First driver side rear turn signal blinked rapidly, then brake light and turn light ceased to work. when checked, the light and lens were fused (melted) together. as well driver side window ceased to work. mechanic stated its electrical and advised i check recalls.also sometimes gas pedal accelerates without pressure from me. no cruise control engaged, not able to determine when or why...just occasionally happens. *tr

I took my foot off the gas pedal to begin to slow as i approached a red light. the vehicle did not slow down but instead continued to accelerate, as the gas pedal was stuck down. i was surprised and pushed down on the brake pedal, and the car was able to stop. once the light turned green and i took my foot off the brake, the car immediately began accelerating quickly without touching the gas pedal, which was still stuck down. i pushed the gas pedal repeatedly with my foot until it became unstuck, and immediately drove to a nearby auto repair facility. the technician looked at the car and discovered that the gas pedal had stuck on the driver's floor mat, which appeared warped near the pedal area. due to the indentation in the mat, it appeared that the pedal had been rubbing on the mat for some time before becoming totally stuck. there were no injuries, and i immediately removed the mat and have not had any problems since then. the floor mat is the original manufacturer mat supplied with the car. *tr

This 2000 cavalier was purchased feb. 2006, the needle was going at a higher rpm constantly. finally, the other day it went up 5000 rpm's. i brought the car to my garage and several valves were replaced. this did not correct the problem. the computer was just replaced. hopefully the problem is solved. this is a dangerous situation. *jb

The vehicle experienced sudden acceleration. *jb

Speedometer stays at between 15 and 20 mph when vehicle is not in motion. when driving at about 25 mph, gauge says speed is 75mph. other times, gauge stays at 0 and vehicle is in motion. dt

Car was being driven on highway, accelerated beyond driver's control, with brakes applied driver put car in neutral, guided car off road and shut off engine. mechanic where car was towed explained that the air filter cover had broken and a piece from air filter cover was sucked into air duct to throttle body causing throttle to be stuck open. car is bifuel cng. is this is a factor in air filter cover cracking? is there parts tracking for replacement of air filter covers and is it known how many of those went to bifuel cars. why is air filter cover cracking? or is there a fix to prevent pieces from lodging in throttle? dt

This part failure caused the vehicle to accelerate and decelerate forcing the driver to have to ride the brakes to keep the vehicle under control. *ak
