Check engine light with the code 0410. on friday i took my car to a shop because my car started to smell like electrical wires were burning and that is when i noticed the my engine light was on. when the shop checked it had a code for 0410. i looked this code up and i had said there was a recall on this code but i noticed that my car was not on this list.
My exhaust pipe broke right before it connects to the headers. on the 4 1/2" rippled steel that looks like it is supposed to absorb vibrations. from the look of the steal it is too thin to withstand vibrations. there is no evidence of any pressure or forced pulling against the area of problem."like bottoming out the car". there are no scrapes, dents, or scratches on any part of my exhaust pipe therefore i suggest you look into this immediately. for this happened to my vehicle so easily. there will be more of your vehicles having the same problem. *tr
I was driving southbound on the lodge freeway in detroit, michigan in snowy conditions. my car stalled and i spent out with no control. i have been driving for many years and i have never had a car stall out on me and spend out of control such as this one. my rear driver's side bumper and fender was crushed. i was unaware of the gm recall until present and had gm disclosed the recall information before i purchased the vehicle (paid in full) with my cash, hard earned money i would have never driven to monroe michigan to get such a vehicle as this could have happened to my wife or daughter. general motors had no right to withhold this information as this could have been fatal. in conclusion, i think gm owes me a refund. *tr

My husband bought his car nov.6, 2008 and since that we didn't have a problem anything but that one window on the right of the back seat won't move. anyway, on oct.22, 2011, my husband was coming home from work when the power steering went off, thank god he made it safe to our home. on monday, he made the appointment to the dealer place for the recall we kept on putting off. so the following morning, tuesday, the dealer replaced the electric power steering. the car was working fine that whole day. the next morning, the car won't do anything at all. the un/lock button won't work as if there's no power and the car won't start. *tt

When coming to a stop, the car will accelerate on its own. it does this at random times, today at stop sign the car speedometer accelerated to 80 mph and car shut down while at a complete stop. no codes to read nor did check engine light come on. *kb
Strong smell of gas when im driving the car in and outside. the car has trouble starting, i had it checked and was told there was a fuel leak. called gm and was told even though their was a special coverage for my state they would not fix the leak. this is a dangerous leak due to a faulty plastic part. i hope my family doesn't die from inhaling fumes or blow up. kinda makes you think its another pinto exploding gas tank deal. i guess they wont do anything until someone dies. i have had many problems with this car starting a week after i bought it new. knocking when the engine starts, using oil now, airbags not working, small electrical things keep going wrong. when i take it in im told they cant reproduce the problems. *kb
My husband and i purchased the vehicle in question in april 2007, at approx. 50,000 miles my car started to miss, then began to accelerate on its own and lunge as i was coming to a stop. we brought the car back to dealer where purchased, we were then sent on "wild goose chase," first we were told it was a fuel pedal sensor, nxt they replaced the computer, followed by the wiring harness, this however, did not fix the problem, we took it back for a fourth time and the ended up rebuilding the head on the motor, car has not ran correctly ever since. we tried to file a lemon law claim but needed four receipts to prove warranty work, we had three and after the fourth when picked up car the dealer would not release fourth, that was a year ago. my car now has 88,000 miles on it, it is beginning to idle rough again and when i put fuel in it, the car does not want to start, at first it will not do anything, and then it will try to turn over but will not start i then have to slam the fuel to it in order to get it started, once it starts it will idle rough and i have to keep giving it fuel in order for the idle to smooth. this is the worst vehicle i have ever owned, i will be hard pressed to ever buy another chevy!!!!!!! *tr
I was driving my 2007 cobalt and stopped at a stop sign, when i saw smoke rolling out from the car. luckily my children were not in the car. within minutes my car was up in flames. the entire car, except the trunk was gone. there was no saving the car. everything was burned to a crisp. today i heard about the recall, i was wondering if that had something to do with my fire. i do know im not satisfied. *tr

Catalytic converter.only three years old. so many bad gm can't supply new ones. was told by three dealers they were back ordered and not available for maybe up to a month. will not warranty mine because having to keep using vehicle for work i have exceeded the warranty mileage. tried an after market one but mechanic said it would not work, so it seems only original gm will fit my car. *tr
Was driving on freeway going 55 mpg, weather clear, road clear, went to apply brakes and no power to car what so ever, car did complete u-turn on freeway and hit side curbing on freeway which caused tire and rim damage. lights came on dash and car was not on when it crashed. car was taken to rally chevrolet for repairs and i told them that car just quit responding and i had no control of car. they said they found nothing mechanically wrong, my insurance had to pay for repairs and i had to pay deductible for repairs, an investigator came out to check mechanical issues with car, but codes had been erased from rally chevrolet. *tr

My 2007 chevrolet cobalt power steering just die. is there some kind of recall for this car? i was driving on a curved road when the power steering signal came on and i had to slow down too fast to control the car. i could had been rear ended... *tr
I am the not so proud owner of a 2007 chevy cobalt. i have less than 30,000 miles on the vehicle and have already had the head gasket replaced. upon doing some research to see if this was a common problem, i found that the power steering failure issue is huge!!!! i have not had the problem myself, but know a couple of people who have and as i'm sure you are aware, there are hundreds and hundreds of people who have. some have gotten into accidents, others were extremely lucky. what will it take to get chevy to announce a recall? will it take the ultimate sacrifice? how many people will have to die to have this taken care of. driving the chevy cobalt is like driving a time bomb......just waiting for anything to freeze up and make driving a nightmare. please get with chevy and issue a recall. i really hope something gets down about this issue and soon. there are many, many new, inexperienced drivers behind the wheel of this car. let's save those young lives, as well as everyone else who drives this dangerous vehicle. *tr
Driving down the road with my 2 year old daughter in the car, and all of a sudden the power steering on my 2007 chevy cobalt ls went out. almost caused a pile up as it was on a busy, main road. it was working okay if you turn the car off then on, but now it's stalling every minute or two. i have read this is an ongoing problem with the chevy cobalt. i don't understand, will it take lives being lost for this problem to be taken seriously? i am taking it to the dealer tomorrow and since it's under warranty i am assuming they will replace what needs to be replaced, but as i have read in other's complaints that isn't any guarantee that it will stay fixed. *tr
Power steering indicator light came on while i was out and about running errands (at least 3 times). fortunately, i was able to pull over, stop and start again. it would run fine for a short while and the light would come on again. i also experienced a great deal of trouble 7/17/09 with the key getting stuck in the ignition and it not turning. i have recently spent $1,600 plus to repair/replace the cylinder head gasket. *tr
My stepbrother had two chevy cobalts. the first one he wrecked on a country road where he skidded on gravel, his car burst into flames. fortunately, he was able to get out of the car. he replaced it with another cobalt. in january 2009 he had another wreck, single car. his car hit a pole and immediately broke out in flames. unfortunately for my family he was not able to get out, he couldn't get his seat belt undone and the flames were melting the interior causing caustic flames. the policeman broke out the back window to get him out and the policeman was hospitalized from smoke inhalation my brother didn't make it, he died. i believe this should be checked out. i wrote to chevrolet with no response. *tr
