I just bought this vehicle two days ago and now realized it loses power while driving (in-motion) and then jumps as if it wants to cut off. at the time, i was driving on a city street and as i tried to accelerate, the problem occurred. this is very dangerous and scary because it can cause a crash or cause other cars to rear-end it. also, it says airbag needs servicing.
Engine rpms rev abruptly between 3k - 4k during shifts. mostly happening in 1st-3rd gear. this happens during any condition where my vehicle is accelerated moderately or higher. during light acceleration it is less noticeable but will still spike rpms during shifts. it hovers around 3k - 4k rpm before shifting. what it feels like under acceleration is like the transmission went into neutral for a few seconds then back into gear or into next gear under heavier acceleration.

Headlights are very dim due to moisture from a lack of sealing.there also seems to be a lot of others owners having problems with timing chains.
Continue to drive after stopping the car, transmission will shift from first gear into second gear and stuck there, then the gear will shift normally only after u bring the car to a total stop and drive again. happened to me several times after i stopped the car at a traffic light before i was trying to get on the highway
Rakata recall. i was driving on interstate. car shifted down and would not shift to higher gear for speed traveling causing 8000 rpm that resulted in engine blow. smoke everywhere. car was towed. i need a new engine due to transmission shifting down plus whatever happened with transmission
Approximately 3 weeks ago, my 2010 cadillac srx started vibrating shuttering when down shifting between 20-25 mph. i took into dealer who stated needs new transmission at 84k miles. just today, it started vibrating hard down shifting at 40 mph. i had traction control issues around 61k miles which was covered under warranty, sensor failures, suspension and accumulator failure at 66k miles and a/c actuator faulty at 48k miles. most repairs on any vehicle i have ever owned and this is gma top of the line.

Stabilitrak warning comes on and stays on. while on and making a sharp turn feels like the tires are trying to grip the road like there's no traction. this happens on sunny days with no precipitation. also can not pick up speed. the stabilitrak warnings been on now for 2 weeks since the last time it rained. i find i'm burning gas quicker since it's on. also sometimes my transmission won't shift into 2nd gear. it happens mainly when slowing down and goes back down to 1st gear but when i accelerate it won't shift back up. it also drops back into first while driving at a steady speed-not slowing down. i have to pull over and put in park then put back in drive in order for it to shift gears. it's scary when this happens on the highway because i have to get to the shoulder because the rpm's shoot way up and i don't want to damage the engine but i don't want to cause an accident either. i've seen recalls for this year and model for this exact same issue but my vin is not on the recall list. i think this is highly unfair. these issues have been going on since i bought this vehicle in january 2016. *tr

The 2010 cadillac srx with only 29,526 miles would not go into park. found to be transmission control module assembly. returned to have part replaced transmission control sticking during operation replaced transmission control shifter assembly. parts was $207.83 and labor was $280.00, misc $25.00. should not happen at 29,526 miles.
Shift module 208755589 dated 01/25/2010 other numbers gm 4447/812516052/05model5 would not shift into park, vehicle would not turn off and rolled causing an unsafe vehicle.

On 2 occasions this month my 2010 srx went from going approx 65 mph to around 20 mph max on major freeways. i worked my way to the shoulder, called onstar, they prompted me to turn the engine off and restart. both times i was able to drive again. i took the car to the cadillac dealer and they replaced the throttle body assembly at $784. this was so scary losing power on the freeway like this, there should be a recall for this issue. *tr
As i was driving the vehicle would not switch into 2nd gear on the highway. pulled over, turned off, turned on, and began driving again. the vehicle then switched gears as usual. interested to see if this is similar to the recall on the 2013 cadillac srx transmission control module, and if it needs reprogramming. *tr

Upon acceleration from a complete stop or rolling stop, the vehicle will stall for approximately 2-3 seconds. this incident has occurred more than 5 times in the last year. the vehicle currently has 55,000 miles. *tr
When i shift to park, the dash tells me i have not in park and i am unable to turn the car off. i have to reverse, then shift back to park, sometimes several times, in order for the car to finally register that i am in park. also, when i shift to reverse, there is a huge thunking noise. this is an intermittent issue that can occur anywhere from 1 time per week to several times. i have brought the vehicle in for the issue to certified gm dearlships and pointed out that several messages on bulletin boards state it's a transmission shift cable. many others have experienced the same problem, however, if the dealership cannot replicate it, they say there is nothing to fix. i saw a recall for the same issue for 2010 and 2011 srx's, but the dealership said that my vin is not part of the recall although i'm experiencing the same issue.
I am unable to shift the transmission out of gear (drive into park) when i go to park the car. when i do shift into park the dash reads "shift into park" as if it doesn't recognize, even though the shifter is in park and i am unable to turn the car off. i sit there and "jiggle" the shift knob for several minutes until it turns the dash error message off and then the car will turn off and i can finally exit the car. this corresponds with a nhtsa recall # 11v595. and the cad dealer and gm are not cooperating with me to cover the fix charge. i am fearful of rolling or not being able to turn the car off, or worse. *tr
Passenger side head light has ongoing electrical short goes out indicates on the information center then will randomly come back on took it in to the dealer no fix. also when turning to the left or the right there is squeaking noise from the tires and suspension it gets worse when cold out. to pay 55,000.00 for a car and have ongoing issues. it also got new head gaskets at 51,000 miles and a new transmission at 43,000 because it wouldn't go in to reverse one afternoon. had to be towed to a dealer was replaced under warranty. *tr
My new car was towed a number of 4 times. first time car was only 6 mos old and had 3000 mi on it. second and third time heritage cadillac said they were working with engineers from cadillac to try and repair. 4th time they said couldn't fix and car was not safe to drive, could get stranded in it. may or june 2011. jan 2012, july 2011, may 2012 failure to start/towed in . *tr
Scratching noise from front tires. i have complained several times. at first service department claimed not to hear it, now they acknowledge the noise but state "it is something i have to live with". other customers have complained but there is not a fix, so until the problem can be identified and a fix established i just have to put up with the noise. *tr
On two separate occasions the first on may 21, the second on august 14, while driving my 8 month old 2010 cadillac srx with 8549 miles on it at speed, dashboard lights go crazy, i get a stabilitrak warning and the car automatically shifts into neutral. the only way to get into a gear to drive is to turn off the car let it sit for at least 90 seconds then re start and go. first trip to the dealership they could see what happened but not why it happened. they took things apart and put things together hoping to catch a loose fitting. second tow to the shop, august 14th, the car is still there as of 9/1. i am told that a part is needed and that part is on back order and won't be in for another 2 weeks or so. part needed is transmission control module. *tr
Automatic transmission on the 2010 cadillac srx performance trim sticks in low gear when trying to accelerate, leading to inability to safely merge onto the freeway or expressway. once stuck, the only way to 'unstick' is to bring the car to a complete stop (0 mph), when the transmission shifts down and seems to 'reset' itself. merging onto oncoming traffic at higher speeds is consequently made unsafe due to the fact that the car cannot speed up reasonably and is restricted in terms of the maximum speed it can achieve on the 'stuck gear'. issue seems to replicate consistently and has been seen mostly during the first few minutes of driving the vehicle after it cools down. the automatic transmission that usually shifts b/w 2000 - 2500 rpm goes as high as 6000 rpm without budging from the 'stuck' gear. *tr

The whole car is a shame. wiring harness fell and melted, lost brakes, computer wouldn't allow car to start, stabili track, power steering, radiator all failed. no side panels installed in door jams. *tr
F the driver's seat unexpectedly drops, the distraction and altered seat position may affect the drivers' control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. i tried to explain this to local dealer. they told me there is no recall on the seat. they fixed it for a price on one occasion, but it broke again. i think the other problem with the suspension has been fixed. but my drivers seat in in really bad shape, i had an accident in it. i believe this caused the accident because the seat is really in bad shape. i lean to left when i am driving.
