On average, the 2014 Cadillac SRX starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 44 346 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2014 Cadillac SRX

Light for service rear axle display on front display was no with a weird jerk in the drive of suv. so i took my 2014 cadillac srx with 74000 miles to have it checked out at a cadillac dealership in nj and was told the axle oil pump needs to be replaced with service hours of 6 and grand total $1600 for repairs.

The vichecle is jumping with a sudden kick when slowing down and braking. this will happen when driving to work in bumper to bumper traffic as well as routine navigation locally.

Vehicle jerks forward every time i accelerate from a stop or very slow moving.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 cadillac srx. on several occasions, while driving at undisclosed speeds, the automatic transmission was downshifted and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. the contact also stated that there was a hesitation occasionally when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the vehicle was taken to shirey cadillac (10125 s cicero ave, oak lawn, il 60453, (800) 338-4553) to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the contact also stated that the cadillac cue system, which controls the heating, air conditioning, defroster, radio, navigation, cruise control, and telephone service, was also inoperable. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Car jerks excessively while in drive at low speeds. transmission cuts out or decelerate, followed by a rapid acceleration, leading to jerking and bucking. creates the risk of not being able to accelerate when pulling out into traffic, a crash hazard. the 2013 srx had problems that sound like this and 50,000+ vehicles were recalled so the transmission module could be reprogrammed. wondering if the recall needs to be extended to 2014 as well.

This car has a huge lag in acceleration when entering traffic and also when the transmission engine braking effect releases when slowing in traffic. when i slow down between 9-14 mph, it's as though i have hit a speed bump. the car jerks back and then forward, like its bucking. it's so scary. while driving 70 mph on i95 it did it and left me shaking. i looked in my rear view mirror like i had hit something, but in fact, its the jerking, bucking thing. this has been happening for a couple of weeks with the jerking but the lag in acceleration has been happening since i got the car. when i pull out into traffic, it's almost like the engine rev's but the car goes no where and other cars are coming and it's dangerous.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 cadillac srx. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated and decelerated without warning. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v212000 (power train). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 19,500.

Tl* the contact leased a 2014 cadillac srx. the contact was concerned that there was a design flaw in the shifting linkage of the vehicle, which could cause the vehicle to idle between the park and reverse gears. the contact stated that the vehicle could also inadvertently shift between park and reverse, which caused the vehicle to lunge forward unintentionally. while attempting to place the vehicle in reverse, the vehicle failed to select the correct gear. the contact depressed the accelerator pedal in attempt to move the vehicle when the reverse gear engaged. the vehicle crashed into the neighbor's fence. the contact was not injured and a police report was not filed. the vehicle was taken to hoehn cadillac (located at: 5334 paseo del norte, carlsbad, ca 92008) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. the manufacturer stated that the vehicle operated as intended and there was no defect. the approximate failure mileage was 9,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 cadillac srx. the contact stated that the vehicle jerked excessively when approaching a stop or while being parked. the vehicle also jerked when accelerating. the vehicle was taken to two separate dealers, but the failure was unable to be diagnosed or replicated. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Sometimes while accelerating our 2014 cadillac srx will feel to studder or skip in eco mode or not. sometimes while at a slow speed, 10 mph, the vehicle will hard shift while accelerating or decelerating in eco and not. sometimes while slowing through about 25 mph the vehicle will surge forward very slightly in eco and not. after some research, it appears that 2013 models of the srx had similiar transmission issues. referencing recall numbers 14v212000 and 13v097000 with dates of 04/25/2014 and 03/15/2013, these recalls appear to duplicate the same problems that we're having in our 2014 srx, lag in acceleration and transmission related engine braking effect.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 cadillac srx. while traveling at various speeds and attempting to come to a stop, the brakes were applied but the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop. the contact felt a slight jerking motion. the failure was persistent. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was unable to be diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

Incident occurred while contact (c) was backing srx down the approx 40 degree upslope 100' long driveway curved at bottom. surfaces were dry & it was sunny. c purchased srx new (navigation, driver awareness & driver assist) in late 12/13. c &/or spouse have backed srx down driveway without incident 100 plus times. c & spouse entered srx, adjusted seats & mirror, & buckled seat belts. c depressed brake pedal & pushed start button. while retaining pressure on brake, c shifted transmission selector into r, 'reverse.' the back-up camera display appeared. immediately, srx began to roll down driveway. rolling continued despite increasing brake pedal pressure exerted. c was standing on brake pedal to get srx to respond to full stop. viewing the back-up camera display, c attempted to steer srx so as to avoid entering street. srx was stopped by impacting retaining wall on left side of driveway. once srx had stopped, c (with brake pedal still depressed) was able to shift gears & move srx from driveway. c tested srx by driving forwards & braking & noted no issues. srx was dealer inspected. dealer indicated that it: "could not duplicate concern. checked for bulletins, no related bulletins. inspected brake fluid for leaks, no leaks. no stored dtc's." re: srx's hill start assist feature, which holds srx for maximum of two secs so driver may move from brake to accelerator without risk of rolling - feature does not function. dealer verbally stated that on steep hills, srx should be driven with two feet, one on brake & one on accelerator. for this report, c never used accelerator & never removed foot from brake pedal. c believes srx should not have been at risk of rolling & brakes & transmission failed & should be investigated. crash resulted in damage to left mirror, left chrome vent & left rear wheel well. repair cost estimated at $980. *js
