We have classified the 1 complaints from 2004 Cadillac SRX about TIRES into the following categories.
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 cadillac srx. the contact stated that a tire blew out causing the vehicle to spin out of control and crash. the air bags failed to deploy. a police report was filed and one injury was reported that did not require medical attention. the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,000.
We purchased a set of four tires from the same company on the same day they were put on. the manufacturer is general, p255/60r17 which are the rear tires for a cadillac srx 2004. both tires were the same, one currently has the belts showing on the right rear tire, the other is fine. the people who sold them to us said the warranty is not valid because they weren't rotated. they said six months ago when we wanted them rotated, that they couldn't do that, because of the different sizes, we asked for them to be rotated from side to side, they wanted to charge for this, they no longer sell this brand of tire. the tires only have 23,000 miles on them when we took the car in this past monday oct. 11, 2010. they said this is normal wear for the right rear tire. it is abnormal to me because of the uneven wear..... what are we to do? *tr
2004 cadillac srx has "service stability control" message come up and reading several forums, seems to be a common occurrence with these vehicles. from what i've read, the condition gets worse to the point of endangering the driver and passengers. there needs to be a recall to fix this problem before people start getting injured. also keep getting "check tire pressure" warning without the tires being low. *tr
My 2004 cad. srx showed a left rear flat tire. i pulled the vehicle to a level, asphalted, scenic overlook area, 23 miles from page, az. i could not get the shifter from drive into park gear, nor would the key turn or release from the ignition. i got out to check and change tire, spare would not release, either. i called on-star, gave emergency details, to first advisor, then advance diagnostics. i got out of car, it surged, backwards, with the emergency brake, completely on, and it accelerated, taking me with it, i pushed away, and it kept accelerating over the scenic overlook, being destroyed. on-star never contacted the police, ambulance, or me, even 1 week after the accident, i had to call them and request the audio or transcript of the malfunctions, and crash. *nm
Dt: the contact stated tire pressure monitoring sensors were defective. the manufacturers recommended tire pressure be 32 psi . however, within 24 hours the sensors suggested the pressure dropped in all four tires. this caused the warning lights to illuminate, signaling low tire pressure. the sensors provided a false reading which alerted the contact that air should be added to the tires. this caused improper pressure to be added, resulting in over inflation. he took the vehicle to the dealer three times for this problem. each time the dealer calibrated the sensors. this procedure temporarily remedies the problem. *ak
While test driving a new cadilac srx equipped with automatic all wheel drive, v-8 engine and 20" tires (oversided the reg 18" standard tires and wheels) vehicle steering froze making left hand turn going approx 10-12 mph....right front tire and wheel . failed...causing skid into curb....preliminary inspection showed failure of all wheel drive or right wheel lugs/tire failure causing loss of tire/wheel.*ak
