Problems with 1999 Buick Regal POWER TRAIN

Tl* the contact owns a 1999 buick regal. when the vehicle was placed in park and the contact exited, the vehicle suddenly reversed backwards. the driver attempted to re-enter the vehicle, but was unable to stop the vehicle and was dragged backwards. the driver sustained injuries to the legs and chest. the vehicle crashed into the stairs of an apartment building and then crashed into a railing. a police report was filed. the driver received on the spot medical attention from ambulatory care, but did not go to a hospital for further treatment. the vehicle was driven back to the contact's residence by another individual who assisted the contact. the insurance company was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed yet to determine the cause of the failure. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 1999 buick regal. while attempting to place the gear shifter in drive, the vehicle jerked and began to shake. while the vehicle was on an incline, it failed to properly accelerate and started to shake. all of the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to penske chevrolet of cerritos (18605 studebaker rd, cerritos, ca 90703 (562) 924-1676). but no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be replicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to boulevard buick gmc (2800 cherry ave, signal hill, ca 90755 (562) 492-1000) where it was diagnosed that the oil needed to be changed. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

I am in army & while driving to work one morning at 5:30 am my van slowly started accelerating the more i pressed the brake the faster the van went, by the time i reached the street the van was up to 50 mph i was afraid so i call my husband, told him the situation & the street i was traveling, he was on the way. by then i was up to 60-65 mph, i called 911 stated the situation, asking for help & to have someone on the phone just in case. i almost hit a bus, looking ahead a few blocks i saw back-to-back traffic starting to build-up, i did not want to hurt myself or anyone else, then going 65-70 mph i looked over and saw a park i turned the van into the park & to stop it i decided to crushed the van into a tree. i turned toward the tree and jumped out; the van crashed into the side of the tree & continued to keep going. i ran after it as i saw the van jump the curb and going 70mph towards the row of homes across the street crashed into a tree head on. the van engine after all that continued to roar as if trying to keep going. i flagged down a van and recalled the police to let them know where the van had stopped. when the fire department came & turned the van off they told me the van was on fire & they towed it away. this is a blessing know one was hurt, but something needs to be done about this, & for the auto company not to investigate is a tragedy. what are they saying numerous people will have to die, before they will admit there maybe a problem, just to save money? if that is the case shame on them. i am here by grace, but i can't help but to think of those this same situation may have happen to, but did not live to say why or how it happen. if this is what is happening god bless the roads we drive on that the next person my not think to do what i did & the live it will affect. thank you, for letting me post my story. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 1999 buick regal. the vehicle was purchased with a faulty transmission. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the transmission had previously been replaced prior to him purchasing the vehicle. four years later, the transmission failed again and causes the vehicle to jerk while in first and second gears. lately, the vehicle has become difficult to drive due to the jerking and slipping. the current and failure mileages were 120,000.

The vehicle in question is a 1999 buick regal lse with 63,000 miles. regular maintenance has been performed in a timely manner. when backing out of a parking spot with the car in reverse and foot lightly on the brake, it felt as though i had bumped into another car or that my wheel had slipped into a pot hole. upon examination, nothing was hit by the body of the car or the wheels. this happened one time and then one time a month later. two days after that, the incident repeated itself, and the vehicle would not move in reverse when idling unless i pressed on the gas hard. after taking the vehicle to a buick dealership for diagnosis, i had the transmission replaced.*ak

The transmission was found to be defective after going back to the dealer numerous times and no defects were found. *jb the right rear fog light fell out. *jb

The vehicle swayed left to right while driving, and the steering wheel was hard to control. *jb there was a clunk in the steering wheel which caused by the undertorqued steering gear bolts. the steering shaft was loose and was replaced by the dealer. *ts(see annotation - m. jordan) *ts. also the engine failed to turn over, the dealer replaced the alternator and found the no voltage on the battery, the transmission jumped when it was put into gear, the dealer found the shaft for the 4th gear worn, the vehicle pulled to the side, the rack and pinion was replaced, the oil pan and front motor mount was replaced

Tl*contact owns a 1999 buick regal. while driving 5 mph, up a hill, the transmission would slip or take a very long time to shift gears. in addition, the vehicle would shake would shake. the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. the current mileage was 85,000 and failure mileage was 30,000.

While parked in a driveway with engine off, with a 7 yrs old child in vehicle, vehicle roll out of the driveway into a neighbor yard and hit a tree. child was without injury, and the gear shift was still in parked position. dealer was notified, and replaced transmission interlock system. provide any further information on this matter. *ak

Vehicle has stalled out 5 times, all different speeds and circumstances. engine loses power, speedometer goes up to 120mph. problem reported to dealership 5 times, unable to fix or find prob. occurs every 3-4 weeks.
