locking column and trans it become a fire risk, theft risk in that key cant be removed.04

During ownership of my 2016 chevrolet colorado v6 gasoline engine vehicle it has had numerous sputtering situations when accelerating. there is no rhyme or reason as to why the truck sputters to almost stalling. dealership claims that the fuel injectors are probably dirty / fouled. had injector maintenance performed and truck has no better engine performance and sputtering continues. this is dangerous on highway when accelerating in traffic. this has been occurring since original purchase date in october 2015.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet colorado. the contact stated that a loud abnormal noise was heard when shifting into park or reverse, and the vehicle hesitated before shifting into gear. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle lost power without warning. also, when the vehicle was engaged in park, the key was unable to be removed from the ignition. the vehicle was taken to bellamy strickland chevrolet buick gmc (145 industrial blvd, mcdonough, ga 30253, 770-954-3000), but the cause of the failures could not be determined. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
