In nov. 2010 the front seat heaters failed in our cadillac escalade esv. at that time an electrical burning smell was observed by the occupants. a later inspection found that the "j1" wiring connector, which connects to the seat climate control module, which is inadequate for the current load, had overheated resulting in the white plastic connector becoming blackened and brittle,. this resulted in the a loss of power to the seat heater. as the vehicle is some 6 months and some 10,000 miles out of warranty, the cadillac dealer recommended the replacement of the j1 connector, repair the wiring, and replacement of the seat climate control module at an estimated cost of $550.00 after contacting cadillac customer service, a cadillac district representative contacted me and working with the dealership has offered to perform the recommended repair for a $200.00 deductible. when i asked that a letter stating the terms of their offer be sent to me, cadillacs district representative stated she cannot put anything in writing. *tr
