Owner was driving, attempted to turn up hvac fan to higher speed but noticed that fan would not increase speed and stayed on the low speed. then started to smell smoke. pulled over, shut truck off but noticed hvac blower fan was still running on low speed. saw fire inside right side of dash. fire originated inside right side of dash at location of blower motor and resistor components. *tr

Drivers side a/c unit blows very hot air even with a/c is programmed to lowest setting. this is a common issue once researching on the internet. *tr

Hvac failure routing hot air when a/c is on and vice versa, also routing to defroster and heater works erratically. *tr

Anytime i turn the air on in my 2005 chevy avalanche it makes a high pitch screaming sound. i have had two blower motors installed and it is in need of a third. this sound is still present even after i have had the new motors installed. i have had one mechanic say their is a crack in the plenum box and it would take 11 1/2 hours to repair and cost $ 1700. this is the only quote i have had so far. i have had it at the dealership where i bought it and they never seem to find anything, then again they seldom do anything right. *tr
