I attempted to brake to accommodate traffic, but the cruise control did not disengage; my vehicle slowed a few miles per hour and then rapidly accelerated, almost causing an accident. i tried to brake again, but the same thing happened! only when i put the car in neutral was i able to stop! i have read a few other similar reports in which the car was not even using cruise control and am now afraid of getting into a "toyota"-type accident even if i do not use the cruise control. what am i to do??? please advise... *tr
