While turning the key to start vehicle caught on fire, flames and heavy smoke came under the hood. fire department extinguished the fire. *ak insurance report indicated that fire was the result of an improper combustion within the intake manifold. this is because that the fuel vapors in this area were ignited and caused the resulting damage to vehicle. *la
While going 65mph engine quit without warning. vehicle will restart after sitting for 10 minutes. problem has existed for past 5 weeks, and the dealer has been unable to determine what the cause is. please provide more information.*ak
When vehicle is cold horn is inoperable. manufacturer has been notified.*ak parking brake will not engage at times, dealer replaced. passenger window will not work from passenger side, dealer replaced door module. consumer thinks that there is an exhaust leak and it is causing a loud clatter under light acceleration when cold. *slc
Intermittently while driving all gauges go haywire. warning lights are flashing. also speedometer will read 18-22 mph less than driven. consumer used onstar, was told problem was a blown module under dash, driver information control. vehicle was taken to dealer 4 times, finally a wire was replaced with a heavier one. did not correct the problem.*ak the plastic engine balled up under the vehicle from wind resistance and failure to attach properly. three of the doors needed adjusting due to poor quality control. the left windshield wiper makes a slap/rap noise. the driver information center (dic) malfunctions which affects all of the dash lights and gauges. without warning all lights will flash, the tachometer/spedometer erratically bounces up and down, and the temperature and fuel gauge drops to zero. several attempts were made to repair but with no resolution. as of july 2002 the vehicle has been repaired. *jgthe palstic engine shield balled up under the vehicle
