Tl* the contact owns a 2001 cadillac seville. the contact stated that when braking to a complete stop, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard abnormally. the contact had to cruise to a stop and the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the dealer discovered that the brakes lines were rusted completely. the dealer replaced the rear and front brakes pads, the rotors and replaced the rear and front brakes lines and calibers. the failure mileage was 90,019 and the current mileage was 91,000. updated 10/31/12*lj updated 10/31/12

Tl*the contact owns a 2001 cadillac deville. while driving 15 mph, the contact heard a clicking sound and the brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed. the rod that inserts into the brake arm became completely detached. he managed to stop the vehicle by applying the emergency brakes and placing the vehicle into a lower gear. he drove to his residence and repaired the vehicle himself. the contact placed the rod back in place. he has scheduled an appointment with the dealer to complete the repair work. he believes a recall should be issued because the braking rods should not detach so easily from the vehicle. the current and failure mileages were 87,000. updated 03/04/09. *lj updated 03/04/09. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2001 cadillac deville. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into several trees at full speed. none of the air bags deployed. the contact injured her head and back during the crash. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. a police report was filed. the current and failure mileages were 29,000. updated 09/01/09. *lj the consumer also stated the abs did not opearte as it was designed. updated 09/03/09.*jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2001 cadillac deville. while driving 40 mph, the brake fluid indicator light illuminated. the brake pedal was soft when depressed and brake fluid was added. the contact had to pump the brake pedal in order to stop the vehicle. the dealer stated that the brake line that connected the master cylinder and edcm module was rubbing against the transmission, causing the line to wear and brake fluid to leak. the manufacturer stated that they could not be of assistance and advised the contact to call nhtsa. the current mileage was 78,915 and failure mileage was 78,300. updated 01/11/08. *lj the brake line was replaced. updated

Total brake failure due to mechanical breakdown on my 2001 cadillac dhs. the failure happened between the connection for the brake pedal and the brake actuator. result: zero braking. please help me get this fixed. i have the bill for this repair. the failure was caused by an apparent failure of a "c" clip. i notified ntsb months ago and have yet to have a follow up, thank you for your kind attention to this matter. *tr

Total loss of brakes due to mechanical failure. separation of brake pedal from brake actuator linkage. *jb

Dt: while driving consumer puts foot on the brakes, and then puts foot back on the gas, and the vehicle dies. there is no indication that there any problems before hand. then the service engine light comes on, and stays on for 2 or 3 days. the consumer has not taken the vehicle in to the dealership for service yet, waiting on gm to recommend.*ak *sb

Dt: the consumer stated 2001 cadillac deville was stalling and jumping. this is happening intermittently. the consumer has taken the car to the dealership for repairs 4 times. they could not find the cause of the problem. the car was stalling even in the driveway. the consumer is getting a rental when the dealer is working on the car. the car has had diagnostic testing done. the owner says that the car is under warranty. the dealer can not get the car into the shop till next week. and the owner is now going to have to pay for the rental fee from the dealership. the owner is having issues on her warranty also. the dealer has replaced sensors, gaskets and rotors, motor mounts, reprogrammed the computer. the owner does have any idea on the cause. the component that i am choosing is other. no one knows what is wrong with the car. speed is not a factor.*ak

Brake pedal went to the floor, and the vehicle lost brake power. this occurred when the brake pedal was depressed to stop the vehicle after accelerating to 20 mph. this resulted in the consumer rear ending another motorist. the vehicle was towed to a dealership, who was unable to resolve the problem. *ak as of 5/15/04 neither the gm inspector nor the insurance adjuster were able to provide a report. *nm

Complete loss of brakes due to chafing of brake lines against transmission housing. *ak

My wife was backing out of a parking space @ an arby's restuarant & when she put her foot on the brake pedal to stop & shift to drive the pedal went to the floor.she tried pushing the pedal , but it stayed on the floor & all the while her car was moving backwards. her car rammed into the back-end of a pickup truck & stopped. luckily she was not hurt nor anyone else.

Consumer states she was driving at normal speed when she applied her brakes lightly, and her brakes collapsed. she states her brakes went to the floor, and she lost control of automobile. she states luckily she did not hit any one, or any body. mr

There was a short under the dashboard and smoke was coming from dashboard. contacted dealer who was not willing to do anthing. *ak consumer called roadside assistance who took down the info and never picked up the vehicle. the information was never passed on to the dispatcher. the fumes almost caused consumer to have a collision while going 65 miles per hour. consumer has been experiencing problems with this vehicle since purchase. the engine light kept illuminating and the brake hose was loose. consumer tried to have the dealer buy the vehicle back but they refused. *jg

Consumer states vehicle pulls severly to the left and the front suspension dives down.*jb

brakes have failed, and vehicle died on in middle of the highway. vehicle has been in repair shop for 43 times. also, headlights dim for no reason. *ak
