On average, the 2004 BMW Z4 starts to “feel” problems with the EXTERIOR LIGHTING and its various aspects after 69 463 miles.

Recently reported EXTERIOR LIGHTING problems on 2004 BMW Z4

Gm5 module fail. when the gm5 module fauls windshield wipers won't work (this could be a big problem if it rains!), interior lights won't work, windows won't go up or down, no alarm functions and of course no automatic door lock control (doors can manually be locked and unlocked as long as the double lock is open.)

I left my bmw in the sun all day and now my locks wont work. many resources link this problem to the gm5 which controls the lighting and locks. bad locks can be a safety and security issue on parked cars but also for moving cars as children may open vehicle doors in traffic.

Passenger's airbag indication light is malfunctioned. the indication light of passenger's airbag shows always off. therefore it can't tell the airbag is on or off. *tr

My bmw z4 which is still under warranty has defective headlights and the dealer refuses to repair them. bmw used an inferior type of plastic which is clouding over and preventing the headlights from working correctly. please recall these vehicles so that bmw will repair the lights and make it safe to drive at night again. *tr
