We have classified the 6 complaints from 2007 Cadillac Escalade about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
2007 cadillac escalade apparently was built with severe camshaft and bearing issue. 1st. stabilitrak, traction control light and warning. straight and level driving on clear dry day. this is when engine was running on highway and engine fully at operating temperature. this forced transmission/engine into limp mode. mccaddon dealership installed complete transmission cost over $8,000---- issue came back. then they replaced fuel pump. then they replaced oil pump which seemed to fix issue, cost $2084.04. now at 225,000 miles oil pressure low, stop engine light, and warning gong. no oil leaks, oil levels always watched and maintained with regular changes. took into dealership thinking they would replace oil pressure sensor. instead they charged 130.00 to diagnose that engine was losing pressure. their solution, replace engine at cost of $10,000. now online search indicates that this is actually caused by bad camshafts and bearings. not sure what i will do, but doubt i will pay dealership to replace engine at cost of $10,k. gm needs to own up to defective part and recall. some would say what do you expect from car with over 200k miles? i expect it to be diagnosed correctly, root cause identified and fixed first time. or at least 2nd time, or 3rd time. other bills on this car for various things from manifold bolts $1220 which included a power steering hose, axle wheel bearing $704, ball joints, $2015,engine seals$831.77.
The issue is with vvt and the camshaft. took to auto shop because my vehicle was going into limp mode. which caused my transmission to go bad. the cam accuator and cam bearings bad.caused me to have to have transmission rebuilt.still didn't fix problem had new cam position sensor, accuator, high volume oil pump, and the mechanic saying low oil pressure due to bad camshaft and bearings. saying i need a new engine or complete engine rebuild. when i drive the vehicle traction control light comes on and vehicle goes into limp mode and stalls when comes to stop.have to reset engine light to run again.
Driver stopped vehicle preparing to park, placed it in "park" and proceeded to turn ignition into "off" position. the key was firmly locked in the "run" position and would not turn to "off" or any other position. after trying to turn key for several minutes, driver called gm/sewell - cadillac service department for instruction to turn the vehicle off. the service department could not provide any solutions that worked over the phone. the vehicle had to be shut off at the service department. after the initial incident there were a number of other incidents including key hard to turn in ignition, numerous occasions of power loss throughout systems in vehicle. the vehicle has been taken the sewell cadillac many times for these safety issues. a number of calls have been made to gm also about the vehicle and its defective nature. i firmly believe that this vehicle should be included in the ignition recalled vehicles.
i purchased a 2007 escalade and have had it for just about 1 year. so far i have had to replace a defective windshield, hubs, evap sensor, purge valve, fuel level sensor, transmission, defective rims, plus the normal wear and tear items....brakes, rotors, battery. all of which happened to go right around 90,000 to 100,000 miles. i contacted cadillac to address the issues and compensate some costs as this suv has always been regularly maintained with the best products available including synthetic oils. they refused to work with me.... well today the icing on the cake. my grandfather passed away this week, while moving his personal belongings and having a full truck load of them the truck caught on fire. smoke began to pour in from the dash by the windshield the under the dash. i opened the hood and flames shot out burning my hand. the police & fd came. thank god for the family in the home near by who ran out with a fire extinguisher. i had to pay for a tow from maine to nh. i was out of state, the dealer is closed until monday. find a vehicle to use to go to ny where the funeral service are being held. this vehicle is undependable, unreliable, junk that is unsafe. not only is it because this one is a lemon but because they do not back the product. gm does not care about the publics safety. they don't care if folks get injured or killed. many of the issues i have had are safety issues but gm dose not find them to be. if a transmission locks up when you are doing 65 on a highway and drops to 20 i think that's a safety issue. at least that is what i have been told by multiple mechanics. if your windshield is defective due to the plastic and glass separating and you can't see to drive, that too is a safety issue. if your hubs go bad your wheel can come off at any speed...another issue. and if you are trapped in a burning car. i would also say that may be an issue too. *tr
2007 cadillac escalade. extreme jerking while driving, when parked on flat surface and shifted to reverse or drive would jerk like it was on a steep incline. decelerated without warning in four lanes of diesel traffic going 75 and i decelerated to 65 with in a fraction of a second with my only daughter and her friend in the vehicle. happened july 28, 2010, i have been reporting problems to them since october 2009. they would do transmission flushes or change modules which would do nothing. *tr
Major problem with the power train and or sensor that's causing truck to trip stabilitrack
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade. when it rained, water would leak around the sunroof. the water leaked into the side curtain air bag. the dealer stated that the drain hose was not originally installed; therefore, they installed the drain hose and replaced the side curtain air bag. while driving 50 mph, the vehicle downshifted into second gear and began to spin. the check engine light illuminated. after it finished spinning, the vehicle stopped. the contact could not accelerate past 30 mph while driving home. the dealer stated that the range switch in the transmission failed, but the cause of the failure was unknown. the dealer replaced the range switch. while driving 25 mph, the vehicle surged forward. the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle would not slow down for 3-4 seconds. the vehicle was not diagnosed for the failure. the failure mileage was 3,000 and current mileage was 27,850. updated 4/2/08 *cn updated 04/02/08 *tr
