I had to have the driveshaft in my 1999 chevy blazer replaced in march 2011. exactly one week later my son was driving to school cayuga-onondaga boces in aurban when the drive shaft fell out causing the blazer entire rear-end to seize up throwing the vehicle almost making my son go down over the bridge. the school came and towed him back and looked at it' the bolt that holds the driveshaft in was not there, as if they forgot to tighten it or forget to put it on all together. there is no evidence that the bolt was pulled off or broken, you can clearly see by the treads. i had the trained auto mechanics at the school call over to pullen's and they were rude, said they did their job and there was nothing to do to help us.. very rude' also, the driveshaft didn't have any grease fittings so it wouldn't have lasted 6 months top. this garage did a bad job and need to learn how to do their job right' i didn't pay over $500 to have my vehicle fixed for one week. *tr

The multifunction switch is not working correctly on my vehicle. out of the blue i started hearing the blinker indicator noise without actually using my blinkers. the noise and the blinker work together when they should, but now the noise comes on randomly regardless of the actual signal. this happens when the engine is on and when just the accessory switch is engaged, going straight, turning, forward, backward, neutral...at all times. the blinking last anywhere from a single click to a minute straight. my mechanic replace the relay and i have checked all my fuses, the problem has remained. the only option left is to replace/repair the switch which my mechanic has quoted at about $400, which is what it appear others have paid. this has been going on for about two weeks now. this was a recalled item on other vehicles at this time by this manufacturer but not my specific year/model. *tr

I purchased a 1999 chevrolet s10 blazer in march 2002. since then, i have replaced a front end, a rear end and a transmission. now i have to replace the rear end again. i have 143000 miles on this vehicle and i am not happy with it all. i would like something done by gm in regards to my plight. i have had gm cars most of my life and never had one as bad as this. i am ready to go to a foreign vehicle. this is undoubtedly the worst vehicle i have ever owned. *nm

I am the owner of a 1999 chevrolet blazer (59000 miles) and one day i was driving down the interstate and my check engine light came on. after comming to a stop, my vehicle started having problems switching into 2nd gear. when i got home the truck was fine. then a few days later it happened again and with no warning i could no longer go into reverse. i took my vehicle to a couple of shops and have been told by each one the the transmissions in these vehicles are known to have this problem. i no longer have a warrenty and it is going to cost me over $2,000 to have it fixed. after reviewing similar reports on this site, i am bothered that there is nothing being done about this issue.*ak

The airbags did not deploy. this caused injury to the driver chest. this should need to be fixed asap by gm. i will never purchase a chevy again. airbags that do not deploy when you hit head on and roll should not be allowed. *la

Radiator heating and cooling due to engine coolant sludges up creating problems with heater core and other parts. have replaced parts and even added a filter but still not getting the preformance from heater as it should. have heard from techs and complaints.com and others alot of complaints put in why no recall.

Seat handles kept breaking off. cooling system makes gurgling sounds and sound like water running. no air conditioning. *la

The air conditioner has failed repeatedly since about 35,000 miles; simon motors, an authorized chevrolet dealership and service center, has repaired it four times. they report there is a leak somewhere in the system and that it is leaking freeon (sp?) "but they cannot find it." most recently, they replaced the compressor, but the problem persists. after running cool for a time, the air conditioner begins blowing hot air. this is usually accompanied by a concentration of moisture in the air inside the vehicle, often with a foul odor. are we in danger of any toxic exposure from this leak? what other reports of chevy air conditioners do you have on file? it gets extremely hot here in the desert and this problem needs to get fixed, but it is not being fixed. please advise.*ak

The air conditioning compressor was replaced by the dealer on friday june 25. after the repair the vehicle was driven approximately 20 miles that day. on the following day the vehicle was driven an additional 25 miles and returned home. after leaving the vehicle parked in my driveway, i was summoned from my home by a neighbor who reported that the vehicle was on fire. we extinguished the fire in the engine compartment and had the dealer remove the vehicle for repair. the dealer informed me that the fire was not caused by their repair. damage to the under hood equipment required $ 4,500 in repairs.the repair work took over four weeks.
